Nick Jonas Returns To Acting With Kickass Role On TV Drama

A little over four months after the Jonas Brothers abruptly called it quits, Nick has a kickass acting gig to keep him busy.

Nick has just landed a role on DirecTV’s upcoming martial arts drama “Navy St,” MTV News has confirmed.

The hourlong drama is described as “raw, emotional family drama set in Los Angeles” that revolves around Alvey Henderson (played by “Captain America” star Frank Grillo), a former fighter battling addiction. Jonas will play Nate Henderson, Alvey’s youngest son and the prized fighter at the gym.

“The Glades” star Kiele Sanchez is set to play his character’s girlfriend, Lisa Prince, and “Parenthood” actor Jonathan Tucker will play his older brother Jay.

This is hardly Nick’s first time acting. Long after the Nick series that launched him and his brothers to stardom, Nick also played smug teenager Lyle West on “Smash” and made appearances on “Hawaii Five-O” and “Last Man Standing.” As a child, he appeared in Broadway productions “Les Miserables,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Annie Get Your Gun,” and returned to the Great White Way in 2012 for

So really, this latest gig shouldn’t be any surprise. After all, when we caught up with the JoBros shortly after their split, Nick hinted at plans to return to the stage.

“I think that for me, personally, my next move will be recording music, writing for myself and other people and maybe a return to theater at some point,” he said.

Production on “Navy St.” begins on May 5 in Los Angeles.
