Season 4 of Teen Wolf is a wrap, y’all! Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday I was telling you where to buy Malia’s American flag print shorts and now, all of a sudden, our faves from Beacon Hills won’t be in our lives every Monday for a while. Last night’s finale was full of Beserkers chaos, but, TBH, I couldn’t stop thinking about how quickly Malia’s style developed over the season.
When we spoke with costume designer Barbara Vasquez at the beginning of the season, she told us that Malia’s style was going to eventually start looking “a little more put together” than “thrown together,” and that evolution was obvious when you look back at the season.

When this season kicked off in Mexico, Malia was in a maroon shirt and printed shorts. Sure, she was raised in a coyote den, but she’s still patriotic–that counts for something, right?

By episode six, she had learned of H&M and the beauty of $7 sweaters. It’s simple and surprisingly feminine–while I’m sure she just picked it up off of the top of her laundry pile, it looks, like, comfy and school-appropriate.

Not soon after, Malia was picking up style tips from Stiles (heh), and layering flannels over other shirts. I am, by the way, so into #Stalia. Sorry, haters.

By episode 10, Malia had really hit her fashion stride and was effortlessly pulling off double denim. Um, hi, lady who lived in the woods until, like, three months ago–please teach me how to pair denim.

And, finally, we arrive at the finale, where Malia is doing #WERK with a stripes, sequins, embroidery, and denim. The secret to her aesthetic may be that she doesn’t care about what she looks like, but as Barbara told us at the beginning of the season, “somehow it works on her.” You can say that again.

The final touch to any Malia outfit–since day one–has been, of course, knee-high boots. Shorts-and-boots is kinda Malia’s ~thang~, right? Last night was no different–she wore black combat boots with her jorts.
