What If Tyler Perry Had Directed ‘Gone Girl’? See The Poster

by 12 mins ago

Artwork by Old Red Jalopy

Tyler Perry’s fantastic “Gone Girl” performance is an objective fact, but the first time he shows up in the new David Fincher movie, it’s as if he wandered in from a different movie.

Regardless of how well it turned out, it was an unexpected casting choice, and we couldn’t help but imagine what “Gone Girl” would be like if it were a more typical Tyler Perry movie.

Probably something like this.

Watch A$AP Rocky ‘Multiply’ In New Woozy, Technicolor Video

by 6 mins ago

Earlier today (October 2), A$AP Rocky promised that he’d be dropping something new at midnight, and obviously we hoped and assumed it’d be new music.

Like clockwork, the video for his new song “Multiply” dropped via his website flackojodyeseason.com and it does not disappoint.

Rocky and the rest of the A$AP mob dance through dark streets, fireworks and technicolor screens flashing surreal images. Juicy J also has a brief cameo during the clip’s intro.

Earlier in 2014, Rocky collaborated with more indie-leaning stars like Sam Smith and Lykke Li, but this video is back firmly in the realm of hip-hop.

Close listeners will remember that Rocky first performed this song at Coachella earlier this year—and that some of the lyrics seem to take shots at clothing brand BEEN TRILL.

Bath-Selfies Are Now A Thing Thanks To Miley Cyrus

by 40 mins ago

If you’re only going to follow one pop star on Instagram, the obvious choice is Miley Cyrus. Her Instagram is a veritable haven of art projects that turn into art installations, new tour costumes and installations, childhood pictures of herself photoshopped into memes, and so so so much more.

So what’s her latest Instagram project?

Bath-selfies.

Seriously! She is probably about to spawn a whole copy cat movement with these gifs and darkly-lit bubble bath photographs that began on Tuesday (September 30). What will they be called? Bathelfies? Belfies? (Oh wait, never mind, that one is taken).

Whatever we call ‘em, here’s a brief recap of Miley’s new movement.

It all started with this face mask “romantic” selfie.

Miley apparently discovered her new-found love for bubble baths in an attempt to give herself some TLC, captioning this one as “getting romantic with myself.”

Then came this borderline-risque selfie.

Miley carefully arranged a few disco balls to make sure she stayed well within Instagram’s harshly enforced no-nipple policy. Little did we know this was just the beginning…

Miley learns to GIF!

Now we get Miley bein’ Miley, blowing bubbles and appearing in bath-time-GIF-form. Who took this photo? We may never know.

Another gif, even more bubbles.

This was where Miley let us know the approximate number of baths she takes on average: “I take a vagillion baths a day,” she captioned this one.

Bath time = photo shoot.

Quick question, how is she keeping her phone dry throughout these selfie sessions?? That takes true ...

Watch A Super Intense Bradley Cooper In The Trailer For ‘American Sniper’

by 44 mins ago

Christmas just got a lot more interesting thanks to Clint Eastwood.

The Oscar-winning director has a new film called “American Sniper” dropping this December starring Bradley Cooper and the powerfully intense trailer just hit the web.

In the clip, Cooper plays Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. He’s on a roof, sniper rifle aimed, locked and loaded, methodically monitoring and detailing the unidentified people that appear while soldiers are on convoy in war-torn Iraq.

“Hold on, I got a woman and a kid 200 yards out, moving towards the convoy,” he says with alarm. “Her arms aren’t swinging, she’s carrying something. She’s got a grenade, she’s got an RKG Russian grenade she’s handing to the kid…”

The suspense then builds to a heightened crescendo as the sound of a heart beat grows louder, images of his family flash by and the base command tells him it’s “his call” on whether or not to take the kill shot.

“They fry you if you’re wrong,” says his spotter.

The film is based on Chris Kyle’s best-selling memoir about his life as the most lethal sniper in American military history.

“American Sniper,” which also stars Jake McDorman, Luke Grimes and Sienna Miller, hits theaters on Christmas Day in a limited release and expands nationwide on January 16.

Meet ‘Legless Suzy’ From ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’

by 8 mins ago

The teaser clips and videos for the upcoming season of “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” may have made fans wince, cower and shriek from fear, but underneath it all, the so-called “freaks” are just like everyone else.

FX premiered a special segment called “Extra-Ordinary Artists” Thursday (October 2) that allows its viewers to see “a unique life in a unique body.”

