Lil Boosie Is Changing His Name

by 35 mins ago

Since Lil Boosie’s release from prison earlier this year, fans have been eagerly anticipating new music from him. But anyone waiting on a new Lil Boosie album is out of luck.

That’s not because the album, Touchdown 2 Cause Hell, isn’t coming (though it has been delayed a few times already). It’s because the Louisiana native is changing his name from Lil Boosie to Boosie Badazz.

The 31-year-old has had that nickname for a while now (his 2006 album was called Bad Azz, and his 2009 disc was Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz), but it turns out he’s actually decided to make it his official moniker, a rep for the rapper told XXL.

In the past, the rapper has referred to himself as such on the official release of his song “Crazy” back in August. And on recent spots, like Jeezy’s “Beez Like” and T.I.’s “Jet Fuel,” he was also credited as Boosie Badazz.

No matter what his name is, we’re ready for that Touchdown 2 Cause Hell.

by 19 mins ago

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are officially headed to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Key & Peele” stars will be making their first feature film together in the near future, titled “Keanu.”

And no, it won’t be a spoof about that guy who starred in the “Matrix” trilogy. The plot will reportedly center on a cat that gets kidnapped (kit-napped?).

The announcement comes on the heels of a variety of other Key & Peele-gone-Hollywood news items.

Not only have they signed on to produce New Line Cinema’s upcoming reboot of “Police Academy,” but the Comedy Central duo are also developing a movie around their popular “Substitute Teacher” sketch.

While there is no scheduled release date for “Keanu,” production for the project is set to begin next spring.

Here Are 3 Easy Ways To Dress Like Kanye West This Halloween

by 19 mins ago

Listen, we’re big fans of Kanye West, so the idea of dressing like him has crossed our minds more than a few times even outside of Halloween. Granted, he’s a fashion god, so it’s difficult to get that exact level of swag down, but for Halloween, you’re allowed a little latitude so long as you hit an approximation of the look. Enter us bearing the following Kanye West costume ideas. You might not be able to get your hands on a real Margiela mask, but with a little elbow grease, we’ll get you pretty darn close.

Margiela Masked Kanye

The outfit itself is fairly simple to replicate since Ye is big into minimalism right now, but you’ll need a crafty hand and this tutorial to really nail the gem-laden Margiela face-covering. The clothes (shoes, especially) might be a bit of an investment, but the good news is: They’re so cool, you’ll WANT to wear them long after Halloween.

This Twerking Turtle Must Be Stopped

by 27 mins ago

This past weekend, a video of a turtle reportedly “twerking” to Jason Derulo’s “Wiggle” under a water faucet hit YouTube, and the devastating effects of his much-publicized indiscretion are already palpable.

According to the Completely Fictional Center For Turtle Health And Well-Being, twerking among turtles is up 31 percent in the 18-49 year old demographic since the video’s upload on Saturday (October 18).

Perhaps even more concerning, a shocking 57 percent rise in twerk-related activity has been documented in the under-18 set of impressionable, hard-shelled youths.

This increase comes at the cost of a variety of turtle activities, like turtle-homework, turtle-prayer group, turtle-recycling and turtle-remembering to call your mother. And turtle experts — a noted field of professionals I’m certainly not making up right now for the purposes of satire — fear that this phenomenon will only continue.

When reached for comment, one turtle expert had this to say:

Perhaps we’re already too late.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.

New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert Talks Growing Up, Looking Back, And Moving Forward On ‘Resurrection’

by 53 mins ago

A lot can change for a band in nearly two decades. There are the normal everyday life ups and downs that everyone goes through, of course, and there’s the waxing and waning of cultural trends and public perception to contend with. (Ello, anyone?) But in their lengthy career (the band put out their first EP in 1997), Florida pop-punk icons New Found Glory have largely stayed the course, occasionally flirting with the mainstream, never deviating too far afield from the sound that ultimately earned them their ride-or-die fan base in the first place.

As you might expect from a band crossing their eighth album milestone, they’re somewhat more reflective on Resurrection, as guitarist Chad Gilbert explained over the phone from Connecticut, where he and the band had just finished soundcheck for a show that night. In characteristic form, they’ve been inviting fans request any song they want to hear at their shows. “We have a few hundred songs — but if we can remember it — we’ll play it,” he joked.

Resurrection--Cover-Art

The feeling of rebirth, of dusting oneself off, and moving ahead runs throughout the record; hell, the concept is right there in the title. The band had written the song “Resurrection” first, and it felt like a perfect way to encapsulate the tone of the record. “Singing songs about our friends, you never cared about them,” Jordan Pundik sings. “So long, and thanks for nothing. I’m gone, I’m moving on, watch my resurrection.”

