Is Daryl Dixon Gay? ‘The Walking Dead’ Showrunner Says… Stay Tuned?

by 18 mins ago

Earlier in the month, attention turned to some comments from “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, suggesting that Norman Reedus’ fan-favorite character, bow-wielding Daryl Dixon, could be gay.

Daryl’s sexuality hasn’t been addressed on the show, even though several fans frequently wonder about the rugged woodsman’s love life. Whatever Daryl’s sexual preference, it doesn’t sound like an answer is coming anytime soon.

In an interview with TV Line, “Walking Dead” show runner Scott M. Gimple says Daryl’s sex life “is not really addressed” in the show’s upcoming fifth season, though the show does plan to introduce a gay male character in the coming episodes.

Gimple added that the show isn’t “holding back information on Daryl’s sexuality as any sort of big reveal. The fact that there’s still a question as to what Daryl’s orientation is in Season 5 absolutely speaks to Daryl’s character; he is a very guarded, very closed-off individual in a lot of ways.”

“We have been able to see him ever so slowly open up and show the other characters aspect by aspect as to what makes him tick,” Gimple continued. “That’s been a very satisfying journey for all of us on the creative side to portray. [And] he’s still on that journey.”

In other words, the question remains about Daryl’s interests, and won’t likely resolve until after the coming season. On the bright side, that sounds pretty good for Daryl surviving until at least season six, right?

Homer Simpson Accepts The Ice Bucket Challenge, And It D’ohs Not Go Well

by 19 mins ago

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is everywhere now — even in Springfield.

The latest high-profile name to accept the challenge is none other than Homer Simpson, the donut-chomping nuclear power plant employee with a tendency to screw things up, badly. It’s no different here with Homer’s Ice Bucket Challenge, although in fairness, the disastrous results aren’t entirely on his shoulders.

Actually, they are entirely on his shoulders, in a literal sense, but, you know, semantics.

Watch Homer accept the challenge in the video below:

If that’s not enough Homer for you, he’s currently on television, non-stop, as part of FXX’s #EverySimpsonsEver marathon.

‘Full House’ Returns: Where Is The Tanner Family Now?

by 1 min ago

Whatever happened to predictability, the milkman, the playboy, and evening TV? Looks like we’re about to find out, as “Full House” is gearing up for a comeback.

After almost twenty years off the air, “Full House” has been eyed for a revival, with speculation that most, if not all, members of Danny Tanner’s household will be along for the ride. But what has life been like for the Tanners in the two decades since we saw them last? Has it all been filled with top-down drives down the Golden Gate Bridge, or have there been periods of darkness as well?

Let’s find out…

Danny Tanner

Is he still anchoring “Wake Up San Francisco,” or has neat-freak Danny evolved with the digital age? Perhaps he’s pioneered a new online version of the morning talk show, and even tapped into the dirtier sense of humor his real-life alter-ego is best known for.

Uncle Jesse

Considering that Jesse and the Rippers played on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last year, seems the years have had mercy on America’s best-haired uncle.

Rebecca Donaldson Katsopolis

Also appeared alongside Jesse on Fallon, also seeming to be doing well, probably up to her ears in worrying about Nicky and Alex as they get ready to graduate from college.

Nicky and Alex

Yeah, that’s right. Not only are Nicky and Alex college-aged now, they’re college graduate age, and old enough to take sexy shirtless selfies. Doesn’t that feel special?

Michelle Tanner

And she’s almost 30! ...

New ‘Better Call Saul’ Clip Asks One Very Big, Very ‘Bad’ Question

by 33 mins ago

Before there was Saul, there was Jimmy.

“Better Call Saul,” the “Breaking Bad” spinoff series focusing on Bob Odenkirk’s criminal lawyer, premieres early next year, but production is already well underway — as is the marketing campaign. Last night, during a “Breaking Bad Binge” marathon on AMC, a new clip for “Better Call Saul” premiered, complete with commentary from the show’s co-creators, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould.

In the video, Gilligan and Gould bring up the key question at the heart of the new series: Why in the world does a low-level attorney named Jimmy McGill need to reinvent himself as shady Saul Goodman?

“We’re about half a decade before the events of ‘Breaking Bad,’ before Walter White met Saul Goodman — but he didn’t start out this way. He’s Jimmy McGill,” Gilligan and Gould say of their leading lawyer. “How does Jimmy become Saul Goodman? And why? What kind of problem do you have that becoming Saul Goodman solves it?”

We’ll find out the answer when “Better Call Saul” arrives in February.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Just Won The Summer … Again

by 33 mins ago

It does not suck to be Star-Lord.

Chris Pratt’s galaxy-galavanting scavenger is officially the number one hero at the box-office this summer, now that “Guardians of the Galaxy” has won the honors of becoming the highest-grossing movie of the summer at the domestic box office.

During its fourth weekend in theaters, “Guardians” reclaimed the number one spot from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” with $17.6 million, bringing its total to $251 million in just four weeks. By this coming Friday, “Guardians” is expected to rocket (get it? Rocket?) past Marvel’s other 2014 hit, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” as the number one movie of the year.

Not bad for a bunch of A-holes.

The situation is considerably less happy for another comic book movie: “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” the sequel to 2005′s “Sin City,” which premiered this weekend in eighth place and just $6.48 million. That’s what they refer to in the biz as “going up in smoke.”

Box Office Top Five
1. “Guardians of the Galaxy”: $17.6 million
2. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”: $16.8 million
3. “If I Stay”: $16.4 million
4. “Let’s Be Cops”: $11 million
5. “When the Game Stands Tall”: $9 million

What movies did you see in theaters this weekend?

Batman Totally Exists! He Lives In Japan — Here’s Proof

So, Batman is real.

No, really. He’s not just a legend. He’s not just the central figure of your favorite superhero movies and comic books. He’s an actual, flesh-and-blood, motorcycle-riding man of mystery in the very real world — and there are pictures to prove it.

Over the weekend, Twitter user @snsd_mumin uploaded a series of photos featuring Batman riding a motorcycle on a highway in Japan. There’s really nothing more to say, other than, well, here’s a picture of Batman riding a motorcycle on a highway in Japan:

Watch Nick Offerman Sexually Terrorize A Bunch Of Cowboys In ‘The Gunfighter’

by 24 mins ago

No one knows how to orchestrate “a true ballet of death” quite like Nick Offerman.

The “Parks and Recreation” star lends his indistinguishable voice to director Eric Kissack’s “The Gunfighter,” an eight-minute comedy competing in TheWrap’s 2014 ShortList Film Festival, all about how one little voice can cause a whole lot of trouble. Set in the Wild West, the short begins as the titular gunfighter enters a saloon for a shot of whiskey. But as he approaches the bar, the words of an unseen narrator fill the air, spilling dark secrets about sexual misconduct and controversial desires for all the room to hear.