“People stare at something they don’t understand,” says Rose Siggins, the actress that plays “Legless Suzy.” “Because we’re different doesn’t mean we’re entirely different. We’re like you, we just come in different forms. I kinda like the way I am, I would never change it. I couldn’t imagine myself being, I guess what everybody calls normal cause this is my normal.”

Siggins goes on to explain that she was born with sacral agenesis, a disease in which all or part of the lower section of the spinal column has failed to form.

“My mom knew I was different and unique and everybody did stare at me,” she said. “I didn’t want to be a part of a ‘freak show’ in the sense of exploiting myself. I’ve pretty much lived a life where I haven’t done that.”

The married Pueblo, Colorado native, who had two children despite doctors’ warnings that no one with her condition had ever successfully given birth, described her character on the show as a “very scared and frightened person.”

“Mentally, you start thinking of yourself as ‘I’m not a whole person,’ so of course you would’ve joined a ...

Watch Mac Miller Make A Beat Using Three Random Records

by 21 mins ago

Mac Miller’s normally a good sport; so he’s down to try anything once, even “Rhythm Roulette.”

What’s that, you ask?

It’s a sampling game for producers. The good folks at Mass Appeal challenged the Blue Slide Park MC to find a record store in Los Angeles, blindfold himself, choose three records at random and then make a brand new beat by sampling his selection.

Sound like fun? It is when Mac’s involved.

The Run On Sentences Vol. 1 beat maestro chose Record Surplus in West LA, went straight to the Jazz section, tied a black bandana over his eyes, went fishing for vinyl and came up with his triple play: Charles Lloyd In The Soviet Union (1967), The Buddy Rich Band (1981) and Illumination! by the Elvin Jones/Jimmy Garrison Sextet (1964).

Back in his home studio, Larry Fisherman got to work.

“Before I get started, when I’m working on a beat I like to start with a good listen, and light reading,” he said before putting the needle on the first record and quietly reading.

During the session, which included adding his own layers of live keyboard and guitar, Mac’s father walked by and he urged him to speak to the people.

“How you doing? You guys take care of my son,” his Dad said.

By the end of the segment, Mac had crafted quite the head-nodding beat.

“Sue me,” he said, as a tongue-in-cheek nod to the legal issues associated with sampling.

Challenge accepted, challenge completed.

Lady Gaga’s New Tattoo Is A Lovely Monstrosity

by 28 mins ago

Lady Gaga is into tattoos—we already know this.

She once got inked live at a perfume launch. Then there was the time back in 2010 when she commemorated the release of Born This Way with a unicorn tattoo. After that, came the artpop tattoo.

Earlier this summer, she even honored her brand new collaborator Tony Bennett by getting a trumpet tattoo prior to the release of their joint record Cheek To Cheek.

So the news that she’s got another piece of ink comes as no surprise, but the fact that it’s a delightful homage to her fans the Little Monsters is a new twist. It’s basically a claw—but on Gaga it looks elegant:

Just in time for the creepy vibes of Halloween, she got a red-tinged claw right along the side of her back. It’s a graceful—if chilling—new addition to her already ample collection of ink.

She shared the tattoo on Instagram and gave it the fitting caption: “#Monster4Life.”

Before sharing the finished piece, she also posted some pictures of the tattooing process:

And of the artist, Eric Gonzalez, drawing the piece:

Gonzalez also posted a photo of his pre-sketched tattoo before it became a reality:

Oh and while it may not be permanent, Gaga’s inky eyeliner game in this pic is also a work of art.

Never change Gaga.

Questlove’s ‘Shake It Off’ Parody Might Be The Best One Yet

by 13 mins ago

The art of the parody is one that most people don’t grasp the delicacy of, but when done right, it can be used for both phenomenal commentary and hilarity.

Enter comedic genius Questlove and his sidekick “Captain” Kirk Douglas, who are happy to poke fun both at the predictable folk-stylings of ye olde Simon & Garfunkel and the new parody-spawning Taylor Swift single “Shake It Off.”

On “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” the dynamic duo interpolated “Shake It Off” with the chorus of Paul & Art’s iconic track “The Boxer”—the results are everything a parody should be.

Their somber sixties-inspired harmonies are accentuated by these serious-minded dance moves:

Honestly? Kirk’s turtleneck is right on the money for a Paul Simon look, and Questlove’s air cymbals are on point. Watch below:
