Ferguson October Protestors Demand Justice For Michael Brown

by 27 mins ago

Protesters have returned to St. Louis, Missouri, for a second wave of demonstrations seeking justice for Michael Brown, an unarmed teenager shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson on August 9.

The movement, which has been named Ferguson October by activists, comes after an eerily similar shooting shook the Shaw neighborhood of St. Louis on October 8. An off-duty police officer shot and killed Vonderrit Myers, Jr., who was just 18 years old — the same age Brown was when he died.

Ferguson October activists are marching to protest a trend of deadly police brutality, which disproportionately victimizes young men of color. Both Myers and Brown were black, while the police officers who killed them are white. Neither officer has been arrested; Darren Wilson, who shot Brown, left Missouri before his name was released to the public and remains on paid administrative leave.

The Ferguson October website states: “Our country can no longer deny the epidemic of police violence facing Black and Brown communities. Mike Brown is now part of a long list of people like John Crawford, Ezell Ford, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant and countless others who have been unjustly killed by police. Their lives mattered.”

Hundreds of protestors have gathered to march through downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

90-year-old Holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein, who was arrested during the last round of Ferguson protests, returned to show solidarity.

Ryan Phillippe Is Going Nude, And Prepping For ‘MacGruber 2′

by 19 mins ago

You can catch Ryan Phillippe in thriller mode for “Catch Hell,” which he also wrote and directed. But after being captured and tortured for the film, which is currently in theaters and on iTunes, what Phillippe wants to do now is laugh. And get naked.

“I got nude for [Judd Apatow] and Amy Schumer,” Phillippe told MTV News about his role in his upcoming movie, “Trainwreck.”

This isn’t Phillippe’s first experience with comedy, either. He starred in 2010′s “MacGruber,” which is inching closer than ever to getting a sequel.

“We are going to do ‘MacGruber 2,’ we are very close to making [it],” Phillippe said. “And wait until you find out who’s going to be in it. The villain is going to blow your mind.”

How do you improve on Val Kilmer from the first movie? “You can,” Phillipe said, laughing.

So how does “MacGruber” go from, shall we say, not the biggest hit of all time to getting a sequel?

“They’re nearly done with the script, yeah. Will [Forte] and Jorma [Taccone] have been working on the script for a while, and there’s an audience for it now!” Phillippe continued. “So it bombs at the theaters, gets the worst reviews of all time, but every comedian that you know loves this movie.

“Now there’s college drinking games, there’s kids going out as our characters for Halloween. It’s going to be fun to see what happens when there is a second one. Even if it’s just Twitter mentions and people telling you how much ...

by 11 mins ago

Hey, “Star Wars” fans, got any plans this weekend? If they don’t involve watching this two-hour, shot-for-shot fan remake of “The Empire Strikes Back,” then you might want to reevaluate your priorities.

The masterminds over at Lucasfilm had the brilliant-beyond-brilliant idea to recruit their legions of creative, dedicated fans to reshoot the 1980 sci-fi classic in 15-second chunks. More than 480 fans sent in 1,500 submissions, which were stitched together piece-by-piece to form one big, beautiful crowdsourced rendition of “Episode V.”

The result is a wickedly out-there, entertaining remake starring cats, dogs, babies, potatoes, Legos, cookies and everything between. There’s claymation, puppetry, some hilariously awful live acting, a galaxy made out of needlepoint, stunning animations and so many googly eyes.

Check out a few of our favorite highlights:

Here’s the Battle of Hoth, recreated with party balloons.

Actress Misty Upham Confirmed Missing By Police

by 4 mins ago

Misty Upham, a Blackfeet actress best known for her roles in “August: Osage County” and “Frozen River,” has been confirmed missing by Washington state police.

Indian Country Today Media Network, who confirmed the 32 year old’s missing status, report that she was last seen leaving her sister’s apartment in Muckleshoot, Washington, on October 5.

