Oscars 2014: Your Fan Voted Favorites Revealed

In just a few hours the winners of the 2014 Oscars will be announced… But who cares what the Academy thinks, when we have your fan voted winners right now? Over the past few days we asked you to vote for your favorites in our reader polls… And now the winners stand revealed.

See how well your picks stand up to the real winners when the Oscars are announced later tonight:

Best Animated Feature Film: “
With nearly 76% of the vote, this one wasn’t even close. And we agreed, choosing the Disney blockbuster for both who should win and who will win.

Best Adapted Screenplay: “12 Years A Slave
Steve McQueen’s divisive feature managed to get nearly double the votes of “Wolf of Wall Street.” Though we were pulling for “Before Midnight” in this category, we agree that “12 Years” will take home the gold when all is said and done.

Best Original Screenplay: “American Hustle
Your votes broke down like our predictions: “American Hustle” for the win, but “Her” coming up a mere 10% behind in the fan vote. Will Spike Jonze’s scifi romance eke out a surprise win IRL?

Best Director: Alfonso Cuarón, “
Another close race, this time between David O. Russel for “American Hustle” and Alfonso Cuarón for “Gravity.” But Cuarón pulled out the win, and unless there’s a major upset he’ll do the same at the Oscars.

Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Lawrence, “American Hustle
Lawrence dominated this category. And though our heart put the win with Lupita Nyong’o for “12 Years a Slave,” we agree that Lawrence will bring home her second gold in two years.

Best Supporting Actor: Jared Leto, “Dallas Buyers Club
Jared Leto wins by a mile. Though we threw in a half vote for Barkhad Abdi just in case, Leto will be putting the Oscar right on his shelf next to the first season DVD collection of “My So-Called Life.”

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio, “The Wolf of Wall Street
This is a lock for Leo, at least in our fan vote and handicapping… If not in the predictions of award season so far, which favor Matthew McConaughey. We’re just hoping Leo brings things full circle by snagging his Oscar and awkwardly shouting, “I’m the king of the world!”

Best Actress: Cate Blanchett, “Blue Jasmine
With a hefty three percentage points, Blanchett ekes out the win over Sandra Bullock for “Gravity…” With Amy Adams in “American Hustle” not too far behind. That perfectly mirrors our picks: we think Blanchett will win, but we want Bullock to win. And we just like Adams a whole lot.

Best Picture: “American Hustle
We think “12 Years a Slave” will, and should win. But it’s your vote, not ours. And though “12 Years” and “American Hustle” were in a dead heat by the time this article went live, the win goes to “Hustle.” Will history repeat itself later tonight? Stay tuned for all our Oscar coverage, and see for yourself!
