YG’s Debut Gets A Name Change, Release Date And A Drake Feature

YG is as Cali as they come, but the West Coast spitter is ready to widen his scope just a little bit. Originally the Young Gangsta planned to dub his debut album I’m From Bompton, a title that represents his native Compton, California, and Blood affiliation.

“The album was I’m from BomptonJeezy hollered at me and told me, ‘I can come with something that the world will accept,’ ” YG said on Wednesday’s (September 4) “RapFix Live” when he and Jeezy came on to discuss the youngster’s new album and signing to CTE.

“The album is called My Krazy Life,” YG announced, also revealing that the LP will be dropping on November 19.

That’s not the only surprise YG had. “I’m just gonna give you one feature, I’m not finna give you the whole whoop wop,” he said before telling us his major collaboration. “I got my boy Drizzy on it.”

YG and Drake hooked up on a DJ Mustard-produced track called “Who You Love” and though they didn’t link up in the studio, the “#Grindmode” spitter ensured that he and the OVO boss talked plenty about the song. “We just hollered up over the phone, because he do his thing, we all over the place, I was in the A with Jeezy,” he said.

To end the show YG premiered the music video for “My Hittas,” his first official single from his album which features Rich Homie Quan and Jeezy.

Jeezy, who is executive producing My Krazy Life, is very excited for YG’s upcoming LP. “The album title actually goes better with his album because his album is like a day in the life of a YG, a young gangsta,” he said.
