Soulja Boy has surely seen better days. On Wednesday (January 22), the 23-year-old rapper was arrested in Los Angeles after police found him with a loaded gun.
The rap star (born DeAndre Cortez Way) was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over after running a stop sign in San Fernando Valley on Wednesday morning, according to TMZ. During the traffic stop, police arrested him after noticing that he was in possession of the gun.
SB first rose to fame after his 2007 single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but he has since made his bones on hip-hop’s online and underground mixtape scene. He was arrested in Georgia in 2011 and charged with gun and drug possession.
In December, Soulja scored a major musical win when Drake jumped on a remix to his “We Made It” from SB’s The King mixtape.
