The Snow Queen Visits ‘Once Upon A Time’: First Look Pics At The New Villain

by 19 mins ago

We’ve known since May that Elsa, Anna, and the rest of the “Frozen” gang (sans Olaf) would be headed to Storybrooke for season four of “Once Upon a Time,” but the October 5 episode revealed that there was another, even chillier ice witch in town — Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost”) joined the cast as the Snow Queen, the eponymous villain in Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale.

Who this version of the Snow Queen is and what she wants are yet to be revealed, but Entertainment Weekly revealed some first look pics at that other local snow queen, whom ABC says will attempt to frame Elsa by freezing Maid Marian. (Why she would be evil enough to do this is mind-boggling — the woman has an endless supply of free ice cream!)

Check out the picture below, and let us know your theories about the Snow Queen’s motives in the comments!

10 Lessons We Can Learn From Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez’s Highly Confusing Relationship

by 7 mins ago

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez aren’t exactly your model couple. Sometimes the two singers seem so in love, and other times, they want to be far, far away from each other.

Whether Justin seems like he’s moved on to a Jenner or a Victoria’s Secret model, you’ve always got to watch out for Selener. The two may have broken up six or seven times, but they’re always close to their next make-up session.

There’s no denying it: We can learn from the sometimes-sweet-sometimes-toxic (let’s be honestly — mostly toxic) relationship:

DISCLAIMER: Do not try this IRL.

1. If you want someone back…
…just post a random picture of them on a red carpet and call them “the most elegant princess in the world.” Works every time.

2. Maybe you only do have one true love
It’s hard to forget your first love. I can’t get inside Justin and Selena’s heads, but maybe their relationship is so difficult because they can’t physically be in the same place at the same time. They’re on-again-off-again-ness may just be your average LDR. They just can’t stand being apart, so they can’t be together. Maybe Justin and Selena are made for each other. Maybe…

3. You don’t have to have a working title
You probably don’t have people discussing your relationship as much as Jelena’s. And you probably don’t even have a cool conjoined portmanteau for your relationship. You can work on that. But also know that you don’t need to define your relationship.

If you’re dating, cool. If ...

Here’s How Someone Much Smarter Than You Found Childish Gambino’s Secret ’3005′ Remix

by 12 mins ago

In December, when Childish Gambino released a 72-page screenplay based around the music from his album, Because the Internet, he mentioned a secret track. Now, almost a year later, the track is here — thanks to some diligent digging by his fans.

The last track on his KAUAI EP, which dropped over the weekend, was an instrumental called “3005 (Beach Picnic Version).” On Twitter, Donald told his fans — who he knew had been feverishly trying to find the secret track for months — this would help them on their quest.

“[PLAY SECRET TRACK 9 1/2 [CODED] NOW],” the script read. The ninth song on the album was “3005,” — so it’s actually not surprising that track 9 1/2 is a remix.

How it was found was pretty impressive, though.

One Reddit user was able to piece together some coding from the script to find an a capella and then laid the vocals over the KAUAI instrumental.

“People keep asking how I found it, so I’ll try and explain,” user peepsie112 wrote. “new audioObject(“30059″,”12zzQ809″,234) is a line of code used to play 3005 on the because the internet script, “12zzQ809″ is the song id or file name, so instead of using “12zzQ809″, I just replaced it with lemongrab because above the secret track section it says “[LEMONGRAB: UNNACCEPTABLE!]“, nothing too special really.”

If that makes your brain hurt, just listen to the song below.

How Different Was ‘Gone Girl’s’ Most Gruesome Scene In The Book?

by 20 mins ago

SPOILERS BELOW

If you checked out “Gone Girl” this weekend (and based on the box office results, there’s a good chance of that), you probably have a newfound fear of box cutters and how they relate to your sex life.

We’ve already heard from the cast about how filming the scene was something like a military operation, complete with dozens of showers, but how did the gruesome death of Desi Collings play out in Gillian Flynn’s book?

Most of what leads up to the deed plays out as we see it on screen. Desi takes Amy to his lake house, and over time she realizes that there’s no escaping her “posh jailer.” With Desi’s mom as a presence in the novel, however, Amy is concerned that she might have an unexpected visitor. Things start really looking bad for Amy when Desi begins to starve her in order to get her back to “Amy circa 1987.”

“He’s thinning me up, he always preferred his women waify…. I am almost my normal weight again, and my hair is growing out…. Yes, it’s all about my well-being, not that fact that he wants me to look exactly like I did before.”

Desi is much more psychologically manipulative in the novel, instead of just plain creepy, and a veiled “threat disguised as concern” demonstrates that.

“If you ever left here and I didn’t know where you were, I’d have to go to the police,” he says. “I’d have no choice. I’d need to make sure ...

Which Hollywood Star Has Punched The Most Animals?

by 21 mins ago

There’s one thing that links Arnold Schwarzenegger, Will Ferrell, Adam West and Bruce Lee, a tradition that’s stretched across decades on the silver screen: they’ve all punched animals. The best part? You can see all of their scraps with nature in the video above.

