‘Once Upon a Time’: 12 Things We Have To See On The Season 4 Premiere

It’s been a long summer without “Once Upon a Time,” and it’s given us plenty of time to think about everything we have to see when the fairytale drama returns. Yes, Elsa from “Frozen” is coming, and we couldn’t be more excited to see her send frozen fractals all around… but that’s not all Season Four has to deliver:

1. All Captain Swan, all the time.

After that amazing kiss in the Season 3 finale, we were left wanting more. Hopefully Hook and Emma will take their relationship to the next level – whether that’s working together, making out, going on dates or a combination of all three (you know, make-out work-dates).

2. Emma using her magic, preferably while teaming up with Regina.

Regina and Emma aren’t in the best place right now after Emma brought back Robin Hood’s wife, Marian, but they don’t have to stay enemies forever. We’d love to see them team up, especially if it involves both of them using their magic. Perhaps to fight Elsa?

3. Rumplestiltskin vs. Elsa and/or Regina vs. Elsa.

If Emma and Regina don’t fight Elsa, we’d love to see Regina go at it solo, or Mr. Gold fight the Snow Queen. If Regina and Rumple team up, even better.

4. Snow and Charming not almost dying.

After everything Snow and Charming have been through, they deserve some relaxation with their son, Prince Neal. Not that we don’t want them in the action, but a little family time sounds good.

5. Regina getting some sort of a happy ending.

Regina can’t be a homewrecker if Robin’s wife wasn’t in the picture, right? Regina and Robin’s chemistry was so strong that we’d love to see them reunite. Maybe Marian can… disappear? Sorry, not sorry.

6. Rumple and Belle in their honeymoon phase.

Okay, so Rumple lied to Belle about stealing his Dark One dagger back and killing Zelena, but let bygones be bygones. It would be lovely to see these two happy.

7. A Big Bad that is more exciting than Peter Pan.

Half of “OUAT” Season 3 was all about Neverland and Peter Pan, and honestly, it got a little old. Whether Elsa is this year’s Big Bad or other villains come into play, we welcome them all — just as long as they’re not boring. Maleficent is slated to return, so we can’t wait for that.

8. Lots of Frozen love in Storybrooke.

We know that Elsa will be preparing for Anna and Kristoff’s wedding in flashbacks on the show, but we’d love to see them make the jump to Storybrooke, too. Bonus points for singing.

9. Some version of Olaf popping up in the show.

C’mon — we need Olaf in here somewhere. Maybe he can be a human in Storybrooke like Jiminy Cricket is actually a therapist named Archie.

10. More screen time for Archie, Ruby, Dr. Whale, and other forgotten characters.

Speaking of Archie, we’d love to see more of him, the newly-returned Ruby, Dr. Whale, Aurora, and Mulan, who didn’t get much screen time in Season 3 (or have left). And if Sebastian Stan ever wants to come back as the Mad Hatter, we’re 100 percent on board.

11. A big part for the Knave of Hearts.

Though “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” was canceled after just one season, one of the best parts of the show is coming to “OUAT”: Michael Socha, aka Will Scarlet/The Knave of Hearts. Not only does he have a sexy accent, but he could definitely help fend off against Elsa or stir up drama with Robin Hood. We can’t wait to see what he does.

12. And lastly, revisiting old and adding new fairy tale characters!

Cinderella on Once Upon a Time GIFABC

There used to be a lot of new fairy tale characters popping up in every episode of “Once Upon a Time,” but that hasn’t been the case lately. We’d love to revisit ones like Rapunzel and Cinderella and add more like say, Cruella de Vil or Pocahontas.
