Tim McGraw Seen Slapping Female Fan In Concert Video

by 32 mins ago

Tim McGraw has come under fire after a video was posted to TMZ in which he slaps a female fan on the head in the middle of a concert in Atlanta.

In the video, which was posted to the site on Thursday (July 17), the country singer is seen walking down the runway during a performance of “Truck Yeah,” high-fiving fans along the way. A blonde female fan appears to slap his leg, then a bit higher up, before he hits her across the head. She’s then escorted out of the crowd by a security guard.

“Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn’t let go as he was moving through the crowd,” a rep for the singer told TMZ. “He instinctively swatted to try to keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing!), and so he could get to more fans who could slap hands with him before the end of the show.”

7 Times Drake Killed It Hosting The ESPYs

by 28 mins ago

Despite the fact that early reviews deemed him a “chicken head,” Drake undeniably killed it hosting the ESPYs on Wednesday night. Even I — as a foreigner to the world of “sports” — managed to be entertained throughout the two-and-a-half-hour show, and Drizzy and his all-linen everything are the only ones to thank for that.

It’s hard to pick just one best moment from last night’s show. So instead, we picked seven.

1. When He Let Chris Brown Cut Him Open
Guess those bottle-throwing days are behind them?

2. When He Dressed Up Like Manny Pacquiao And Sang ‘Let It Go’

3. When He Tore Apart Donald Sterling… In Song
“Sterling never loved us.” Get it?

4. When He Seductively Blew In Lance Stephenson’s Ear
Because he’s the romantic rapper, after all.

5. When He Read A Super Raunchy Poem For Skylar Diggins… And It Somehow Worked

She didn’t let him dig in but she did give him a kiss on the forehead.

6. When He Brought Out Brian McKnight And Had Us Starting Back At One
Like a dream come true.

7. When He Introduced Floyd Mayweather In A British Accent
And with medieval-era trumpeteers by his side. Because, it’s Floyd Mayweather.

Rihanna Clarifies She Just Wants ‘Peace’ After ‘#FreePalestine’ Tweet

by 49 mins ago

Despite a tweet that she was choosing sides, Rihanna clarified on Tuesday (July 15) that all she wants is “peace and a swift end” to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The “Diamonds” singer made the statement hours after she tweeted “#FreePalestine” — reportedly by mistake — garnering many angry responses from fans. The message was retweeted and favorited thousands of times before she deleted it just 8 minutes later.

She offered no explanation for the #FreePalestine message in her tweet Tuesday evening, but a source close to the singer told TMZ that she was reading about the conflict when she inadvertently tweeted it.

“She deleted it because it was never meant to be tweeted,” the source explained. “She didn’t even realize it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans.”

Rihanna has rarely been one to comment on foreign affairs. Just three days ago, NBA star Dwight Howard sent out the exact same tweet and quickly deleted it, explaining, “previous tweet was a mistake. I have never commented on international politics and never will.”

Steve Angello’s ‘Wasted Love’ Is Temper Trap Meets EDM

by 24 mins ago

Ever since Swedish House Mafia unexpectedly and cermoniously called it quits back in 2012, fans of the beloved EDM trio have been waiting patiently for what Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso come up with on their own.

And on Monday (July 14), after nearly two years after the split, Angello has shared “Wasted Love,” the first track off his upcoming album Wild Youth, a project the DJ has teased a lot, but never gave us a listen until now.

The track, which premiered on Rolling Stone, finds Angello linking up once again with the Temper Trap frontman Dougy Mandagi. The track of mixing Angello’s signature EDM with Dougy’s hypnotic vocals — a love ballad with a kick of anger.

“We just wanted to have a song where our worlds collided a little bit, something that speaks to all of us, so I wanted to create something that was different but also honored the Temper Trap style,” he told RS. “I also wanted to find a great balance between dance and indie, and I kind of held back a lot just to create that moment where it’s about the melodies and the songs.

It’s that innovation that Angello says he’s bringing to the entirety of Wild Youth, which is set for release on July 22.

“I think it’s really important for dance music today to become creative again, rethink and not just repeat yourself over and over again, like a lot of producers do,” he told MTV News earlier this ...

Ariana Grande, 5SOS And Usher Are Bringing ‘A Whole Lotta Love’ To The VMAs

by 37 mins ago

Sure, the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will feature performances from the biggest names in today’s music — Usher, Ariana Grande and Five Seconds of Summer are just the first to be announced — but that doesn’t mean it won’t be a classic.

A new promo video for the August 24 show features Led Zeppelin’s 1969 “Whole Lotta Love,” a legendary and rambunctious track that’s perfect for a show as esteemed and unpredictable as the VMAs.

Considered by many to be one of the greatest rock songs of all time — and among the best guitar tracks in history — “Whole Lotta Love” was the opening track off Led Zeppelin II, which will be on of three Zeppelin albums that will get a deluxe re-release on June 3.

Starting with the releases of Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III, the band will reissue all nine of its studio albums in chronological order, each remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page. The albums will also feature dozens of unheard studio and live recordings.