Yes, in a pattern that’s apparently like no other in Hollywood, plenty of movies feature people fighting beasts both wild and domestic. Angelina Jolie and Adam West have both punched sharks, while Schwarzenegger, Ferrell, and Paul Rudd have all faced off against bears.

But who has it out the most for the animals? Well, it turns out that Schwarzenegger is the biggest offender, punching two camels, two dogs — in all fairness, they were attacking him — and even a reindeer. (He also kicks a crocodile, though that didn’t quite fall under the confines of the video.) Will Ferrell is very close behind him, punching both a dog and a bear.

Cats, dogs, horses, camels, sharks: no one is spared. But remember, it’s all just movie magic! No animals were actually harmed in the making of this supercut.

Look Out iPhone 6 Users, #Hairgate Is The New #Bendgate

by 21 mins ago

Poor iPhone 6, you can’t seem to catch a break. First there was #bendgate, and now there’s #hairgate? A 9to5Mac Community post uncovered that early adopters of the smartphone were having their hair yanked out of their heads due to a gap between the phone’s aluminum body and glass display.

This of course has lent itself to shaving jokes.

A remark on hairdressing in general.

Along with commentary on beards. Who knew that people were so divisive on the subject? Spoiler alert: If you happen to have facial hair and an iPhone, chances are that someone’s going to critique your beard and call you a hipster. Sorry.

One particular user posits that maybe the initial testers might’ve been bald men.

But it appears that #hairgate has affected all stripes of Apple users with varying degrees of hair yankage, leaving no one safe. Our only response? Ouch! ;)

After You Hear Rico Love’s Disclosure Remix You’ll Want A Sam Smith Collaboration

by 1 min ago

Rico Love has produced hit songs for Usher, Beyoncé and Diddy, and now maybe Sam Smith should consider linking up with the hitmaker.

On Monday (October 6), Love posted a #TTLO (Turn the Lights On) remix to Disclosure’s hit track “Latch” onto his Soundcloud account. Rather than rap and sing over the ubiquitous dance beat, Love built a brand new instrumental around Smith’s soulful vocals, giving the song a sexier feel.

Love took other liberties, as well, singing and rapping, intertwining his performance with Smith’s. “Not afraid to tell you everything, I’m latching on, wish I could lock you up inside a dream,” Rico sings to set the tone on the record.

Hopefully, this remix isn’t the last time we hear Rico Love and Sam Smith together.

Mentally been many places, but I'm Brooklyn's own. Hip-hop gives me life!

Nat & Alex Wolff Are All Cats, Beards, And Feelings On These Brand-New Songs: Listen Now!

by 10 mins ago

Nat and Alex Wolff are on emotional overdrive on their new singles, “Where I’m Goin’” and “Rock Star” — and we’ve got the exclusive preview of all the pathos right here on MTV News and at Nat&AlexWolff.mtv.com.

The brothers (formerly of “The Naked Brothers Band”) have been releasing a cadre of folksy, borderline story-songs for the last few months now, previously dropping a duo of tracks on MTV News around the same time as “The Fault In Our Stars” came out — a movie that just happens to star Nat.

“We’ve gotten older since then,” Nat told MTV News, reflecting on their three years of growth since 2011′s Black Sheep. “Alex’s voice has changed… and our songwriting has gotten better. Alex has a beard which changes our sound, I don’t know why.”

There is a certain world-weariness to the brothers’ newest songs. “Where I’m Goin’” hints at a kind of bittersweet relationship replete with “shoulder pads and whiskey stains” and “the cats you love that I despise,” but the chorus is rallying, a nostalgia-inducing assertion: “Where I’m goin/ Where I’m goin/ Well, I don’t know yet/ I just know that I’m going home/ All I know is I’m going home.”

Related: Watch a deleted scene from ‘The Fault In Our Stars.’

And “Rock Star” — which appears in James Franco’s “Palo Alto,” in which Nat stars as a manic bad boy — speaks to a certain bone-deep dissatisfaction. “She turns to me and she whispers, ‘Hey man ...

Taylor Swift Reveals Her Hair Is A ‘Big Theme’ For New Album

by 17 mins ago

Last week, British Vogue unveiled their November issue starring Taylor Swift. We immediately noticed something was ~different~—but what was it? And then it hit us: Her forehead was visible for the first time in a long, long while. Well, it turns out the forehead-baring was an intentional move on photographer Mario Testino and Tay’s part—in fact, the pair worked together on Taylor’s first Vogue cover, and it was at that shoot that she decided to cut her Red-era bangs.

In a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot, Taylor and Mario discuss her hair and how her bangs “completely ended up changing the way that [she] looked for the next two years.” While the initial plan was just to have fake bangs under the hat, Taylor decided to cut them in the heat of the moment.

The duo go on to discuss the overall aesthetic she’s toying with for 1989, which, fittingly, mixes “’80s and ’90s styles” with classics. Taylor also casually mentions to Testino that her short hair is “a big theme in the album,” which, um, what?

Sure, that’s probably not quite what she meant to say, but I still want to know: Are there mentions to hair flipping made easier, or, like, entire songs dedicated to how styling short hair is different than long hair? Or, maybe, the references are more subtle with the words “chopped” or “flowing” thrown ...
