Kendrick Lamar Said WHAT About Hip-Hop To Macklemore?

There are some who suggest that Macklemore & Ryan Lewis shouldn't have been included in any of the 2014 Grammy Awards' hip-hop categories, but Kendrick Lamar tells his friend and fellow rapper to forget all of that.

"It's other people's opinions. Whatever he put his heart out to do, you know he raps and people receive it as that, it's just opinions," Kendrick Lamar told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway and "Girl Code" star Nicole Byer as he walked the Grammy red carpet on Sunday night (January 26).

"He just needs to do him. I wouldn't listen to what nobody got to say," Lamar continued.

The Seattle, Washington, hip-hop duo already took home three awards tonight in the pre-televised portion of the show. They won golden gramophones in the Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and the Best Rap Album categories, beating out Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake and Lamar's critically acclaimed good kid, m.A.A.d city.

Despite the wins, an unnamed source told The Associated Press earlier this week that of the rap committee of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences looked to keep the Seattle, Washington, duo out of the award ceremony's rap categories, contesting that all of their pop success was a strike against their hip-hop cred.

Through it all, Kendrick and Macklemore have shown overwhelming support for each other. "The Grammys are important for sure," Kendrick said about his own nominations. "I think any accolades period, whether it's this, that ... anything that solidifies me working hard enough to be acknowledged by everybody is a ...

Pharrell’s ‘Smokey The Bear’ Grammy Hat…What’s He Hiding In There?

Pharrell knows fashion ... just take a look at his Billionaire Boys Club clothing line for proof. So far be it from me to criticize his choice of Grammy-night apparel: a red track suit and a 20-gallon hat.

No, I'll leave that to whoever is unlucky enough to be sitting behind him tonight. Instead, I'm going to wonder out loud: Just what — or who — does he have hiding beneath that massive hat? Here are my best guesses.

A sandwich Just in case he gets hungry during the show. Bonus points if it's from Arby's.

An even smaller hat Like a Russian nesting doll.

An elephant Just like the Little Prince.

All the unsold copies of his In My Mind solo album Hey, it's a big hat.

A cease-and-desist letter from Smokey The Bear We thought that hat looked familiar.

National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences president Neil Portnow That guy is seriously everywhere during Grammy week.

A Minion from "Despicable Me" It's called integrated marketing, man.

Chad Hugo So that's where that dude has been hiding.

Who’s More Turnt Up For Grammys? Taylor Swift Or Lorde?

The hours leading up to the 56th Grammy Awards are ticking away and all the stars are coming out — on Twitter and Instagram, that is. Yup, Taylor, Ed, Wiz and more are getting buffed, polished and trying not to freak out, and they're documenting it all via social media.

While you're laying out your snacks and cracking open an age-appropriate beverage in prep for the music fan's approximation of the Big Game, the musicians that are nominated for, attending or performing at the Grammys are currently slogging through a slightly more stressful collection of hours.

Watch your favorite stars do the following below:

...Getting Ready

Taylor Swift

Here's Taylor, just practicing her "surprised" face. Perhaps she'll get a chance to bust it out when they award

Sara Bareilles

Bareilles is getting "Brave" with a shot of caffeine, it seems.

Ed Sheeran

Looks like Ed Sheeran is making his Grammy outfit a family affair with the addition of his grandpa's tie.

Kaskade

This suit has some serious "Atmosphere."

Hunter Hayes

What time is it, Hunter? Time for you to look extremely sharp in a suit, obviously.

Mack Wilds

Well, what do you all think?

...Getting Excited

It's safe to say that most people rocking up to the Grammys tonight have a serious case of the happy shakes. Blake Shelton crowed about his performance tonight via Twitter — "Oh that sounds cool!! Me? Oh I'm just singing with @merlehaggard, @willienelson and @KrisKristofersn tonight on the Grammys.. #holysh—" — while Nile Rodgers has been burning the midnight oil to take in all the excitement and ...

14 Hot Couples We Hope To See At The Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards is one of the best places to see the hottest couples in the business strut their stuff on the red carpet, cuddle close in their seats and, in some cases, take the stage together.

From hip-hop, to pop to country, couples from all genres will be on hand Sunday night (January 26). To get you fully prepared for which pairings we hope to see, MTV News has come up with a Grammys couples checklist.

Jay Z & Beyonce

The 2014 Grammys will be graced with royalty. Musical royalty that is. The always fashionable Jay Z and Beyonce are poised to have a big night since it is rumored that they will be taking the stage together . Jay is up for seven gramophones at the show, which marks Beyonc—'s first television performance since her surprise album came out in December.

Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel

While Justin Timberlake won't be performing this year at the Grammys, he does have the potential to take home a slew of awards, and right there by his side will be wife Jessica Biel. Justin, piece of advice: don't forget to thank her when you win your Grammy!

Kimye

Kanye doesn't have the best relationship with the Grammys, so we are unsure if he and fiancé Kim Kardashian will walk the carpet. If they do, it will certainly be a red carpet moment to remember.

John Mayer & Katy Perry

At the 2013 Grammys, Katy Perry and John Mayer"Who You Love." Fingers crossed that ...
