Schoolboy Q Commands Kendrick To ‘Move From The Throne’ On ‘Break The Bank’

Schoolboy Q has rap’s first big release of 2014 on deck and the Black Hippy MC is making sure that his lane is clear before his February 25 release date. He even issues a playful warning to his pal Kendrick Lamar.

“Tell Kendrick move from the throne, I came for it,” Q raps on “Break the Bank,” a new track that was made available on Monday night after Schoolboy’s Oxymoron went up for pre-order on iTunes.

Though the album is up for pre-order, the track list still hasn’t been revealed, aside from previously released songs “Collard Greens,” and now the newly released “Break the Bank.”

Q’s latest is a dark and dastardly sing along where the California spitter counts the spoils from his latest rap heist. “Goodbye to Nissan, ’cause one day this rapping gonna pay,” he spits before delivering a melodic chorus.

“So now we ’bout to break the bank,” Q croons while laying a couple of raspy melodies to flesh out the Alchemist-produced track.

Q also revealed the album’s regular retail and deluxe covers. The first cover features a black-and-white picture of the rapper’s daughter Joy, who wears her daddy’s gold chain, rap scowl and signature bucket hat. The deluxe album cover has Schoolboy wearing a white ski mask and matching white bucket hat.

On Wednesday, the TDE lyricist will sit with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway on “RapFix Live” to talk about his upcoming release on an episode that will also feature Pro Era.
