Watch Jesse Eisenberg As Lex Luthor In This Fake ‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Trailer

The Internet, as it is wont to do, went into an uproar recently over the casting of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, which was perhaps only dwarfed by the reaction over Ben Affleck as Batman earlier last year.

People couldn’t imagine Eisenberg playing a super-wealthy and morally ambiguous genius, though that sounds pretty similar to his acclaimed role in “The Social Network.”

So we at MTV News decided to do our own Eisenberg-as-Luthor screen test, by creating our very own trailer for “Batman Vs. Superman” (or whatever it ends up being called).

Eisenberg’s Luthor announces his presence to both Superman and Affleck’s Batman, even taking a meeting with his fellow billionaire (“You have part of my attention; you have the minimum amount.”).

And while Supes wants to work with Luthor for good, it looks like Luthor just isn’t having it.

Add in a moralizing monologue by new Alfred Jeremy Irons, some explosions, and a brief appearance by Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and this has the making of, well, something interesting.

We can only hope the actual movie boasts an appearance from the Winklevoss twins, who were surely driven to villainy after their legal and Olympic failures.