This Marching Band Performed Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies,’ And We Wanna Put A Ring On It

by 1 hour ago

The Florida State University Seminoles crushed Notre Dame on Saturday (October 18) in an epic turnaround game, saving the team’s still-undefeated status. And do you know who the football players have to thank for their victory streak? Beyoncé, obviously.

The FSU Marching Chiefs practically stole the show this past weekend with a halftime performance to be remembered, documented and shared for all the world to see. The band performed a dead-ringer rendition of Bey’s “Single Ladies” without missing a single, beautiful step.

Remember this move?

Nailed it.

OMG and this one?

And the baton twirlers’ creative interpretation of Bey’s signature hand-wave definitely deserves all the rings ever.

Cam’ron Emojis Are Coming To A Phone Near You

by 8 mins ago

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve been using Lil B’s emoji app, BasedMoji, since it dropped last month. It’s a good bet to liven up any text convo, and there’s an option for — well, not quite every occasion, but some.

Now, more MCs are getting in the game.

You’ll be able to add to your rapper emoji collection next month, when Cam’ron releases his own set of emojis. He posted a few previews on his Instagram, including the classic “U Mad” meme from his appearance on “The O’Reilly Factor” a decade ago.

“#Umad CamEmojis nx month,” he wrote.

On another, he shouted out user @coleshneider for “makin’ it happen.” On her page, she posted another image, and explained that it seems Killa won’t be getting his own app, but instead, they’ll be available through Hi-Art.

“I know y’all been waiting on it. @mr_camron emojis available early November on the @hiartapp. #KillaCamEmojis,” she posted.

Cam actually first dropped some info about his emojis over the summer, with a post that suggested — thankfully — that there might be one of him wearing pink fur.

“Just finish meeting with @coleshneider .. She executed a emoji deal for me.. Now we are going over ideas.. KeepCalm #IKnowEmojisArentThisBig #JustBrainStorming #SheDontEvenNeedDaMoney #SheSaidICanHaveHerPercentage Thx #myCaucasian ..Coming this fall..”

We’re just weeks away from your text game improving exponentially. Brace yourself.

Jason Derulo Says Songs Inspired By Jordin Sparks Breakup Are ‘100 Percent’ On The Way

by 6 mins ago

I don’t know about you, but we’re still pretty sad that Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo broke up, but like Jordin said, we’re trying to look on the bright side:

Now it looks like we may find out exactly what caused the cute couple to split when Jason releases new music. And while it sounds like the “Talk Dirty” singer is going all Taylor Swift on us, unlike Taylor, we’ll know exactly who the song is about.

“Oh, 100 percent,” he said when Billboard asked whether he would write songs about his relationship with Sparks.

“I’m somebody who cannot keep those two things separate,” he added. “Like, I have to put it on paper, put it on wax, put it in my songs. I cannot separate the two. My creativity, my personality won’t allow me to separate the two. If that’s what’s going on in my life, that’s in the songs I make as well. It’s definitely a piece of that.”

Jason isn’t the only one that’s been in the studio. His ex been tweeting that she’s back to making music, so there’s a possibility Sparks is also channeling the recent breakup for inspiration.

Jason, who described his mood as “next-level motivated,” won’t be taking any time off following his Talk Dirty Tour. The pop star said he’s been “good” since he and Jordin “amicably” parted after three years of dating.

“I’m good, man. I’ve just kinda been focused on what’s happening in ...

Never Fear, ‘Gotham’: Heroes Are On The Way

by 10 mins ago

Things look pretty grim for “Gotham,” even in its early days. Villains are gathering, the mobs are warring and even the city’s one good cop, future Commissioner James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is having trouble staying on the side of angels.

But don’t worry, Gothamites: heroes are on their way.

That’s what MTV News found out when we caught up with the cast of FOX’s hit show at New York Comic-Con. With so much focus on the villains – and they’re great ones, from Penguin, to Catwoman, to the upcoming serial killer Zsasz – what about the heroes? Sure, we’ve got Gordon, but the young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) won’t be Batman for another, say, 12 seasons or so.

“There’s no choice for people but to take law into their own hands when you can’t trust the law,” executive producer Danny Cannon said. “When the lunatics start to run the asylum, the strongest lunatic will win.”

To find out what McKenzie, as well as stars Donal Logue, Robin Lord Taylor and Erin Richards have to reveal about the upcoming influx of vigilantes, watch above.

11 Minimalist Horror Movie Posters That Will Terrify You, Minimally

by 12 mins ago

artwork by Shannon Baek, Quinlan Omahne, and Dahee Yang.

Horror movie posters like “Candyman” and “Evil Dead 2″ tend to favor the gory and/or terrifying over anything vaguely resembling minimalism — a photo of a bee flying into someone’s eye is bound to grab one’s attention, after all. However, this series of MTV News-created minimalist horror movie posters proves that, when it comes to these 11 iconic films, the devil is not in the details.