Misty’s father, Charles Upham, first reported her missing. “She had recently changed her medication, so she was sort of having erratic behavior,” Charles said to The Hollywood Reporter. “She told me and her mom that we didn’t have to worry about her any more. … I thought it sounded suicidal myself, so I called the police. She’s always been a suicidal person.”

If you have any information regarding Misty Upham’s whereabouts, her father has asked in a statement to the media via ICTMN that you contact Washington’s Auburn Police Department at 253-288-2121.

‘The Walking Dead’: Norman Reedus Reveals Daryl Is ‘Dirtier’ In Season 5

by 28 mins ago

Earlier this year MTV News was lucky enough to visit the set of AMC’s hit show “The Walking Dead,” which returns this Sunday (October 12). And no visit to the set is complete without checking in with the show’s resident ass-kicker, Norman Reedus – a.k.a. the crossbow wielding Daryl Dixon.

So what will happen with Daryl in season five? Because as fans know, if Daryl dies… We riot.

“He’s dirtier! His hair is longer!” Reedus said. “I can’t really tell you anything. It’s tough. If you look at these characters from the beginning, they’re all completely different from when we started the show. Everyone’s in constant movement. Everyone is evolving. Everyone is fighting for what they believe in, or not.”

And then Reedus went ahead and described how this season is different from previous seasons, using the phrase, “Boing, boing, boing, boing.”

Maybe you just need to watch the interview for yourself?

Beyonce Slays The Louvre With Her ‘Mona Lisa’ Smize

by 32 mins ago

For millennia, humankind has asked itself: What is art? The answer to that question, like nearly every other question in life, is, of course, Beyoncé.

Case in point, check out these photos that the “Flawless” singer took at one of Paris’ world-renowned art museums, the Louvre, which she posted to Instagram on Saturday (October 11). The first is a selfie and the second is of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa.” A comparison between the two is inevitable, right?

I mean, OK — they’re both stunning ladies who know how to hold your gaze, and they’re both constantly crowded by photogs obsessively snapping their pics. Plus, rumors have swirled that both Bey and Ms. Lisa are somehow tied to an underground network of secret societies hell-bent on world domination (the Illuminati and the Knights Templar, respectively).

Still, I think we know who’s got this.

Oh hey, Mona. You’re cute and all…

Pharrell Poses In A Rainbow of Stan Smiths, But What Does It Mean?

by 39 mins ago

Pharrell has done just about everything one can do to the Stan Smith. He’s doodled and painted on them, used them as a platform for his political beliefs, and blinged them out. But he’s not done yet. Pharrell has now dyed them in them in every color imaginable. It’s almost as if he looked at every shade Lupita Nyong’o’s worn, took that rainbow to Adidas and said “Go.”

Skater P posted a pic of his crayon box of a sneaker collection on Instagram with the hashtag #Supercolor which sounds more like a code name for his next collaboration with Adidas. Maybe Pharrell will release matching leather track jackets to go with them, like he did with his recent Stan Smith collab? Or that could just be wishful thinking on our part and in reality Adidas produced all of the shoes just so P could visualize and pick out his next batch of shoes. Either way, Pharrell has something new coming up because Adidas reposted his picture with a March 2015 release date promised. Our calendars are officially marked.

If he needs a model, we know a woman who pulls off every color well.

Childish Gambino And Jhené Aiko Face A Cliffhanger Ending In The ‘Telegraph Ave’ Video

by 27 mins ago

Though lately he’s been beefing up his acting resume as Donald GLover, Childish Gambino returned to his musical side by releasing a new video for “Telegraph Ave.” In the clip, he absconds to the Hawaiian island of Kauai with Jhené Aiko.

The Hiro Murai and Larkin Seiple-directed clip finds the STN MTN MC driving in his Jeep while listening to “Oakland” by Lloyd.

The scenery is serenely beautiful, with lush greens and panoramic views. And, as we’ve seen before, Gambino and Aiko couple with such comfortability. This time, they’re eating ice cream and taking a ride to the beach.

The video takes a turn for the dramatic, though, at the end with a surprise twist that reveals that the rapper’s character in the visual isn’t exactly who he seems to be.
