Nas Confirms Album In The Works: ‘I Found It’

With all of the fanfare surrounding the 20th anniversary of Nas' Illmatic last week, you could almost forget that he still makes new music, too. Almost. But fear not: a new album is fully in the works, and Esco has been in with some super producers to get it ready.

"I started working with [Timbaland], I want to say a year and a half ago," Nas told NPR . "I think it was the same year I dropped my last album, Life is Good, [in 2012]. I started with Tim and it felt really powerful."

Yet, as powerful as it was, something just wasn't quite right. "I stepped back from it," Nasty continued. "Tim's like, 'What are you doing?' and I'm like, 'I just need a minute to like ‒ I just need a minute to take it all in, just live a little and enjoy day-by-day stuff and daily stuff I'm doing.' It's just ‒ I didn't want to go back in the studio that quick. I felt like I needed to be inspired."

Only when Nas was reflecting on the origins of his career, getting ready to celebrate the two decades that had passed since his debut album, did he again feel the necessary spark. Particularly, he credited the recent documentary, and its creators. "I salute them dudes, man ‒ One9, Erik Parker, the whole crew over there that's put that film together ‒ because that's helped me find the inspiration," he said. "I found it.

"I jumpstarted the album again ‒ the new one," Nas revealed. ...

Rita Ora Says Ripping Off Zac Efron’s Shirt Was Totally Spontaneous

Remember that time when Rita Ora channeled the desires of everyone ever and heroically ripped Zac Efron's shirt off at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, thus liberating his flawlessly manscaped chesticles from their cottony tomb? Oh, the visual is tattooed on the inside of your eyelids because #NEVERFORGET, too? Cool.

Well, I got the chance to interview Rita recently, so this was clearly a major point of discussion. Don't worry, Bots, I obviously got your fave to spill details about her forthcoming sophomore album, O, and her role in the film adaptation of "50 Shades Of Grey", but, like... There are some things you've just gotta get off your chest, you know? Like shirts. If you're Zac Efron. ANYWAY.

While I didn't ask the "I Will Never Let You Down" singer what Zac's chest feels like — why tease yourself with something you'll never have? — I did get her to reveal whether or not the stunt was planned. Guess what: It was a "spontaneous moment"! Yes, Virginia, there was an impromptu Zac Efron striptease, though sorry about Santa Claus. Still not real.

Not only that, but the event may have been the work of divine inspiration. The moment was, in Rita's words: "Kind of like somebody in my mind spoke to me and said, 'You better go rip that shirt off!' "

I mean, I hear a voice in my head commanding me to do that exact same thing nearly every day. Who knew that I could have been destined for, like, Joan ...

Drake Takes His Lint Roller Everywhere, And These GIFs Prove It

It can't be easy to exist under the glare of the spotlight, with cameras documenting your every move and misstep. With those flashbulbs going off constantly, it's crucial to look sharp, and this week Drake showed us just how serious he is about looking extra crisp at all times — and by any means necessary.

The YMCMB rapper was posted up at a Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets game on Tuesday night, where the cameras just happened to catch him whipping out a lint roller and going to work on his pants.

For the record, I sometimes have trouble finding a lint roller in my own apartment even when I buy them in bulk, so this is just another important lesson learned from Drizzy. And apparently that NBA game isn't the only place that Drake has taken the time to get in some lint-rolling. We have the GIFs to prove it.

The Purple Wedding

The Purple Wedding in season 4 of "Game of Thrones" had one monster surprise. No one expected to see Joffrey go out like that, but Drake wasn't the least bit disturbed by it.

Coachella Reunions

Jay Z made a big cameo during Nas' set at Coachella this year. It's not often that you see the former rivals on the same stage, but Drake didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.

Award Shows

'Nuff said.

The White House

There was so much uproar about Beyonce lip synching the vocals to the National Anthem during President Obama's inauguration, that no even noticed ...

‘Game of Thrones’ Rape Scene Isn’t So Different From The Books

Over the past week there's been a lot of back and forth about the controversial Jaime/Cersei scene on the last episode of "Game of Thrones." And this discussion only got more heated when author George R.R. Martin came out to lament the treatment/changes of the scene from book to screen. With that in mind, it's probably important to remind people of one basic fact: it's not like there isn't already a lot of rape in the books.

And more importantly: that doesn't make it okay.

A step back for context on the whole situation, and some spoilers for the show and the novels "Game of Thrones" is based on: during the most recent episode, "Breaker of Chains," Jaime Lannister forced his sister to the ground in a church, next to the dead body of their son and had sex with her.

During the incident, Cersei — who had previously been in a long-standing incestual relationship with her brother before they were separated for several seasons of the show — tried to stop him, hit him and yelled "no." With this context, viewers were under the impression that the incident was a rape, compounding an incident that was already several levels of horrible.

Not so, said the director of the episode. In an interview with HitFix's Alan Sepinwall, Alex Graves said:

"Well, it becomes consensual by the end, because anything for them ultimately results in a turn-on, especially a power struggle."
That's some troubling language there in regards to sexual assault on its own, but more damning was the response from ...
