Miley Cyrus Adds The Flaming Lips To Her Growing List Of Classic Covers

Wayne Coyne has collaborated with everyone from Ke$ha to Neon Indian, and now he's adding yet another unlikely duet to his roster: Miley Cyrus. Yup, the queen of covers (and tongue-wagging) took to the stage on Saturday at the Staples Center in L.A. with the Flaming Lips frontman to perform a rousing cover of beloved Lips classic, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots."

"I hope I can inspire you guys as much as the Flaming Lips have inspired me," Cyrus cried into the crowd before Coyne trotted onstage holding a balloon spelling out "f— yeah."

"[They] encouraged me to always be myself and to make music because I love it and always invent something new for my fans!" she said.

The two — along with Steven Drozd — then performed the Lips hit not once, but twice!

Despite the seeming incongruity of the moment, Cyrus is no stranger to covering jams by what one might call "more seasoned" acts. Sure, she's lent her talents to covers of contemporaries like Lana Del Rey and the Arctic Monkeys, but her history of cribbing on other bands gets pretty canonical.

Check out her most historical of covers below, plus a few that we'd like to see made manifest:

OutKast

Everyone's celebrating the Outkast reunion — especially Miley. She busted out a cover of "Hey Ya" during her BANGERZ tour that had the whole audience whipping out their camera-phones. No polaroid pictures made an appearance, though, sadly.

Dolly Parton

"Jolene" is a frequent cover favorite of the former Disney Star — and a nod to her Southern roots.

Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V Track List Is Fake, But YMCMB’s Is Real

The YMCMB family is getting ready for a big year of releases, beginning with their new compilation, Young Money: Rise of an Empire, and Lil Wayne's anticipated album Tha Carter V. This weekend we got track lists for both projects, but it turns out that one of them was a fake.

That clarification was followed by the official cover art and track list for the label's Rise of An Empire compilation, which is currently due on March 11. As expected, Drake's "Trophies" will appear on the project, in addition to Nicki Minaj's recent release "Lookin' Ass."

‘Walking Dead’: 13 Burning Questions About ‘Claimed’

"The Walking Dead" has a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell — and by "more cowbell," we mean "classified."

Mullet-rocking scientist Eugene is the proud owner of that classified information, as revealed last night on . It turns out that Abraham Ford, Rosita and Eugene — the three characters we met at the end of last week's hour — are on their way to Washington, D.C., because Eugene has been in contact with government officials about how to end the plague. But how much does he really know?

Elsewhere in the episode, Rick engages in the most explosive bathroom encounter this side of "Who does Number Two work for," while Michonne and Carl get into some crazy-cheese shenanigans of their own. Relive "Claimed" with us while we ask our burning questions about the episode:

1. What does Eugene know? What the scientist lacks in marksmanship, he apparently makes up for in information. If we take the episode at face value, then Eugene knows the cause of the apocalypse, and might be the only man who can restore the world to its former glory. But should we take the information at face value? Or is there more to Eugene's story than meets the hairline?

2. When will we find out what Eugene knows? Probably not for a while, certainly not next week; based on previews, it appears that Glenn and his new pals will be sitting out of the upcoming episode. Even still, this is a major bombshell to drop, one that likely won't resolve entirely until the end of the season, ...

Who Made Alec Baldwin’s Hit List?

Alec Baldwin is done. He's had all he can stand and he can't stand no more. Life in the public eye has become so toxic for the former "30 Rock" star that on Sunday he penned a lengthy essay for New York magazine titled, "Good-bye, Public life," in which he officially bowed out of the celebrity hamster wheel.

But, Baldwin being Baldwin, he didn't exit stage right before taking a few people out. "I've read where a number of people have felt that 2013 was a s----y year," he wrote. "For me, it was actually a great year, because my wife and I had a baby. But, yeah, everything else was pretty awful. And I find myself bitter, defensive, and more misanthropic than I care to admit. And I'm trying to understand what happened, how an altercation on the street, in which I was accused--wrongly--of using a gay slur, could have cascaded like this. There's been a shift in my life. And it's caused me to step back and say, This is happening for a reason.

After living what he deemed a "relatively charmed life," Baldwin said everything changed last November when he said he was labeled a homophobe after allegedly using an anti-gay slur against a paparazzi photographer. (Baldwin has denied using the slur.)

Before he closed the book on a 35-year career, Baldwin took some parting shots at his rather lengthy enemies list. Who made the roster?

‘Godzilla’: The (New) King Of The Monsters Is Finally Revealed

For weeks now we've seen teasing looks at the rebooted giant monster in "cover for Empire Magazine, we've got our first good look at the titular Kaiju:

...And he looks pretty much exactly how you'd expect Godzilla to look. Which isn't surprising, necessarily, but it is something fans have been asking for since the more lizard like look Gojiru adopted in the much maligned 1998 American remake.

Though this look is more traditional, it is notable that for a monster that has mostly been portrayed by a man in a rubber suit, this CGIed Godzilla does seem slicker looking, and is certainly opening his mouth much wider than a puppeted one ever could.

We don't know a lot about the plot of the new movie, other than it involves a giant monster, is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston and more.

"Godzilla" opens May 16.

‘Heroes’ Returns: Nine Shows Worth Resurrecting

"Heroes" is coming back. Yatta?

For some fans, NBC's announcement of "Heroes Reborn" is going to be the best news of the week. Others won't even bat an eyelash. But there's no denying that for certain shows, the legacy lives on long past the series finale — and there's always a fan or two million ready to reopen a closed book.

Indeed, "Heroes Reborn" is just the latest show to make an unexpected comeback. Netflix revived "Arrested Development" for a fourth season last year, and Fox has a new round of "24" premiering later this spring. The surprise revivals of all three of those shows make you stop and wonder: Which other fan-favorite TV series are worthy of a revisit?

Here are nine shows we feel could be worth resurrecting at some point down the line, if properly executed.

"Alias"

There was buzz a few years ago that the Jennifer Garner spy series could see a return from the dead. Here's hoping that buzz heats up again thanks to the "Heroes" news, because there's always more stories where Rambaldi boxes are concerned.

An "Alias" revival doesn't necessarily need many or any of the players from the original series (the triple-agent concept would work well enough with a new cast), but there are a lot of juicy, unresolved characters and stories still in play — like the return of Julian Sark, or even the newly-immortal, buried-alive Arvin Sloane.

"Deadwood"

When HBO ended "Deadwood," there was talk of a series of TV movies that would tie up the critically-acclaimed Western's loose ends. Alas, that never ...
