Everyone knows the ’90s: We’ve all rocked velcro and off-the-shoulder tees, reflected neon colors onto our Tamagotchis and coveted an original tuxedo Furby. Knowledge of this prior decade seems so ubiquitous that it’s hard to imagine a person who isn’t a walking encyclopedia of trivia from late last century.

Unless, of course, those people were barely even a thought in their parents’ heads.

“Boy Meets World” was a staple show of the ’90s, a sitcom that followed Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) through his adolescence. Everyone watched it, and everyone loved it. Except for the stars of its new spin-off series, “Girl Meets World,” who weren’t even born yet.

Stars Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who head up the next generation of the show, stopped by MTV News headquarters in New York City to chat about the show. Of course, we couldn’t help ourselves from giving them a pop quiz on the best decade they never got to experience for themselves. What do Carpenter and Blanchard think a pog is? What about gak? OK, so I don’t want to whip out a corncob pipe, hike up my dad pants (Pleated, For His Comfort™), and start lecturing Nash Grier on what he should be making Vines of. He’s got over 8 million followers on the social-media platform — he’s knows what he’s doing. But, like, I’d say hanging out with Justin Bieber would warrant at least one six-second video or two, wouldn’t you?

Well apparently, Nash didn’t see the value in recording such an encounter, so all we get from his meet-up with the oft-shirtless “Confident” singer are a selfie and a group photo on the 16-year-old viral star’s Shots profile, plus a photo on Bieber’s Instagram.

It’s done when he says it’s done — and he’s not done yet.

Despite the conclusive ending of “Breaking Bad,” cancer-stricken meth kingpin Walter “Heisenberg” White hasn’t finished causing chaos quite yet. At least, the possibility of his return to television is greater now than ever before, now that creators of “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul” have confirmed that their show features a “flexible” timeline.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, “Saul” co-creator and executive producer Peter Gould revealed that the show features “scenes that move back and forth over several decades, including the era where Walter White cooked and sold crystal meth.”

“One of the great things about having a time line which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before ‘Breaking Bad,’ during ‘Breaking Bad,’ and after ‘Breaking Bad,’” said Gould. “That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on ‘Breaking Bad.’”

One such character is Mike Ehrmantraut, the ice-cold hit man played by Jonathan Banks, already confirmed for a series regular role on “Better Call Saul.” But the fact that “Saul” takes place concurrently with “Breaking Bad,” at least in part, makes it clear that Heisenberg could reemerge at some point down the line — something that seems likely to happen, given that the show has already been ordered for two full seasons.

“Better Call Saul” premieres next year.
