So, a bunch of people thought Your Old Droog was actually Nas when the unknown rapper dropped his mixtape online earlier this summer. There weren’t any pictures or video of the neophyte, and there were similarities in the sonics, so conspiracy theories abounded. And then he dropped a video a little over a week ago, which basically put those rumors to rest.

But for anyone still doubting, the undeniable truth came to light on Wednesday night, when the Coney Island native performed his first show, at Webster Hall in New York City.

As you can see in the video above, the up-and-comer performed cuts from his recent release to the sold out crowd. Included in that group of fans, according to The New York Times, was MSNBC host Tamron Hall — whom Droog named a song after.

He also addressed those Nas comparisons.

“There was so many dope f–kin’ rappers out there,” he said of years past. “Now, it’s so much trash, some dope sh– come out, it’s like, ‘Yo, it can’t be dope on it’s own; somebody else did it.”

He wasn’t upset with the kind of chatter the theories generated, though. “Good lookin’, though,” he said. “Y’all my street team.”

Today Joan Rivers passed away at the age 81, and during her tenure on the small screen, she was known for her biting wit and, most notably, her daring red carpet reporting for E!’s Fashion Police show. The program, which debuted in 2010, featured co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos–not to mention any surprise guests that stopped by along the way.

But Joan had been securing a place on the red carpet long before then: she started covering awards shows in 1994 with her daughter, Melissa, and celebrities have been under her style surveillance ever since.

When you’ve got one of the biggest rap songs of the summer, why not go soak up some sun and live it up on the beach? That’s exactly what Rae Sremmurd did for the video for “No Type,” their “No Flex Zone” follow up.

Kickin’ it by the water, walking the boardwalk, hanging out with some lovely ladies — life looks pretty good for the duo from Mississippi. And why not? After all, they did just drop the “No Flex Zone” remix featuring Nicki Minaj and Pusha T.

The Mike Will Made It-signed brothers are getting ready to drop their debut EP, SremmLife, though there’s still no exact date on the project.

As the world absorbs the death of legendary comedian Joan Rivers today and remembers her legacy, archives and old appearances are revisited.

You won’t have to look too far back, however, to find Rivers facing the issue of death head-on and saying that she’s not afraid.

In a March 2014 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Rivers made her statement, loud and clear, no mention of Beyonce-esque wind tunnels at funerals or a guest list including Meryl Streep.

“You’re not afraid of death,” Fallon said. “You’re not afraid of death and getting older.

“Well, too late for getting older,” Rivers quipped immediately. “On my bucket list, number one is wake up. No, I’m not afraid. My father was a doctor, so I was around death all my life. I was very used to it because he was a f**king doctor.”

The segment was cut short for time, but the sentiment is clear.

Like many Apple customers, I’ve been coping with a cracked iPhone 5 screen for months now, waiting in anticipation for the company’s new iPhone release, and according to The New York Times, we won’t be waiting much longer.

The new products will be unveiled next Tuesday (September 9) in the official keynote conference that iPhone aficionados have come to expect each fall, but some of the details have already been confirmed for two new models of the iPhone 6 and a brand new, wearable computer that’s been dubbed the “iWatch.”

Rumors about the wearable computer watch have been swirling for a few months now, but the Times report confirms earlier revelations from the Wall Street Journal—so it’s pretty much safe to say the iWatch is a go. However, the Times’ sources say the watch probably won’t be available until next year.

Both the watch and the two new iPhone models will feature near-field communication — or NFC — which is essentially an e-payment system that allows users to purchase things wirelessly. It’s akin to the tap to pay system that’s been rolled out in devices made by several other media companies like Samsung, but never adopted by Apple until now. The inclusion of NFC allows the iWatch to go beyond the fitness and health functions that competitors have zeroed in on for similar devices, although it will also include fitness-related features.

Sharp-tongued comedian Joan Rivers, who has been in and summarily mocked the public eye for more than 50 years, died today (September 4) following complications with a throat surgery.

