The persistent rumors that Marvel would be spinning off “Captain America” character Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) from a One-Shot on the “Iron Man 3” DVD into a full-length series got a shot in the arm today with the news that the show may already have a writing team on board.
Though Atwell has only appeared as the World War II-era girlfriend of Chris Evans’ Captain America twice — once in “Captain America: The First Avenger,” and then in the aforementioned Marvel One-Shot — she’s been a fan favorite in both of her appearances. A word of caution: so far, none of this has been confirmed by Marvel. We don’t know that Atwell is ready to film, there are writers on board, or a series is even a go. Is it even possible that Marvel could somehow be quietly pulling a “
Stay tuned for answers, as this one seems to be speeding towards something official.
