Pamela Anderson Files For Divorce From Rick Salomon

by 24 mins ago

Pamela Anderson has filed for divorce from husband Rick Salomon after the two were remarried in January.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, Anderson cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed paperwork on July 3, not even six months after the two tied the knot again. They were previously married in 2007 before Anderson had the marriage annulled in February of 2008.

Before that, Anderson was married to Kid Rock for four months before she filed for divorce. Her marriage to Tommy Lee, however, was less short-lived. The couple was together for three years and have two sons together, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee.

Taylor Swift Outlines ‘The Only Real Risk’ To Pop Music

by 1 min ago

As online streaming and piracy drive traditional album sales to near-record lows, it may be hard to look into the future of the music industry and not grimace. But leave it to Taylor Swift to always keep things positive.

In an op-ed published in the online edition of The Wall Street Journal, Swift talks about why, despite all the numbers and statistics, she’ll always be an “enthusiastic optimist.” Not only does she refuse to think this ship will sink, she seems to see where it’s heading, and likes the look of it, boldly proclaiming, “the music industry is not dying… it’s just coming alive.”

You see, in her mind, she views slumping sales as a challenge to artists put their “heart and soul” to create albums that hit fans “like an arrow through the heart” and “allowed them to feel like they aren’t alone in feeling so alone.” In other words, music so damn good they can’t not buy their album.

“The way I see it, fans view music the way they view their relationships. Some music is just for fun, a passing fling (the ones they dance to at clubs and parties for a month while the song is a huge radio hit, that they will soon forget they ever danced to). Some songs and albums represent seasons of our lives, like relationships that we hold dear in our memories but had their time and place in the past,” she wrote. “However, some artists will be like ...

Disclosure Take Usher’s ‘Good Kisser’ To Third Base

by 31 mins ago

Disclosure may have just done the impossible — they may have just out-sexed Usher, the king of sexy slow jams, the man behind “Climax,” for Christ’s sake, even sexier.

Guy and Howard just put their own dance-driven electronic spin on “Good Kisser,” which Usher dropped earlier this year, introducing a steady beat that takes it from the bedroom to the club.

Earlier this year, the U.K.-based DJ duo put an equally fresh spin on Pharrell and Jay Z’s “Frontin.”

‘Fast & Furious 7′ Is Coming Sooner Than We Thought

by 11 mins ago

“Fast and Furious 7″ is coming at us even, well, faster than we thought.

Universal announced Wednesday (July 2) that the latest installment in the racing franchise will hit theaters on April 3, 2015, a week earlier than it was originally slated to premiere.

The film, directed by James Wan, was slated for a summer 2014 release until the tragic death of star Paul Walker last November. In April, the studio announced that Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, would be filling his shoes.

ff

“Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film. We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too,” Universal announced in April. “Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.”

The film also stars returning cast members Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black, along with first-timers Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell.

Death Grips Announce Breakup… On A Napkin

by 26 mins ago

Experimental hip-hop group Death Grips have broken up, abruptly canceling several planned tour dates and urging their fans to “stay legend” in a note posted to their Facebook page.

“We are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. We have officially stopped. All currently scheduled live dates are canceled,” they wrote on a napkin on Wednesday (July 2). “Our upcoming double album The Powers That B will still be delivered worldwide later this year via Harvest/Third Worlds Records. Death Grips was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision. Above and beyond a ‘band.’ To our truest fans, please stay legend.”

death grips break up

The news comes not even a month after the trio — composed of drummer Zach Hill, producer Andy Morin (aka Flatlander) and Stefan Burnett (aka MC Ride) — dropped a N—as On The Moon the first half of a surprise album featuring Bjork.

While they were innovative in blending the genres of hip-hop and punk, the group were not without drama. They split from Epic Records back in 2012 after they released their second album, No Love Deep Web, for free months early.

The group was slated to perform at the Pitchfork Music Festival before opening up for Soundgarden and Nine Inch Nails later this year.

Oh, Sheezus: Miley Cyrus Adds Lily Allen To Bangerz Tour

by 5 mins ago

As if her Bangerz Tour wasn’t fierce enough, Miley Cyrus has added Sheezus herself, Lily Allen, to the bill for seven dates this summer.

Miley’s made her Bangerz trek a pretty raucous one — riding on inflatable penises and on an equally suggestive hotdog — but considering Lily Allen brought this video into the word, we’re thinking she’s up to the challenge.

To support Sheezus, which she dropped back in May, the “Hard Out Here” singer will hit the road on her first North American tour in five years this September.

Also on Wednesday (July 2), Lily shared the new video for “URL Badman,” a colorful, snark-soaked shot at Internet bloggers and trolls.

