Watch Andrew Garfield And Emma Stone Have The Worst Makeout Session Ever On ‘Saturday Night Live’

by 05/04/14

Andrew Garfield was admittedly nervous for his first time hosting on the “Saturday Night Live” stage, so he sought the advice of his “Amazing Spider-Man 2″ co-star (and real-life love interest), Emma Stone. As Garfield began his monologue, Stone popped up to help him along. She clued him in to the “SNL” band, who laugh at everything, and suggested he be a little self-deprecating, to which Garfield replied with a goofy smile, “I am a terrible father!”

Garfield channeled a different kind of super star in the Celebrity Family Feud sketch, doing his best heavy-breathing as Justin Timberlake. American musicians faced off against international ones, with appearances by Bruno Mars (Nasim Pedrad in a fedora), Skrillex (Kyle Mahoney), Shakira (Kate McKinnon in a white pantsuit), Drake (Jay Pharoah) and Aidy Bryant as Adele.

Although we know Garfield has many musical talents, as demonstrated with his guitar playing on “The Tonight Show” earlier in the week, in the next sketch we learn that he is not a fan of Beyonce. Turns out “Drunk In Love” just “doesn’t do it” for the actor. He is forced to go on the run for speaking ill of the Queen Bee, dodging aggressive pursuits to track him down and make him do the “Single Ladies” dance.

Garfield finally puts the Spider-Man suit to good use when he and Stone step into their roles from the movie, standing in front of a green screen to shoot their kissing scene. They have difficulty nailing the makeout (although ...

So, Andrew Garfield Is In Drag For An Arcade Fire Video

by 05/03/14

I’m not fully sure what is happening here, but Andrew Garfield is dressed in drag for the new Arcade Fire teaser. And he shaves his head.

The band released a 20-second clip in preparation for the video for “We Exist,” a song about the gay community and acceptance.

Garfield is seen wearing a lacy white dress and a blonde wig, limping insecurely around Coachella‘s festival grounds. In another shot, he shaves his head in front of a mirror, sighing heavily in a black bra.

“We Exist” is the third single off Reflektor, and the band is currently on their Reflektor Tour. Garfield, however, is on the big screen, playing Spidey in the “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” out now.

Mac Miller’s Weirdest Vines Will Leave You Really Confused

by 05/03/14

A year ago, Mac Miller was one of the most active celebs on Vines, posting like eight vines every half hour. And most of them where just of him smoking. (I went through a dark time where I almost unfollowed him because he was clogging my feed.)

But somewhere between then and now, Larry Fisherman got too busy to Vine. I don’t know, he was out doing better things, like working on his new music that’s due out on Mother’s Day.

Fortunately, Mac’s Vine hiatus ended on Thursday when he posted a slew of confusing and mysterious 6-second clips, calling himself the Old Jewish. I’m not sure if that’s a title to something, or just Mac being Mac.

Now that the rapper is back on Vine, let’s celebrate by going back and looking at his weirdest, grossest and confounding Vines.

Here’s one of the Vines he recorded on Tuesday. I weeded them out so you wouldn’t have to listen to this duck noise he’s taken a liking to.

Sigh, these dance moves. I am crushing HARD.

Going back now to the days of Mac past — 188 days ago, when he was a Vine regular.

OK, I’m really sorry I included this. But I left all the green stuff and (most of) the swearing out. Oh yeah, and all the peeing Vines.

Sometimes he really tries. He does.

After that, who knew he could play like this?

Remember that time he got the Red Hot Chili Peppers stuck in his head?

And when he gave us some great advice about ...

7 Beyonce And Jay Z Pics That Prove There’s No Place Like Courtside Seats

by 05/03/14

Just try to have more fun than Jay Z and Beyoncé. I wish you luck.

Last night at the Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors game, Jay and Bey lived up to their cute-couple status in courtside seats. The Nets beat the Raptors 97-86 in game six (Sorry, Drake), but will have to win game seven to advance in the NBA playoffs.

“Hold up, Bey, did you see that?”

You Might Want To Sit Down: Hilary Duff Is Recording An Ed Sheeran Song

by 05/03/14

Reporting by James Lacsina

Hilary Duff is coming clean about her upcoming album, her first LP since Dignity 7 years ago. And it turns out, Ed Sheeran will be involved.

“I’m working with a lot of people. I’m still writing, so that process is still going on,” she told MTV News on the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards red carpet. Hilary’s working with songwriters and producers like Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad, among others.

Wearing an orange pout and voluptuous top knot, the singer/actress and mom of 2-year-old Luca was hyped to be talking about her new project, supposedly out in the fall. In fact, she was so hyped that while she was rattling off details, she casually slipped a HUGE detail.

“I’m cutting an Ed Sheeran song next week, which I’m really excited about,” she said while listing everything about her new music, including that a single should be out “soon.”

Wait, rewind. Ed Sheeran?? Yes!

Describing the album as an “earthy, indie-pop vibe,” Duff explained what it means to be returning to the studio after taking a hiatus from releasing music.

“It feels good to be in the studio. It feels good to be talking about my last few years — the high points and the low points,” she said. “I really just want to be honest and be an open book for my fans to know where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, how I feel and all that good stuff. So, I should have a single soon, and an album by the ...

