Drake season is still in full swing, but the entire Young Money family is reuniting on wax this year to bring the heat.
On the 2009 compilation album We Are Young Money, budding stars like Nicki Minaj got major shine on the hit “Bedrock,” and YMCMB’s 2014 follow up LP will more than likely deliver some new chart toppers.
Vibe reports that the all-star roster of artists, which includes Drake, Tyga and Lil Wayne, will appear together on the new compilation LP Young Money: Rise of an Empire, set for release on March 11.
“This release will showcase the Platinum-selling artists you know and love, such as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake and Tyga, as well as celebrate our up and coming artists who will surely become your new favorites,” Birdman revealed to Vibe. “This album is an excellent family effort and will be alighting radio airwaves across the globe!”
The album will be led be the new single “We Alright,” featuring Birdman and Lil Wayne, with production from new Young Money signee Euro. Drake’s recent release, “Trophies,” which didn’t make the cut for his third album Nothing Was the Same, will also end up on the compilation. Nicki Minaj is currently at work on her third album, so we’re expecting plenty of music from the YMCMB queen later this year.
