New ‘Godzilla’ Trailer Unleashes All The Monsters

Forget the meek; it’s the monsters who will inherit the Earth.

At least, that’s what we’re gathering from the new trailer for “Godzilla,” the upcoming reboot from Warner Bros. and director Gareth Edwards. Previous trailers have been dominated by “Breaking Bad” veteran Bryan Cranston’s Heisenbergian monologues, but the new trailer is all kaiju, all the time — and that extends beyond the king.

The new trailer reveals our best look yet at “the Muto,” genetically-modified monsters of the same size and scope as Godzilla. That’s right: Godzilla has more problems to worry about than Walter White, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, already a murderer’s row as far as human resistance fighters go.

Of course, this is a “Godzilla” trailer, which means there has to be some great Cranston voice-over action as well.

“Whatever it is that’s in there — whatever it is that they’re guarding so carefully — it’s real,” Cranston says with his signature (re: awesome) whisper-growl. “God help us all.”

We see flashes of Godzilla battling a winged creature, with hundreds of onlookers caught up in the conflict. The trailer ends with some words of wisdom from Ken Watanabe:

“The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in its control,” he says, “and not the other way around. Let them fight.”

The “Godzilla” fight begins on May 16.

What do you think of the new “Godzilla” trailer?
