Even Golfers Are Doing The Shmoney Dance Now

I wonder if Bobby Shmurda and co. ever imagined that the Shmoney Dance they created in the streets of Brooklyn would one day make its way onto a golf course. For some reason, I doubt it. But it has.

The U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team is competing against Europe this week, and after their 16-to-8 victory on Tuesday (September 23), it was Shmoney Dance time for the youngsters (to the sounds of Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora’s “Black Widow,” of course).

Another video, featuring team members Brad Dalke, Davis Riley and Sam Burns, calls it their “birdie dance” in the YouTube description and title.

The team must have been sinking a lot of birdies, because an announcer from the Golf Channel asked one of the players: “What did you invent in the past few days that has taken off with this team?”

A few players also changed the spelling on Twitter to #schmoney, but maybe that’s because the tournament was held in Scotland?

A number of athletes have already Shmoney Danced over the last few weeks, from Team U.S.A. after their FIBA victory to NFL players celebrating touchdowns.

We can probably expect more to come.
