New Music From Radiohead Could Be Here Sooner Than You Think

by 26 mins ago

New music from Radiohead might be on the way!

Guitarist Johnny Greenwood told Mary Anne Hobbes’ of the BBC 6Music show that the band will be heading to the studio in September to record new music.

“We’re going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it’s sounding,” Greenwood said.

The group’s last album together was 2011′s King Of Limbs, and since they finished touring for its release, they’ve all been pursuing solo projects. Specifically, Thom Yorke has been touring with his side project Atoms For Peace, a supergroup of sorts that includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich among others.

Earlier in the year, Johnny’s brother Colin Greenwood who plays bass for Radiohead, said plans were up in the air.

“It’s all up in the air at the minute. Thom’s just come back from touring Atoms For Peace and he’s having some quiet time,” Colin said. “I’m sorry to be vague but we’re all just taking it easy at the moment. Just enjoying being at home and hanging out really. But at the same time, the vibe is very much Oxford and all good! It’s like that.”

Does this mean a new album? New songs? Could a record feasibly come together before the end of the year? We have so many more questions! Guess we’ll wait till September and see if any other reports of new music and recording sessions begin to surface.

‘The Wines of Westeros’ Will Have You Feelin’ Like Cersei Lannister

by 1 min ago

Yes, “Game of Thronesofficially has its own line of fine wine. So while there’s no more episodes until next year, at least we have something to sip on when the show comes back.

The series of wines is a project from an Australian advertising agency called Common Ventures. The Sydney company isn’t officially linked to the series, they just wanted to give fans something to share while watching episodes. The wines are sourced from local Australian wineries, which means they’ll likely be as sweet as those celebrated varietals from Dorne.

Jane Burhop of Common Venture said that the wines are meant to be consumed, not collected, and that they might help ease the pain of the show’s brutal habit of killing off characters.

“Whether this becomes a coveted item for the fans or a bottle that is opened with every episode, this wine is made to be drunk with friends and to help soften the blow of the shock and heartache as our favorite characters are slowly killed off,” said Burhop, adding that the characteristics of the wines were meant to mirror the houses themselves. “The reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust. The whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious.”

The website continues in the same vein, drawing associations between the wine and the show. The series is set to launch in conjunction with the Season 5 premiere of ...

These Gruesome ‘Gone Girl’ Posters Tease Tomorrow’s Trailer

by 9 hours ago

David Fincher‘s adaptation of “Gone Girl” is one of the most hotly-anticipated films of the year. Why? Hmmm maybe because he directed both “Social Network” and “The Girl WIth The Dragon Tattoo,” and we loved both of them a lot.

Plus, there’s the fact that the novel the movie is based on was a best-selling sensation. So much of a sensation, in fact, that today Twentieth Century Fox revealed a series of posters that tease, yup, another trailer. Groan. Teasers for a trailer? That’s sooooo 2014.

Whatever, we’re so excited for it that we’re biting anyway. The four new posters contain further clues about the disappearance of Amy Dunne (played by Rosamund Pike), and one shows a photo of her with her husband Nick Dunne (played by Ben Affleck) and several friends toasting at their wedding. But the photo is sealed in an evidence bag that’s ominously marked with “Happy Anniversary.”

The other shots also have the phrase “Happy Anniversary” and include a scalpel, a red thong, and a note that reads “This man may kill me.” Of course, the bottom half of the note has burnt marks, indicating, there may have been more to the clue! Dun dun DUN.

Maybe tomorrow’s trailer will help us tie these clues back in with what we already know? Which, you can quickly recap by watching the first trailer here.

Basically, Ben Affleck can’t find his wife anywhere and he’s going insane trying to find ...

Drake Was Too Sick To Perform At Wireless Festival, So Kanye Covered For Him

by 19 mins ago

Sure, sure, everybody is going to just report that Kanye West went on another rant at Wireless Festival last night. But honestly? They’re focusing on the wrong thing. What’s way more interesting is that Kanye played three Drake songs during last night’s set.

Also, the fact that Kanye was covering for Drake.

Kanye already headlined London’s Wireless Festival on Friday night, but when Drake was sick enough to cancel his own Saturday night headlining slot last minute, Kanye stepped in. Considering how often people accuse Kanye of being selfish, this was a pretty selfless act.

And the situation is a little funny given Drake’s recent boasts on Lil Wayne‘s first single off Tha Carter V. “I’m the only one to get the job done / I don’t know a n—- that could cover for me,” Drake sings at the beginning of “Believe Me.” If there’s anyone at all who can cover for Drake—it’s Kanye.

Playing a medley of “Trophies,” “We Made It,” and “All Me,” Kanye also shouted out Drake. “My homeboy Drake can’t be here but we still gotta rep for him tonight,” he said.

These gestures are definitely further proof of their growing friendship, which was cemented when Kanye appeared at OVO Fest last year. Drake also thanked Kanye on Instagram late last night.

“Man I appreciate Kanye playing “Trophies” at Wireless so much,” Drake wrote. “I want to be at all the shows more than anything in the world right ...

Pink Floyd Announce First New Music In Twenty Years

by 24 mins ago

Although last year saw the return of groups like Neutral Milk Hotel, The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine with new music, it still comes as a surprise that Pink Floyd will have a new album out in October. This year is the 20th anniversary of their last album, 1994′s Division Bell.

David Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, shared information about the new music via a Tweet last night, adding that it will be based on 1994 sessions with the late Richard Wright and that it’s his “swansong and very beautiful.”