Allen will join Miley on the following Bangerz Tour dates:

»8/1 – Uniondale, NY – Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum
»8/2 – Philadelphia, PA – Wells Fargo Center
»8/4 – Pittsburgh, PA – CONSOL Energy Center
»8/6 – Charlotte, NC – Time Warner Cable Arena
»8/7 – Nashville, TN – Bridgestone Arena
»8/9 – Louisville, KY – KFC Yum! Center
»8/10 – St Louis, MO – Scottrade Center

Shia LeBeouf Being Treated For Alcoholism

by 9 mins ago

Shia LaBeouf is reportedly beginning treatment for alcohol addiction, days after the troubled actor was arrested on charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct and harassment after being “disruptive” at a Broadway showing of “Cabaret.”

Contrary to reports, LaBeouf has not entered a rehab facility, but has started a 12-step program to treat alcoholism, according to TMZ.

Shia’s Legal Trouble: A Timeline

A rep for the actor told the site that “he has taken the first of many necessary steps toward recovery.”

The news comes after a troubled — and at times, rather bizarre — few years for the “Nymphomaniac” star, with his “Cabaret” arrest being only his most recent run-in with the law. In 2008, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor drunk driving after refusing a Breathalyzer test. Three years later, he was taken into custody after a bar fight in Los Angeles.

LaBeouf’s rep had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment by press time.

CHVRCHES Call ‘Bullsh–’ On Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda

by 28 mins ago

Most musicians wouldn’t exactly like it if a fellow artist compared your stuff to “Disney commercial music,” but apparently, if it’s coming from Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, no one really cares.

Back in April, Shinoda told Noisey, “There’s so much music out there; there’s so much stuff that sounds like Haim or CHVRCHES or Vampire Weekend that I’m full. The thing I’m hungry for is not that. I turn on the rock station in L.A. and it sounds like Disney commercial music.”

And in a new interview with joiz, Scotland-born CHVRCHES brushed Shinoda off as irrelevant, with guitarist Iain Cook even going so far to call him “a pointless dick.”

While she took the time to say his comments were complete “bullsh–” lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry said at the end of the day, she doesn’t care what Shinoda thinks.

“It’s not an opinion I would worry about hugely. It’s not my kind of music. They’ve been on the radio for how long, and I just don’t listen to that radio station. That’s a smarter move than saying something for a tagline,” she said. “I think that’s silly. Live and let live. I will continue to probably not buy Linkin Park albums.”

Exclusive: Watch Maroon 5′s Dramatic Video For ‘Maps’

by 1 min ago

Adam Levine’s romances in Maroon 5 videos, while passionate — are hardly without their problems. There was that time his wife left him in “One More Night,” the time his girlfriend cheated on him in “Wake Up Call,” the violent, push-and-pull infatuation though out “Misery,” but despite all that, the band’s latest video for “Maps” may be the most dramatic yet.

In the new clip, which premiered on MTV on Tuesday (July 1), Levine find the love of his life lying in a hospital bed in critical condition — heart not beating, face lacerated, eyes lifeless. And once he starts retracing the night — remembering that she stormed out of a party after he was cozying up to another woman — it all gets that much darker.

“Maps” is the lead single off V, out September 2, which finds the band uniting with Gwen Stefani on a track as well as with producers Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin.

When we caught up with Levine earlier this month, he said the next album will be an “all-encompassing kind of record.”

“This album is very much all over the place. There’s some stuff on our record that sounds a little like early Maroon 5, and then there’s some stuff that sounds like the newer direction that we went in,” he told us. “We thought we’d get back to certain elements that ...

Facebook May Have Used You For A Social Experiment

by 22 mins ago

Take a minute to travel back to January 2012 on your Facebook page. Notice anything odd? Were you particularly down, or particularly elated?

If so, you may have been one of the 700,000 users who Facebook unknowingly used in a social experiment to test how social media affects our emotions.

In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers from Facebook and Cornell University altered the Facebook feeds of 689,003 people to display either predominately positive or predominately negative posts for a week. The goal was to see how that effects the tone of their own updates.

But Facebook users aren’t all that happy about this news — not only that the social media giant was toying with their emotions, but that they did so without telling them. But researchers are maintaining that Facebook users indirectly agreed to the study by agreeing to the Facebook’s Data Use Policy, which reads in part, “we may use the information we receive about you…for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research and service improvement.”

In an explanation this weekend (posted, appropriately, on Facebook), Adam Kramer, one of the three authors of the study, apologized, saying that while their research may have been technically legal, it was far from tasteful.

“We felt that it was important to investigate the common worry that seeing friends post positive content leads to people feeling negative or left out. At the same time, we were concerned that exposure to friends’ negativity might lead people to ...