For A Guy Who’s So Happy, Pharrell Actually Cannot Stop Crying

by 05/03/14

Pharrell needs a tissue. Can somebody please get this guy a tissue?

It seems like his uber-successful single “Happy” is making the producer weep.

While accepting the Innovator Award at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night, Skateboard P clasped his mouth before taking his trophy from friend Gwen Stefani, overwhelmed with the accolade and the cheers from the audience.

And don’t think we didn’t catch that tear, P.

Shaking his head in disbelief, he said “I never thought in a million years I’d be standing here as an artist.”

“All I did was write the songs, and you guys did all the heavy lifting, all the hard work, all the millions of views on YouTube,” he said.

It was because of his fans that he got emotional during an Oprah Winfrey interview. I’d tell him to get it together, but his tears are coming from such a pure, genuine, joyous place that I can’t help but get emotional too.

Does Pharrell’s Mickey Mouse Band-Aid Make Him The New Nelly?

After Oprah showed him a clip of how people all over the world recreated and danced to “Happy,” he couldn’t help but break down. “Why am I crying on Oprah?” he joked.

“It’s overwhelming because I love what I do. I just appreciate the fact that like people have believed in me for so long that I could make it to this point to feel that.”

Nicki Minaj Hides Some Big News In Soulja Boy Track: Listen To ‘Yasss Bish’ Now

by 05/03/14

Nicki Minaj is letting her rapping speak for itself. She’s left her colorful wigs, fancy robes and tutus behind — along with the hyper-pop production of some of her biggest hits — and now she’s getting back to her roots.

Her new song “Yasss Bish,” featuring Soulja Boy, does just that.

Dropped on Saturday (May 3), the track starts out with Soulja Boy’s intense 808 drum hits and a sinister, echo-y loop. And don’t forget about the bell that’s ringing that tells you Nicki’s about to take you to church.

Production aside, Minaj’s vocals are what stands out. Her voice is melodic, but her message is fierce. “I am the queen bee ’cause I’m a machine,” she raps. (Move over Queen Bey, I guess.)

She even references ex Clippers owner Donald Stirling, who was booted from the NBA after making racist comments. “I don’t f— with you n—as, I own the Clippers,” she prods.

Listen carefully to the track though, because hidden in all those brags is a very important announcement:

“Droppin’ my single in two weeks/ The Pink Print album a movie.”

Wait,whaaaaa? Yassssssssssss Bishhhhh!!!

The track follows “Lookin’ Ass,” “Danny Glover (Remix)”and “Chi-Raq.” Earlier in the morning, Young Money founder and labelmate dropped a track of his own — “Believe Me” with Drake, the first single off Tha Carter V.

Also, can we talk about how Pennsatucky from “Orange Is The New Black” serves as the single art? Amazing.

A Brief History of ‘Star Wars’ Celebration May The Fourth

by 05/03/14

Who would have thought Margaret Thatcher’s election would be the genesis of a worldwide, annual celebration of all things “Star Wars?” Yet that’s exactly how May The Fourth began.

In 1979, Thatcher was congratulated on becoming the first ever female Prime Minister of Britain by the London Evening News with a half page ad that stated, “May The Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations.”

“Star Wars” had been released two years earlier, and its cultural impact was enough that the pun on “May The Force Be With You,” one of the movie’s catchphrases, was universal enough to make sense in a British print ad.

Not the print ad, but an actual photo taken from around the same time.

The phrase continued to be in use, and picked up steam after the Internet started to let people socialize more in a short, pithy manner.

It wasn’t until 2011, though, that fans began to co-opt the day as a celebration. Toronto Underground Cinema in Canada celebrated the day with a costume contest, film festival and more. Other venues picked up on the idea, and it continued to gather momentum.

In fact, the holiday got so popular that starting in 2012, the next day was jokingly called “Revenge of the Fifth,” a joke on the “Star Wars” movie title “Revenge of the Sith.” It might also have something to do with that day being Cinco de Mayo, but to this day fans still like to let their “evil ...

Drake And Jay Z: Best Frenemies Forever?

by 05/03/14

Listening to Drake and Jay Z‘s lyrical jousting over the past few weeks has been endlessly entertaining, especially since the shots have been so mild that they’re barely doing any damage — save for some possible irritation on Hov’s part. The term “frenemies” doesn’t get much use in rap circles, but what else would you use to describe the relationship between two of rap’s biggest superstars, who are caught up in a back-and-forth dance of collaborating, then playfully warring with each other? When compared to Jay Z’s past beefs, with artists like Nas and Cam’Ron, does this count as a real feud?

Drake still isn’t ready to accept his crown for being the king of subliminal shots, but we all know that he’s been eyeing The Throne for some time. He flat out denied that he was taking a shot at Jay and ‘Ye when he rapped, “I’m just feeling like the throne is for the taking, watch me take it,” on “I’m On One” — but let’s be real, no one believed him.

Does Drake respect Jay Z? Absolutely. But does he also think that he’s now in a position to battle with the greatest? Absolutely.

It ain’t easy to get a feature from Hov, since the God MC has always been strategic in aligning himself with those who are also destined for greatness, but that has worked in Drizzy’s favor. Jay has given Drake coveted features on tracks like “Light Up,” and, most recently, on “Pound ...