“Maybe you take the worst thing in the world and make it funny, it’s a vacation for a minute from horror,” Rivers once said in an interview with CNN (before famously giving the anchor the what-for and leaving the interview early).

That’s exactly what she did, making us laugh about everything. In the following nine clips spanning her career, she cracks wise about everything from sexuality, her boobs, marriage and death.

1. The Author Spot

In this 1986 interview, the comedian jumps from jokes about aging (a theme that would continue through the next nearly three decades of her career), marriage and her early career. “I went to buy sexy underwear, and they immediately gift wrapped,” the then-53-year-old said.

2. Right Back Up

In 1974, appearing on the “Carol Burnett Show,” Rivers showcased a bra “made of all rubber” which would allow her to “fall down, bounce right back up,” and joked that she was “such a dog, to get me down the aisle they threw a bone” when she got married.

In an interview with MTV Act, Rivers spoke about her memoir, her charitable work and pissing off Queen Elizabeth.

Congrats are in order for “Avengers” star Scarlett Johansson, who has given birth to a baby girl named Rose! This is the first child for the actress and her fiance, Romain Dauriac.

According to a statement from the actress’ rep sent to the AP, the mother and child are doing well, and “the couple is seeking privacy and are supporters of the No Kids Policy, the celebrity effort to keep famous folks’ children out of the public eye.”

Johansson has had a blockbuster year with appearances in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Lucy,” and “Chef.” Next year she’ll appear in the “Avengers” sequel “Age of Ultron,” which had its filming schedule switch around to accommodate her pregnancy.

There was no statement at this time on whether they named the baby Rose because that’s another shade of red, like Scarlett. Just saying.

Want proof life isn’t fair? Max, whose sole prerogative has been to keep the peace on “Finding Carter,” is now fighting for his life after looking down the barrel of a gun.

On Tuesday’s episode, the show’s consummate nice guy was mistakenly shot when Crash, who flashed his pistol at the gas station cashier, accidentally set the weapon off and sent a bullet through Max’s chest. As it missed Max’s heart by only a hair, it’s still unclear whether he’ll make it out of surgery alive.

But he has to.

Ever since he followed Carter along to the Wilson household, he’s become a sort of glue that’s pieced each member of the family back together. Elizabeth, David and their kids are far from perfect, but with Max’s help, they’re repaired. Look at five very good reasons that it’s crucial that he survive the night, and stay tuned for the next “Finding Carter” episode to see if he pulls through.

1. He’s Grant‘s big brother.

Though Grant’s got sage wisdom to spare, his words usually fall on deaf ears around the Wilson house. That all changed once Max showed up, though, and something as simple as the guys playing video games through the afternoon proved to Grant that his words had value, and that he wasn’t alone.

ILOVEMAKONNEN has already collaborated with one of the biggest names in music when Drake showing up on his “Club Going Up On A Tuesday” remix. But the Atlanta-based upstart also has some music in the stash with another pop juggernaut.

“Me and Miley Cyrus are friends; I don’t have her number, but we’re friends,” the singer and rapper said with a smile in a recent interview with MTV News. “We’re online friends and in-person friends.”

That personal relationship is also a working one, it turns out.

“I got a song with her — wrote a few songs for her,” he said. “Working on her new album. Doing some stuff with Mike Will and her.”

“It’s almost like a Grammy nomination song, because it’s kind of heartfelt, and almost country,” he added. “It’s gonna be deep when it comes out. It’s definitely not like the clubby type of poppy record. It’s more like a real timeless, heartfelt record that’s gonna be picked up in movies and sh–. Girls are gonna cry over their ex-boyfriends to it, and the same for guys crying over their girl.”

There’s another track, where the newbie — recently signed to Drizzy’s OVO Sound — takes the lead. “We have one where I’m more of the lead on the vocals, and it’s… relationship based and like, ‘Alright, you wanna leave me, then go ahead and leave me. But I loved you.’”
