Here’s A Hilarious Preview Of ‘The Simpsons’ And ‘Family Guy’ Crossover That’s Coming

by 7 mins ago

Our beloved and enigmatically-located Springfield takes in some “albino visitors” according to Homer Simpson, when “The Simpsons” and “The Family Guy” combine for “The Family Guy” season premiere on Fox.

Entertainment Weekly is hosting the episode’s (aptly titled “The Simpsons Guy”) nearly five-minute preview, which was debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.

Judging from the clip, the crossover merges tropes from both shows to hilarious effect. While Peter Griffin advises his family to not drink the water (“everyone around here looks like they have hepatitis”), he warms up to Homer over a shared love of donuts.

Bart and Baby Stewie prank call Moe (spoiler: Stewie kinda misses his mark).

And the two families seem to be getting along well, especially Homer and Peter, who head to Moe’s Tavern for a beer.

But trouble ensues when the Pawtucket Patriot Ale Peter shares with Homer tastes suspiciously like Duff, and things take a fighting turn:

And, well, things only get weirder from there in the preview, but we’ll let you see for yourself. The hour-long “The Simpsons Guy” airs on September 28 on Fox.

The Internet Was Created So We Could Watch This Puppy And Baby Cuddle

by 4 mins ago

There’s two things that are almost equal amount of cute on the Internet Scale of Cuteness: a puppy and a baby. Now, cats have their own domain as well and we’ll give them that. But puppies and babies have this sense of innocence and sweetness that makes them endlessly irresistible.

Which is why watching this Pitbull puppy named Clyde climb up and cuddle with brand new baby Eisleigh is almost too much for my heart to handle.

It may be only a fifteen second clip, but it’s enough to call the entire universe and our role in it into perspective. This ten week old baby and eight week old puppy are so adorable and so in love that it seems like we have reached the pinnacle of cute internet culture.

Could the relationship between this delightfully cute odd couple be our crowning moment??

I’ll say it: Clyde and Eisleigh are the reason that the internet was ever created. It’s all downhill from here folks. So put that video on repeat, make some gifs, and get to weeping. Which second is your favorite? Mine’s right around 11.

Four ‘Mad Max’ Posters That Show Why The Movie Made Heads Explode At Comic-Con

by 37 mins ago

Thus far at San Diego Comic-Con, the clear winner of the Damn This Movie Looks Siiiiiiick award goes to “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The reaction from attendees at the film’s Hall H presentation (part of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s slate) was ecstatic, even by the standards of a rather excitable crowd.

Our reporter on the ground was not alone with this tweet:

For the rest of us back at MTV HQ in San Diego, and the approximately 99.99999999999-percent of the world that was not lucky enough to witness the madness inside Hall H, Warner Bros. debuted four “Mad Max” posters that capture the furious beauty of director George Miller’s film.

Soon There Will Be A Beastie Boys Mural On The ‘Paul’s Boutique’ Corner

by 1 hour ago

The Beastie Boys‘ landmark sophomore album, Paul’s Boutique, is twenty-five years old this year. As you’ll recall, the cover art featured a photo from the corner of Manhattan’s Rivington and Ludlow, and now the famous intersection will boast a mural paying homage to the Beasties.

Brooklyn artist Danielle Mastrion began painting the mural, which was spearheaded by hip-hop fan LeRoy McCarthy, on Saturday (July 26).

Last summer, the late Adam “MCA” Yauch was honored when Brooklyn Heights’ Palmetto Park was renamed after him. Surviving members Ad Rock and Mike D have been working on a memoir, which is slated for release in 2015.

New York wouldn’t be the same without them, this mural will help honor their legacy. RIP MCA, we’ll never forget you.

‘Warcraft’ Comic-Con Teaser Gives Us All The Kings And Monsters We Could Ever Need

by 1 hour ago

Duncan Jones, director of “Warcraft,” made a return to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H for the second year in a row. Last year, he popped out at the Legendary panel to show off concept art and announce that “Warcraft” was happening. This year, he had a bit more to show, having finished filming only two months ago. The movie, featuring all kinds of non-humans and crazy magic, will require a large amount of post-production wizardry.

“It is such a technical challenge,” Jones said of the film.

Nonetheless, Jones was able to deliver a short tease of the film, featuring quick shots of kings and warriors of both the human and orc varieties, while dramatic voiceovers framed the conflict the movie will depict.

“Our home is destroyed, there is nothing to go back to,” one intoned, while another asked, “Is war the only answer?”

This one is going to be epic, we can already tell.

To tide us over until the teaser footage hits the web, Legendary released a brand new motion logo for the film. Check it out below.

“Warcraft” will hit theaters March 11, 2016.

Zachary Quinto Explains Why He Can’t Return To ‘Heroes’

by 2 hours ago

When “Heroes: Reborn” was announced last spring we were excited, but also extremely curious as to which of the original series’ stars would return. Would Hiro swing his sword once again? Would Hayden Panettiere get another chance to play the cheerleader saving the world? Would Zachary Quinto return as the evil, power-stealing Sylar?

Err, well, sounds like a pretty definitive “no” for that last one.

Quinto himself stopped by MTV News HQ at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, and decided to clarify his stance on “Heroes” once and for all.

