‘Once Upon A Time’ Just Added A Major New Character To ‘Frozen’

by 18 mins ago

Once Upon A Time” hasn’t been too shy to reference every bit of “Frozen” this season, from a “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” moment, to tonight’s (October 12) episode where one of the characters straight up said “Let It Go.” But so far, the show hasn’t added anything to the mythology… Until now.

Major Spoilers For “Once Upon A Time” Past This Point.

So turns out that Elizabeth Mitchell isn’t just playing the villainous Snow Queen: she’s also Elsa’s Aunt.

The revelation came late in the episode during a fairyback (the show’s parlance for fairytale based flashbacks) set in Arendelle. After freeing Mitchell’s Snow Queen from a magical urn (and possibly killing “Frozen” villain Hans), Elsa and Snowie McQ went back to the former’s castle, where SQ revealed she was Elsa – and therefore Anna’s – Mom’s sister.

A large part of the episode both in “modern” times and in the past dealt with where Elsa gets her powers from, and this certainly seems to be a large part of the puzzle. At least for now, the show pulled back from the reveal your faithful writer thought they were leading towards – that Snow Queen is Elsa’s real Mom, given their similar hair, powers and flashy way of dressing – but we’ll have to stay tuned to see if that particular theory pans out.

And for fans of the movie freaked out that we’re getting a major part of the mythology stuck on TV, rather than in the ...

Do Conservatives Watch More Porn? New Study Says Yes

by 1 min ago

If you had to guess which part of the United States regularly logs more hours on porn sites, you’d probably guess one of the godless coasts, what with all their heathen metropolises. (WOO, NEW YORK.)

Well, you’d be wrong. It turns out that the nation’s right-leaning heartland has far more experience with scrubbing their search histories clean of anything X-rated.

The Daily Beast reports that residents of America’s more religious and politically conservative-leaning states are more likely to make sex-related searches online, according to a recent study.

The study was published in the Archives Of Sexual Behavior, a bimonthly, peer-reviewed academic journal in the field of sexology, and it was produced by Canadian Universities.

Ignoring for the moment why Canadians are all of a sudden all up in our good ol’ American Google search histories, Aurora Snow of TDB has a pretty plausible explanation for this. She theorizes that the correlation is, at least in part, the result of abstinence-heavy education in highly religious areas of the country.

Curious minds are going to have questions about sex and sexuality. And if relatives and schools aren’t willing to handle that awkward, but necessary, conversation, kids are bound to turn to — where else — the Internet.

And as well all know, the Internet is for porn.

If any of those curious young minds are reading this, hit up ItsYourSexLife.com, MTV’s site devoted to answering any question you might have about pregnancy, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and infections (STDs and STIs), relationships ...

Don’t take it too hard. I once went out as a loose interpretation of Maximilien de Robespierre, a major figure during France’s Reign of Terror — and I mean “loose” in every sense of the word. (Hay, college me.) Let’s all use the A-grade cosplay below as a learning opportunity, yeah?

Iggy Azalea’s Sign Language Interpreter Is Our New Hero

by 54 mins ago

We have to give major props to the American Sign Language interpreter Iggy Azalea hired for her Austin City Limits gig on Saturday (October 11).

Even though the quality of this video isn’t the best, you can tell that homegirl is going H.A.M. on this vintage Iggy track from 2012, “Pu$$y.”

Azalea posted the clip on Instagram Sunday afternoon, touting it as “awesome” thanks to her ASL interpreter’s “signing with sass.”

That interpreter is Amber Galloway Gallego, and her sweet sign language skills are nothing new: She kinda sorta killed it interpreting for Kendrick Lamar at Lollapalooza 2013. Watch her own the crap out of “F–kin’ Problems.”

You can check out more of Galloway Gallego’s work on her YouTube channel, which boasts tons of videos of her interpreting a variety of songs into ASL. Be sure to check out her rendition of Eminem’s “Rap God,” particularly that notoriously impossible-to-spit third verse.

Ma$e Hosts A Harlem Cypher At Daddy’s House

by 18 mins ago

By Andres Tardio

Ma$e, who released his major-label debut album, Harlem World, seventeen years ago this month, hosted an old-fashioned Harlem cypher at Daddy’s House Recording Studios in New York City recently.

“It was just Harlem everywhere, man,” Ma$e says in an interview with Revolt TV. “I’m excited. This is something I personally wanted to do.

“I’m just excited to be able to give something back to my town. With me, I always try to give my all to my hood, put my hood on my skin, man. I love it. They ain’t gotta keep asking me who I am. All of it is me.”

Ma$e, who hosted the cypher, was joined by several MCs, including Loaded Lux, Murda Mook and T-Rex, rappers who’ve made their names on a cappella battle raps.

M-A-Dollar Sign-E says he was happy with the way it all turned out. “Tonight, I was really, really impressed,” Ma$e said following the cypher. “A lot of them are gonna surprise n——s. They sound better on beats than I thought they would.”

It’s fitting that Ma$e would host the Harlem cypher at Daddy’s House, where he recorded much of his 1997 debut, including the biggest Harlem World hits, “Feel So Good” and the Total-assisted “What You Want.”