“The material on the companion discs presents a portal to the time of the recording of Led Zeppelin,” Page said in a statement to MTV News. “It is a selection of work in progress with rough mixes, backing tracks, alternate versions, and new material recorded at the time.”

Don’t miss the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards when they air live from the Forum in Inglewood, California, on August 24 at 9 p.m. ET.

Kesha Reveals A ‘Dirty Little Secret’ About Her Bad-Girl Image In Elle U.K.

by 3 mins ago

In the months since she entered rehab to treat bulimia, Kesha‘s gone through a decidedly drastic transformation. She dropped the dollar sign, she changed her Twitter handle from to the self-deprecating @keshasuxx to @kesharose, and her recent Teen Vogue cover was shocking for how unshocking it was.

And in what seems to be an effort to fully scrap that Jack Daniels-swigging image, she’s opening up about who she really is in a sober essay in Elle U.K..

“Sure, I’ve written songs about partying, but my dirty little secret is that I’m actually incredibly responsible. I take my music and career very seriously, and certainly didn’t land in this situation from partying,” she wrote. “But I was cut off from the outside world and I imagined people making up stories at a time when what I really needed was support.”

In the essay, a copy of which can be found on ATRL, Kesha Sebert remembers the cold day in January that her mom drove her to Timberline Knolls, the tribulations that brought her there, and how her two-month “alone time” made her more comfortable with who she really is.

“I’ve always tried to be a crusader for loving yourself, but I’d been finding it harder and harder to do personally,” she wrote of her eating disorder, which escalated after a particularly busy 2013. “I felt like part of my job was to be as skinny as possible, and to make that happen, I had been ...

Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande And Jessie J On One Track? Hear It Now

by 19 mins ago

Jessie J has managed to get two of the biggest ladies in music — reigning pop diva and Mariah Carey mini me Ariana Grande and hip-hop queen Nicki Minaj — on one track, a musical ménage à trois that is bound to be bleeding girl power.

And when the “Domino” singer shared a snippet on Wednesday (July 9), it became clear that at the very least, it will inherit the ferocity of the Grammy-winning “Marmalade.”

Only Jessie is heard in the short snippet, clip, singing, “She got a body like an hourglass/ I can give it to you all the time/ She got a booty like a Cadillac/ But I can send you into overdrive.”

We’ll have to wait until July 29, when the official audio drops, to hear this one in full.

Chris Colfer Has Some Words For Whoever Hacked His Twitter

by 13 mins ago

With reporting by Cory Midgarden

To the man/woman/robot who hacked Chris Colfer’s Twitter account last week and had the Internet hyperventilating: You’re officially in the doghouse.

Sure, he held back in addressing the incident on social media — seemingly laughing it off in an exchange with co-star and fellow hackee Lea Michele — but he’s got quite a few words for whoever it was that falsely announced that he’d been fired from “Glee.” He’s just too classy to say them out loud.

In an interview with MTV News while promoting his upcoming book, The Land of Stories, the “Glee” actor addressed the incident head-on.

“I couldn’t say that out loud,” he said of the message he has for the hacker. “I couldn’t say that unless there was a bleep.”

The worst part of it all, he said, was that he was thrown into headlines when he usually does everything he can to stay out of them.

“It really upset me just because I — probably more so than it should have — because I try to stay out of headlines as much as possible, unless I’m promoting a project that I’ve worked really hard on, so the fact that something like that is probably what I’ll be known for the most, that kid from ‘Glee’ who got hacked. You know, that’s really upsetting,” he said. “It’s upsetting when you’re forced into headlines like that. You know, you have nothing to do with it.”

So, the question remains: Who was said man/woman/robot?

“A million ...

Here’s Music For Your Dog, Courtesy Of Fun.’s Andrew Dost

by 28 mins ago

Fun.‘s Andrew Dost has proved he knows how to make music for starting a bar fight and pulling an liquor-fueled all-nighter, but that’s not at all his intention this time.

Mainly because it’s not for you, but for your dog. Yep, the multi-instrumentalist wrote a four-minute song for DOGTV, a two-year-old network that describes itself as “the perfect babysitter for dogs who have to stay home alone.”

And since he knows you don’t want your dog breaking beer bottles and causing a “We Are Young”-like ruckus when you’re not around, this one’s a bit more subdued than what you’re used to from the rock trio, using primarily harp and piano — with an occasional dog pant thrown in — and rarely louder than a murmur.

“I approached this composition project differently than I would for human ears. I made sure the range of frequencies and instrumentation were tailored to a dog’s unique sense of hearing and kept things musically more level and linear,” Dost said in a statement to the Associated Press on Tuesday (July 8).

The song premiered on Monday during a relaxation segment, according to the AP. The segments include “relaxing and stimulate content” that is meant to keep dogs calm and peaceful while their owners are away, according to the network’s website. The song is accompanied by equally tranquil images of the oceanside, a park, and a forest.