“Tim [Kring] and I have actually been in touch,” he explained, referring to the show’s producer. “I love Tim Kring, I love what he does. His imagination, his mind, and his ability to execute it are all so impressive. He brought me in early, you know? He really changed my whole life in so many ways. I feel so excited for them, that they’re doing it again.”

Sounds great! However, Quinto’s excitement does not, in this case, translate into appearing in the project.

“He has new, creative ideas that he wants to put out there, and so do I, in other ways,” he continued. “We have connected about that. I wish them so much good fortune with it, I can’t wait to watch it, but I don’t think I’m going to be a part of it. We’re all on different paths, and that path got me to where I am, but I can’t just go back to it because of that. And I ...

Wish Kim Gordon Or Yoko Ono Was Your Teacher? Check Out School Of Doodle

by 2 hours ago

How would you like to have your teacher be Kim Gordon, Sia or Cat Power?

If only every high school was like School Of Doodle, a “peer-to-peer, self-directed learning lab dedicated to activating girls’ imaginations through entertainment, education and community,” which launched a Kickstarter campaign this week. Should it reach its goal of $75,000 by August 23, the free, online school for girls will be open by late 2014.

In only three days, the campaign is already more than halfway to meeting its goal—it’s already raised almost $40,000! Donations start at $1, which gives funders a thank you on the website, and those born before 1996 can sign up to the site’s test phase. Those who donate $50 will receive a “coloring book” of doodles made by the aforementioned arts teachers along with artists/musicians like Yoko Ono and Courtney Love, actresses like Natasha Lyonne, filmmakers, comedians and more.

While it’s called a school, the campaign explains that it’s more of an “endless obstacle course for the imagination.” It’s also not like regular school in that participants will have access to lessons whenever they want; it’s an arts-focused extracurricular that expounds on formal education.

The idea for the school came to co-founder Molly Logan, three years ago. She wanted to make art and culture more accessible by pushing the arts outside of institutions.

“I became obsessed with why there was no Khan Academy for Creativity. At the same time, I was working with the brilliant ...

OMG! Fifth Harmony Debuted A Brand New Song In Texas Last Night

by 2 hours ago

Check out Fifth Harmony performing new tune, “Reflection,” while opening for Austin Mahone’s tour in his hometown of San Antonio, TX, on Friday. The song isn’t officially out yet, but a fan captured the new track on video, so we’re happy to give you a sneak peek!

Can you hear the crowd go crazy with screaming when the girls ask if they are ready for new music? I think we’re all ready for it.

Dressed in summery white, the VMA nominees delivered the sultry R&B number, complete with slinky choreo. Sharing the sentiment of Carly Simon’s classic “Your So Vain,” the gals sing about a guy who’s confusing his game for the catch he has in front of him: “Boy, I ain’t talking about you/I’m talking to my own reflection.” Tell it like a “Bo$$” ladies!

The song presumably hails from Fifth Harmony’s forthcoming debut studio LP. 5H will be touring with Austin through September 9.

Hear The Hilarious Story Behind Tyler Posey’s Terrifying Broken Toe Instagram Pic

by 22 mins ago

Tyler Posey is not a shy man. He is not a quiet man. He is not a man lacking in jump-around, shake-it-out, have-a-damn-good-time-at-all-times enthusiasm. That’s why we love him.

If for some reason you needed any proof of what makes Tyler tick, just check out the (NSFW) Vine he posted on MTV’s account in the early, early morning hours on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con.

And, hey, sometimes that zest for life results in bodily injury. Or, more specifically, a broken toe. To wit:

At least we think that’s a toe. The “Teen Wolf” star says it’s a toe. So we’ll go with toe.

In case there were any confusion, though, Tyler was more than happy to show it off for us during MTV’s live stream, explaining how he sustained the injury while cartwheeling into the “Teen Wolf” panel in Hall H.

“Let me show you,” he said. “It’s disgusting!”

Get well soon, buddy – we’re pulling for you!

Move Over Cosplay: Comic-Con’s Very First “Geek Couture” Fashion Show Is Incredible

by 23 mins ago

Fangirl apparel company Her Universe has teamed up with teenage outpost Hot Topic and Nerdist Industries to present Comic-Con’s first ever fashion show “Geek Couture.” The Her Universe Fashion Show will feature 36 different looks created by 36 designers. What’s special about this is that the two winning designers (one of which is chosen by a panel of judges, the other by the audience), will co-design an exclusive collection with Her Universe founder Ashley Eckstein for Hot Topic!

Her Universe also provided a variety of suggestions (provided below) for potential looks. There seems to be an emphasis on actual wearable fashion instead of cosplay, which is what you’d normally find at a con, which is refreshing especially since “Geek Fashion” usually tends to fall into either cosplay or … t-shirts. Not only is presenting more wardrobe options extremely savvy, so is the push towards actively courting female fans.

Fan favorite Loki makes an appearance in a smart overcoat, with gold and green embroidery. His signature horns make an appearance as a fun little hat that wouldn’t seem out on Princess Beatrice‘s head. Is it just me or are Loki’s shoes giving major “Maleficent” vibes? Meanwhile Doctor Who’s Tardis is transformed into a lovely cobalt blue coat dress.
