Ashley flaunted his abs and Apollo’s belt (don’t worry, I didn’t know what that is either) — but it’s all for a good cause. Many male celebrities are posting photos like this to support Check One Two, a group that encourages guys to check themselves for cancer. Their campaign is called Feeling Nuts and it follows the successful “challenge” model of the ALS Association’s recent fundraiser.

With Rick Grimes and company back on the road, it’s time to meet some new faces. Up first: Someone with some serious “Horror” experience.

The Hollywood Reporter has the news that “American Horror Story” veteran Alexandra Breckenridge is joining the cast of “The Walking Dead” for its currently airing fifth season. Breckenridge appeared on the first season of “AHS” as the young, seductive Murder House ghost who you may recall from scenes like this:

Will she pull those same moves on Rick, Daryl Dixon or any of the other traveling survivors? Here’s what we know about Breckenridge’s character so far: Casting breakdowns call her “Samantha,” and describe her as “an attractive, strong, smart, charming and articulate woman with a vulnerable side. She’s a mother with a bohemian spirit, and a talented artist.”

THR notes that the character’s name and some of the details are likely to change between the breakdown and the show, so who’s to say what this “Samantha” is really all about. But it sounds like she’s important: Breckenridge is recurring throughout season five, and has an option to be promoted to series regular in season six.

Although Taylor Swift said she hasn’t gone on a date in 18 months, Track 3 on her album has to be about a relationship. Early Thursday morning (October 16), she posted the lyrics to a new 1989 track, as she will do for each song leading up the release of her fifth album.

“I say, ‘I heard you’ve been out and about with some other girl…” Taylor wrote in a spiral in marker.

Serious shade, Tay. Even though you claim you’re not confrontational, once in a while, you have to ask your guy what’s up.

These lyrics follow yesterday’s reveal of Track 2′s lyrics — we guessed that they’re about Lorde.

“Nice to meet you/ Where you been?/ I could show you incredible things,” she wrote on a card next to a diamond necklace. On Twitter, Lorde responded that Track 2 is her favorite — hence, why we think this song is about their friendship. But who knows?

If numerical order is to be believed, tomorrow’s lyrics should be from Track 4, which is “Out of the Woods,” according to iTunes. Since we already know these lyrics (thanks for not keeping us in the dark, girlfriend), maybe she’ll skip to Track 5.

As much — or, as little — as Swift is revealing, we need more context. And we’ll get exactly that when 1989 drops on October 27.

American Horror Story is back, to everyone’s perverse delight—well, everyone except clowns: The menacing Twisty in the fourth season’s Freak Show stands accused of stoking “coulrophobia” or clown fear. (My misgivings date waaayyy back to the days of Poltergeist and It so. Sorry, clowns.)

Series star Jessica Lange returned in the premiere last week, this time as Elsa, a Marlene Dietrich wannabe in Jupiter, Florida, circa 1952, when television first did to side shows what it has now done to movies—threatened them with extinction. But ringleader Elsa has a plan, and it involves conjoined twins (played by Sarah Paulson) and a three-boobed woman (Angela Bassett). Your move, I Love Lucy.

Turns out styling clothes for these characters, in addition to the rest of the so-called freaks, was a lot harder than it looks, because really, what DO you put on a woman with three boobs? (Pasties, for starters! Miley would approve). The friendly and talented Lou Eyrich, longtime series costume designer, talked us through her process.

MTV STYLE: It’s tempting to start with the three breasts of Angela Bassett, but let’s come back to that. I noticed so much red in the first two episodes. What’s the significance?

LOU EYRICH: None, other than we were trying to really sell the Technicolor aspect, so we’ve been using a lot of bright colors. We were going to go with more ...

Shailene Woodley is making the rounds to promote “White Bird in a Blizzard,” but her Wednesday night appearance on “The Tonight Show” was all about Orange Gourd In A Vise, as she and Jimmy Fallon played everyone’s favorite exploding pumpkin game.

For those not in the know, the Pumpkin Timebomb is created by snapping rubber bands one at a time around the middle of a pumpkin, with the pressure of the bands eventually becoming so much that (spoiler alert) the pumpkin goes kablooey. Thanks to a dramatic soundtrack piped in over the show’s loudspeakers, the entire ordeal is actually much more suspenseful than it has any right to be, right down to the point where the “bomb” goes off and Shailene does a little victory dance over its lifeless carcass.

Any megastar can drop by “The Tonight Show,” sit in a chair and tell a charming story about that one time their daughter pooped on daddy’s tuxedo on the way to the Oscars and then cleverly find a way to use it to plug their new WWII movie.

But Brad Pitt? He’d rather throw down some cardboard in a basement and get to windmilling, 2-stepping and toprocking with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon to de-stress, and, of course, silently plug his WWII drama, “Fury,” while throwing down some bad-ass breakdancing moves.

After Emma Watson made her inspiring speech in front of the U.N., many of her friends and former co-stars took to Twitter to voice their support, including her “Perks of Being a Wallflower” love interest Logan Lerman.

We caught up with Lerman while he was promoting his new film “Fury,” and he shared some more thoughts about Watson’s achievement and the launch of #HeforShe.

“A great speech, it was really, really powerful and moving,” Lerman said.

“Did it surprise me? In a way, it didn’t. I know that she’s an incredible person, who’s capable of doing amazing things. It’s great that she brought attention to that issue that isn’t normally brought up in that arena. I’m really proud of her, and I totally support equality. I’m with her all the way.”

”Fury” opens in theaters on October 17.

It’s official: Calvin Harris will perform at the 2014 MTV EMA.

The hit-making mastermind behind “Summer” will take the stage at the SSE Hydro arena in his native Scotland on Sunday, November 9, although the same cannot necessarily be said about his shirt given his past aversion to all manner of tees and button-ups.

But you should definitely hold onto your shirt, though, because Calvin isn’t the only artist being added to the performance lineup. Breakout stars Charli XCX, Kiesza and Royal Blood are all going to perform at the 2014 EMA, too. You are now free to rip your shirts off and roam about in a fugue-like state of excitement.

The EMA will air on MTV channels worldwide, and the U.S. telecast will kick off live from Miami at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT with Nick Cannon and Molly Tarlov and a “Jealous” performance from Nick Jonas. Back in Glasgow, metal legend Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award. Previously announced performers include Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran. The “Anaconda” rapper will also serve as the host of the 2014 EMA.

There’s no place like home — especially for Katniss Everdeen.

The “Hunger Games” champion returns to District 12 for the first time since leaving for the “Catching Fire” Quarter Quell, in a brand new trailer for November’s “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.” She does not like what she sees.

As revealed at the end of “Catching Fire,” District 12 is no more, leveled to the ground in retaliation for the rebellion’s rescue of Katniss and other ex-champs from the Quarter Quell arena — nothing short of a declaration of war, in the eyes of the Capitol and President Snow. Now, Katniss needs to step up and become the face of the rebellion, but there are concerns about her ability to perform.

“She won’t be able to handle it,” says rebel leader Alma Coin, played by Julianne Moore. “The games destroyed her.”

“No one else can do this but her,” implores Plutarch Heavensbee, played by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. “We need to make it personal for her.”

To that end, they send Katniss back to District 12, or what’s left of it. She walks through the ruins of her old home, all the way to her old house in Victors’ Village. There, she finds a few personal items — her favorite jacket, a picture of her late father — as well as one small glimmer of hope: a single, undamaged white rose, lost in a bouquet of dead flowers. Perhaps it’s all the inspiration she needs to keep going.
