Is Kanye West A Lock For Huge First-Week Sales Debut?

Could Kanye West land the second-biggest debut of the year after his eagerly anticipated Yeezus hits shelves next week? The album, due out Tuesday, has had one of the most unconventional roll-outs in recent memory and, according to reports from a listening party earlier this week, it's a more complicated listen than some of 'Ye's previous efforts.

The album's purported track list leaked on Friday, but little else is known about it, other than Kanye's repeated pledge to do things his way.

Like Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience, Yeezus kind of appeared out of nowhere and went from a rumor to retail in rapid succession. And, like Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, West has blazed new trails in his promotional activities hyping the album.

With all that said, it appears that when the June 26 chart is revealed, he'll fall somewhere in between JT's nearly million-selling opening frame and DP's career-best 339,000 bow last month. Either way, he's on the road to the second biggest week and second biggest debut of 2013 so far.

Kanye West's Yeezus Leaks And Frenzy Ensues.

"Kanye West is rolling out his album in a very unconventional way," said Keith Caulfield, Associate Director of Charts/Retail for Billboard magazine. "The element of surprise and mystery helps. And people just want to hear what he has to say. As we've seen with various artists this year, unconventional rollouts can work."

But given that West hasn't released an official single, or video to date and has pledged not to, is it possible ...

Taylor Swift Remembers Ed Sheeran’s ‘Medieval’ Obsession That Almost Killed Her

Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran are besties. They even manage to squeeze in some quality BFF time with one another in between stops on the Red tour. But sometimes things get a little too real between the singers.

When MTV News caught up with Swift last week, she confirmed that during a flight earlier this year to Nashville, she was nearly stabbed by Sheeran's sword. Confused? Well, let her explain.

"He got this sword... he went to New Zealand and got this sword. The actual [director] Peter Jackson gave him a sword from a 'Lord of the Rings' movie. And he was obsessed with it to the point where like he would come into by dressing room waving it and then just leave," Swift said.

"Or he'd just get it out on the plane and everybody is like, we don't know if that's OK on a plane. It's a weapon, but it's a medieval weapon [so] we don't know, I don't know," she continued. "But he's obsessed with stuff like that. He's obsessed with Legos. He's obsessed with swords, like axes, stuff like that. It was on the table [on the trip to Nashville] and it started to slide."

Of course, it never touched Swift, which Sheeran first cleared up when telling us about the incident back in March. He further noted that he knows what everyone on the tour thinks of his weapon of choice. He said, "I think [Taylor] and her crew were weirded out by it anyway. They were just like, 'Why does Ed have a ...

Khloe Kardashian Reveals The Secret To Keeping ‘Keeping Up’ Fresh

The Kardashians have always managed to keep us entertained over the course of the eight-season run of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" with babies, weddings, kooky antics, divorces and sibling rivalry. And with Kim expecting her first (and recently born) baby with Kanye West and the new season welcoming the step-brothers Brody and Brandon Jenner to the fold, they're still spicing up Sunday night. Heck, there's also a good chance that Yeezus himself might drop by. Still, Khloe can't believe that people still want to tune in.

"Honestly I feel like I'm constantly [learning stuff about us]. As we get older, we all learn new things about ourselves and we grow and we, I don't know, we just evolve as people. Every season we're like 'What else is there for us to film? Like how do people still want to watch this 'cause haven't we done everything?' And then someone gets knocked up or someone's having this or whatever," she told MTV News prior to the season premiere. "And there's always more 'cause that's life; everything changes and happens."

She added, "For, me, personally I can't pinpoint it, but trust me you don't want to miss me. I'm the best one."

‘True Blood’ Season Six Premiere Preview

"No one lives forever," warns the gauzy, crimson-colored poster promoting the season six premiere of HBO's "True Blood." And with a war brewing between fangs and the fang-nots, there will no doubt be plenty of blood shed when the vampire drama returns to the airwaves. With the premiere debuting on Sunday, June 16, here's what you need to know before tuning in:

Where We Left Off
One word: "Billith." After downing the entire vial of Lilith's blood (a potent cocktail, to be sure), the vampire dissolved into a puddle of bloody goop — slowly re-solidifying and rising into a truly terrifying new form. What he is exactly, we don't know. But it's enough to make even normally stoic Eric Northman nervous.

Meanwhile, in another corner of Vampire Authority HQ, Luna used her skinwalking powers to shift into Steve Newlin's form and sneak out with her kidnapped daughter (currently in puppy form). But things didn't go as planned (do they ever, in Bon Temps?), and she was ushered in front of television cameras to give an address as the reverend. But she couldn't keep his form through the live broadcast and shifted back. Will she make it out alive?

