There are plenty of storylines heading into Sunday’s 56th Grammy Awards — Will the night belong to newcomers like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis or Lorde? Can Kendrick Lamar shock the world and win Album of the Year? How will Daft Punk actually give an acceptance speech? — but my favorite is definitely this one:
How much money will I win?
Yes, for wagering enthusiasts such as myself, there’s no award show that comes close to matching the sheer unpredictability of the Grammys (except for that one year where Adele won everything), which makes picking the winners — and turning a profit — nearly impossible. Still, that doesn’t stop me from attempting to do just that every single year … with mixed results.
But this year, I’m not working alone: As a public service (and for purely selfish reasons) I reached out to the oddsmaking experts at Bovada.lv to get their take on this year’s field of nominees. What can I say? I’ll take all the help I can get.

Bovada’s Take: “The field is wide open on this. With the most nominations this year, The Heist had to be made the favorite,” Bovada sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley tells MTV News. “That’s not to say Taylor Swift is no threat. She tied with Daft Punk for nominations, but ultimately has the most previous wins. If she can manage to win this category she will set Grammy history by being the only female solo artist to win two Album of the Year awards.”

Bovada’s Take: “A lot of possible upsets here, but we like Daft Punk in this category; they came back from a long absence to revive their spot in dance music and create one of the year’s most inescapable hits,” Bradley says. “Plus we’re anxious to see how they will handle their acceptance speech if they can pull off the win.” [told you!]

Bovada’s Take: “This category seems to be a tossup between ‘Royals’ and ‘Same Love,'” Bradley explains. “We think Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the runners-up here because they are more likely to win in other categories. We think Grammy voters will spread the love and give this one to ‘Royals.'”

Bovada’s Take: “Despite hip-hop artists not faring well in this category we have faith Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are the frontrunners, with Kendrick Lamar being the runner-up,” Bradley says. “We give the duo the edge here because their hit ‘Same Love’ is nominated for Song of the Year. We think that could give them the right momentum to win this category. If there’s a chance at another upset in this category, it might be newcomer Kacey Musgraves.”