Ma$e is reportedly working on his upcoming album, Now We Even, after announcing that he was leaving his work as a pastor to refocus on his music career.

To see Mook and Lux in action elsewhere, check out the rhymes they ...

This Howling Baby Bulldog Is The Only Dog That Matters Right Now

by 26 mins ago

You might think that a human is writing these words, but actually: I am a ghost. Because I have died the sweetest of deaths after being slain by the cute overload that is this baby bulldog puppy trying to howl. Oh, the sweet, sweet feels of adorable preciousness. It was WORTH IT.

You can try and resist this pooch, but you’ll fail. Be it the brindle, the wrinkles, his bumbling attempts at walking and/or everything in between, there is no escaping this much cute. His ferocity — coupled with his sheer inability to howl because he’s a widdle iddle baby-waby-poo (I can only speak in baby talk now btw) — makes the whole thing more endearing and precious than any small animal has any right to be. Truly, this is peak pup.

Maybe you’ve believed yourself to have found such cuteness in the past, but you were wrong. I know this because I am a ghost now — I see and know and feel everything. This, my dear friends, this is the apex of adorability. There is no better baby than this.

Say goodbye to your loved ones, and enjoy.

Jada Pinkett Smith Remembers Tupac With This Touching Tribute

by 5 mins ago

By Andres Tardio

“How long will they mourn me?” Tupac Shakur asked on Thug Life’s first and only album, Thug Life: Volume 1. 18 years after the rapper’s tragic death, Jada Pinkett Smith reflects on ‘Pac’s passing and the lives of other friends she’s lost with a touching Facebook post.

“In this picture I’m flanked by two extremely close friends of mine,” she says in the photo’s caption. “Tupac and Maxine. They both died tragically not too far apart from one another.

“I flipped through more pictures of my youth only to come across at least 6 other friends who had been taken from this world…violently. I can’t even count acquaintances. There was a time all that loss felt like the norm; today it felt unnatural, strange, downright wrong.”

Smith’s heartfelt and moving post also offers gratitude for what she’s been able to overcome and attain in her career.

“Half of my life was surviving a war zone…genocide,” she explains. “I’m grateful for what I have survived. GratefuI that I can spend an evening with Fallon playing a pie in the face game. Grateful I didn’t become a statistic like I often thought I would. Grateful that my own children don’t have to confront the loss and violence in their neighborhood in the way their parents had to.

“But, I also feel helpless, a bit depressed that there are so many of us who still do. And it feels like it’s only gotten and getting worse.”

Smith and Shakur met ...

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Star Jesse Williams Heads To Ferguson October

by 16 mins ago

Some celebrities simply tweet about what moves them, while others, like “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams, get right on the front lines.

Jesse, along with members of the Question Bridge: Black Males video project team, joined protesters from across the country who traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, this weekend for #FergusonOctober, which seeks justice for the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown and victims of police brutality like him.

“We’ll be archiving the thoughts and concerns of the people and recording Black males asking and answering the questions that matter to them,” Jesse said in a Tumblr post on October 8. You can follow Jesse as he documents his time in St. Louis on his Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram accounts.

The shooting of Brown, an unarmed young black man, in Ferguson, Missouri, sparked demonstrations, protests, vigils and rallies across the country in August and September calling attention to acts of police brutality. This weekend’s protests also came on the heels of another controversial shooting death of an 18-year-old black man, Vonderrit Myers, Jr. of St. Louis.

Those who follow Jesse on social media (his Tumblr is a MUST!) should not be surprised by his trip down south. The actor ...

Evangeline Lilly’s ‘Hobbit’ Poster Is Here — And Fierce

by 14 mins ago

With “The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies” about to be unleashed upon us non-magical beings, it only makes sense that new posters should be unveiled in anticipation. Hey, director Peter Jackson doesn’t do small when it comes to his Middle Earth empire, folks.

We’ve already gotten one gigantic banner poster featuring the titular five armies going at it for Smaug’s treasure, and in recent days we’ve also been made privy to a series of solo shots highlighting the latest “Hobbit” installment’s cast. The newest one features Evangeline Lilly’s character, Tauriel, brooding in a “We’re not gonna take it!” sorta way.

Obviously this is one woodland Elf you don’t want to mess with — not unless you want an arrow between your eyes.

Blue steel, Tauriel! Blue steel!

This Supercut Proves ‘Game Of Thrones’ Is Actually ‘Game Of Wine’: Watch Now

by 8 mins ago

No one was under the impression that the Realm-dwellers of “Game Of Thrones” were anything less than boozehounds, but have you ever stopped to think about just how much alcohol these Westerosi royals actually consume?

The answer: a lot. Like, so much. All your wine are belong to them. All of it. It’s basically raining wine all over the Known World, but only a few houses have what it takes to really get lubed up, as evidenced by The Movie Maniac’s new supercut highlighting every moment of consumption over the past four seasons.

Heck, the video even tallies which house “got their drink on” the most. We’ll give you three guesses — and the first two don’t count — as to which family leads the pack. (Hint: It’s the one with the guy who claims to be the “god of tits and wine.” Between him and his sister, I mean, jeeeeez…)