But the finale wasn't all death and destruction. Alcide experienced a rebirth of sorts as Packmaster of the Shreveport wolves (albeit after killing the current one), while Andy Bellefleur welcomed a litter of fairy-babies. (Check out a full recap of the season five finale at Hollywood Crush.)

Where We're Headed
The season premiere picks up right where we left off: inside the ruling bloodsuckers' lair with Bill ...

Happy Father’s Day, Kanye West: Gift Guide For The New Dad

Kanye West probably wasn't expecting to be celebrate Father's Day on the daddy end this year. After all, his daughter with Kim Kardashian wasn't due until July, and the Chicago-born rapper has been in full-on promo mode for his sixth studio album, Yeezus, which despite leaking online Friday, will get its official release on Tuesday.

But, alas, at the dawn of "Yeezus Season" and five weeks early, the pop culture's most anticipated baby was born on Saturday. Kanye reportedly canceled his appearance at Friday night's Yeezus release party as well as a rumored appearance at Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash to be by Kim's side for the entire birth.

So whether he's ready for it or not, Yeezy has some celebrating to do. And while the he's usually pretty tight-lipped about his family life — "This is my baby; this isn't America's baby," he told The New York Times — we have some ideas for what he may want this Father's Day.

A Throne Armchair
If Kanye has made anything clear on his sixth studio album, it's that he considers himself a god -- he even recruited the big man himself for a feature. Would you get God a $40 necktie for Father's Day? We didn't think so. Luckily, the guys over at Design Toscano have crafted this "attention-demanding" full-size replica of King Tut's throne. And in addition to its ""exquisite" ornamentation, it's just $1,200, — pocket change compared to West's $750,000 birthday Lamborghini. We could definitely see ye burping his little one on this thing.

‘Man Of Steel’: Superman And Lois Lane Ditch Old-Timey Romance

As with many other aspects of the Superman mythology, "Man of Steel" reinvents the relationship between the superhero and his longtime love interest, Lois Lane. In the past, Lane has served as a nosy proxy for the audience who falls for Superman but often gives him reasons to have to do some saving — whenever she gets herself into a pickle. But Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, explained that their relationship is much more sophisticated in the new film than in prior ones.

"He's spent his whole life with only two people knowing what he can do," Cavill told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "Of course, they can only sympathize with him, they can't empathize." Describing the strained introduction the two have — after she uncovers his actual identity — Cavill indicates that their shared secret forges a bond unlike those audiences have ever seen. "It's one of those situations where he's forced into it, but it's actually a great relationship because he realizes he can trust her — and he thought that never possible."

As Lois Lane, Amy Adams had a remarkable opportunity to create a character who, for the first time, was smart and sophisticated and wasn't defined purely by her relationship to Superman. Adams said that wasn't a responsibility she took lightly.

"You treat it with a lot of reverence and respect," she said. "It felt very real. You're acting and stuff, but we were there, and you just transport yourself to the reality of it. I liked that Zack created a Lois who isn't swooning over him, but ...

R. Kelly Bares His Soul In Triumphant Bonnaroo Dance Party

MANCHESTER, Tennessee — R. Kelly brought a soulful sexy vibe to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival farm as only he can, infusing his Saturday night set with enough tongue-in-cheek innuendo and off-the-cuff humor to keep everyone bouncing along with him and his crew.

Kelly let it all hang out, serving up his "Ignition (Remix)" right off the bat before presenting a perfect blend of feel-good party jams and gut-wrenching ballads.

The crooner invited the crowd to join his "Fiesta" and "Move Your Body Like a Snake," convincing them there's nothing wrong with a lil "Bump 'n Grind."

R. Kelly's medley also hit Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" alongside "Sex in the Kitchen," "Step In the Name of Love" and "I'm a Flirt."

"If music has inspired you to do better, make some noise," Kelly encouraged before capping off his set with "I Believe I Can Fly," backed by a robed choir as dozens of white dove balloons floated dreamily into the night sky.

Bonnaroo Conflict Resolution: Should You Choose the National or David Byrne and St. Vincent? MTV Hive Helps You Decide!

Also Saturday at Bonnaroo, Jack Johnson filled in for Mumford & Sons, who canceled their appearance after bassist Ted Dwane had surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

Earlier in the day, Nas and Bjork held it down on the main stage.

The festival wraps up Sunday (June 16) with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky.