The record will be called The Endless River, and Samson’s announcement sparked another, from singer Durga McBroom-Hudson, who toured with the band during the eighties and nineties. In a Facebook post, Durga confirmed her involvement with the project and shared a picture from the recording sessions.

Durga McBroom-Hudson's Facebook

“The recording did start during The Division Bell sessions (and yes, it was the side project originally titled The Big Spliff that [Pink Floyd's drummer] Nick Mason spoke about), which is why there are Richard Wright tracks on it.” she wrote in a further Facebook comment on the photo.

“But David and Nick have gone in and done a lot more since then. It was originally to be a completely instrumental recording, but I came in last December and sang on a few tracks. David then expanded on my backing vocals and has done a lead on at least one of them. That’s ...

by 8 mins ago

Jessica Simpson is officially a newlywed again! Jessica, 33, wore a custom gown by Carolina Herrera for the outdoor ceremony to wed former NFL player Eric Johnson, 34, today (July 5) in Santa Barbara, California.

The wedding was held at the San Ysidro Ranch with over 250 friends and family in attendance, including Jessica’s sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross, Jessica Alba and more.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the couple expressed their joy.

“We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment,” said their statement.

The couple began dating in May 2010 when they were introduced through friends, and have been engaged since November of 2010. But, they’ve had to put their wedding on hold twice, first for the birth of their daughter Maxwell, and then again for another pregnancy — their son Ace who was born last June.

Both the couple’s children were part of the ceremony. At just one year old, Ace was a ring bearer, and Maxwell, 2, was a flower girl and accompanied by Ashlee Simpson’s five-year-old son Bronx. Shailene Woodley Thinks Parents Should Stop Freaking Out About Miley Cyrus

by 6 hours ago

Shailene Woodley thinks that bullies should be a way bigger deal to parents than whatever Miley Cyrus is doing. The actress who plays the cancer-stricken and love-stricken Hazel in “The Fault In Our Stars” was Vanity Fair‘s July cover star, and she defended Miley in some of the outtakes from her cover story interview.

What it boils down to: Miley is just doing herself and it’s nobody’s business but her own.

“Miley isn’t rude or mean or cruel to anyone in her actions,” Shailene said. “She just does herself. And regardless of whether you agree with what she’s doing or not, it’s none of your business what she does. She’s not in the world doing mean things.”

Case and point—here’s one of Miley’s silly 4th of July outfits. Harmless, right?

“Why are all these parents or all these people freaking out about Miley being herself?” Shailene continued. “If you don’t want your kids to watch it, you know, you can change that situation at home, but don’t make a big deal of what she’s doing. Make a big deal about the bullies at school who are beating kids up.”

She may not consider herself a feminist, but she’s got strong-minded opinions about the way society judges young women and their behavior. You tell ‘em Shailene!

This Guy’s Potato Salad Kickstarter Has Raised Almost $2,000 In Two And A Half Days

by 5 mins ago

Kickstarter has been used to back some fabulous things, but it’s also been used for some pretty ridiculous crowdfunding. The latest?

A kickstarter for potato salad.

Because sometimes you need a little help saving up for those expensive ingredients like pickles, potatoes, mustard and mayo! It turns out, Americans really, really do love their potato salad, and the project was just quirky enough to pick up steam.

So far, the man behind the project, Zack “Danger” Brown of Columbus, Ohio has successfully raised $1,823 to make his potato salad.

Zack Brown / Via Facebook: ShutterHead-Studios

USA Today reported the story yesterday, and at that time, Brown had 87 backers and $340—in just one day that number has multiplied exponentially. During the writing of this post, another backer contributed $3, which is what pushed the new number to $1,823.

When we reached out to Zack by email, he admitted that he had no idea the project would get this big. “No way. With the project 1/10th of the way over, I thought we’d be somewhere between 1 and 2 dollars,” he wrote. “It has always been my dream to do something that would connect people all over the world. Did I think that would happen with potato salad? No. But Kickstarter has made my dreams come true!”

But, Brown hasn’t rested on his laurels–the goals for his potato salad making have increased as his funding grew. The original goal was a mere $10, after hitting that, Zack amended with some ...

The Russian Version of ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ Looks Amazing

by 1 min ago

Everyone’s favorite oddball comedy “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” has spread well beyond Philadelphia, and even past the borders of America itself. Yup, there’s now a Russian version of the show, and though it sounds almost bizarre enough to be part of a plotline, it’s actually true. The spinoff version will be called “It’s Always Sunny in Moscow” and there are clips of it posted on TNT Russia’s YouTube channel.

The name of the bar that they use in the Russian version isn’t called “Paddy’s Pub,” but instead, it’s titled “Philadelphia”—a great way to nod to the original show.

When you type the show’s name in Russian into YouTube, plenty more clips show up. Apparently, the first episode of the Russian version of the show aired on May 12 of this year.

All the characters are here: Max “Thick” Borisenko (Charlie Kelly), Sergei Kovalev (Dennis Reynolds), Alain Kovalev (Dee Reynolds) and Roman Makarov (Mac). Even the waitress, aka “girl with whom love Max” (Honestly, Google translate could use an update), is here!

Oh, and here’s the poster:

http://a-s-i-m.tnt-online.ru/

Here’s the synopsis we get from a translation of the description on the show’s official page:

“Strong friendship, true love, idealism, nobility and dignity, humility and kindness – all this has nothing to do with the heroes of the series ‘In Moscow Always Sunny.’ Four young heroes: Sergei Kovalev and Alain, Maxim Borisenko and Roman Makarov. They went to school together. They have their own business — a pub ...
