These People Loved Starbucks So Much They Got It Tattooed Onto Their Bodies

by 29 mins ago

There’s an old maxim that says if you enjoy what you do for a living, then it’s not really work at all. It’s a nice thought, until you realize that the most die-hard Starbucks fans — those who have emblazoned their loyalty into their skin in permanent ink — are excluded from getting a job at their mecca.

That is, until now.

Starbucks’ recently updated dress code for employees, called “partners” in ‘Bucks-speak, now allows for workers to display their polite non-facial tattoos. (They can also wear skirts and untuck their shirts and wear black jeans and rock tiny nose studs now.) Huge news for these TK caffeine devotees!

Here are several things that could happen in this brave new tattoo-showing world:

1. This guy can make your no-water soy chai now.

2. You might catch someone wearing this art all like, “did you want that hot or cold?”

5. You can ask the human sporting this ink whether they’re sure they used non-dairy milk in your latte.

by 1 min ago

Art by Julia Panek

Going to concerts is big fun! Fun that will commence right about now in New York City at the 2014 CMJ Music Marathon. A weeklong music fest such as this means a few things: 1.) Tons of music (duh), 2.) Long nights (Mm-hmmm), 3.) Copious opportunities to act like a pain in A to the double S while partaking in all that music during those long nights.

Yup, show etiquette is a lost art — or at least one that might require a brush-up in most music lovers’ books — which is why MTV has a complied a handy concert manners guide below. Whip it out if you’re hitting up CMJ in NYC this week, or if you’re a living, breathing person who sometimes sees live music and doesn’t want to be a pariah.

Chance The Rapper’s Brother, Taylor Bennett, Charged With Battery After Party Assault

by 15 mins ago

Chance the Rapper’s younger brother, Taylor Bennett, has been working hard on his music career over the past year, dropping off gems like “New Chevy.” But now the 18-year-old Chicago resident has some legal trouble to deal with.

According to DNAinfo Chicago, Bennett and his friend Jake Kalmin attended a party in Chicago back on September 28, where the rapper reportedly assaulted another man who was drunk and accidentally stepped on his foot.

Prosecutors claim that other party goers captured cell phone footage of Taylor Bennett and Jake Kalmin as they kicked, punched and stomped on the man, leaving him bleeding as they quickly left the party.

Bennett turned himself into police last Thursday, and was charged with aggravated battery for causing great bodily harm. He and and Kalmin were held on $75,000 bond.

The 19-year-old victim received surgical staples in his head and he was treated for bleeding in his brain, a fracture in his skull and now suffers from headaches and a speech impediment, according to prosecutors.

Bennett’s camp has not issued a public statement about the incident.

Britney Spears’ British Accent Is Back! Go Call The Gov-a-nah

by 22 mins ago

Britney Spears loves to use her Britishney accent in her music, but is the songstress’ imitation of her friends across the pond brilliant enough to land a film role?

The “Work Bitch” singer attempts her best accent during an audition for tennis pro Andy Murray and “IT Crowd” actor Richard Ayoade in a promo for Stand Up to Cancer’s fake biopic “Andy Murray: The Movie.” The 32-year-old is up for the role of Murray’s girlfriend Kim Sears.

“Cool, blimey, guv’nor! Should we celebrate with a cup of tea and a biscuit?” BRITney says in a rather uncertain Cockney. Her stereotypical line results in a single deadpan response.

Oh, and you’ll also recognize familiar British faces Andy Serkis, Gordon Ramsey and more who hilariously audition for the lead role.

Did Brit make the part? Watch the teaser below to find out!

“Andy Murray: The Movie,” which will also stars Ed Sheeran and Pharrell, will air in the U.K. this Friday.

You’ve Seen 2 Chainz Try The Most Expensive Sh–, Now Here’s The Brokest

by 25 mins ago

With reporting by Rob Markman

2 Chainz has lavish taste, but recently, he’s taken things to a whole different level.

With GQ, he’s been trying the “Most Expensive Sh–” around — including a burger with gold on it, a $2 million car and $30,000 headphones.

But what’s the “Most Brokest Sh–” he’s ever done? MTV News decided we had to ask — and it turned out he had thought about that very question recently.

“I pulled out the whip and dropped the top, I’m just feeling myself,” the rapper said during last week’s Def Jam 30th anniversary concert in New York (this wasn’t the broke part). “I go over to my homie’s house — his mom’s house — they don’t even know I’m coming. So, I go in the crib, they’re like, ‘Oh, let me get my hair together! Let’s take pictures.’ The offered me dinner, I said yes.”

They all ate together and enjoyed what sounded like a wonderful, hearty home-cooked meal. Which made them think back to when that wasn’t always the case.

“They said, ‘Yo, Tit, do you remember when you used to eat bread and Kool-Aid all the time?’” he continued. “It was one of them moments where I had to reflect on how I had the big glass of the sugar Kool-Aid, and I had the bread on top, and that would be my holder. And I’d take the bread off, dip it in the Kool-Aid, eat it. But it was almost because we wasn’t eating ...

Listen To The ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Soundtrack The Way You Were Supposed To

by 35 mins ago

The success of “Guardians of the Galaxy” was limited to the roughly $730 million it made at the box office. The soundtrack topped the charts with nothing more than some retro hits and curation from Peter Quill’s mom.

Now, thanks to Marvel and Hollywood Records, you’ll be able to listen to “Awesome Mix Vol. 1″ in the form in which it was meant to be enjoyed.

awesome-mix-tape-630x416

That’s right! Starting on November 17, you can buy the “Guardians of the Galaxy” soundtrack on cassette tape. (Kid, if you have questions, just go here. I don’t have time for this.)

As much as I appreciated the vinyl releases of the soundtrack, this is really what we’ve need the whole time. The cassette will come in packaging that looks exactly like the version we saw in the movie, complete with a hand-written track list.

“Awesome Mix Vol. 1 will be available in independent music stores, so you may have to do some hunting to find it. This is a limited edition, so it will only be available until supplies last or December 31.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

‘Real World’ Is Digging Up ‘Skeletons’ For Season 30

by 23 mins ago

Earlier this year, “Real World Ex: Plosion” (the cast members of which are featured in the photo above) dropped a bomb that left San Francisco in shambles. But the series’ upcoming 30th season, which will return to the Windy City for the first time since 2001, is about to blow open many a closet door in the Midwest.

On “Real World: Skeletons,” seven strangers will move in together as per the show’s typical formula, but soon, shared chores and shower schedules will prove to be the least of their worries as a brand-new twist comes into play: They’ll each be forced to confront the last person on Earth (or sometimes, the last people) they want to see.

On a rotating basis, “skeletons” will become temporary tenants of the house — aka a converted Chicago nightclub — to address its residents’ past issues. One woman will reveal she’s been impregnated by a cast member and will soon give birth, a former cyber bully will come face to face with those she’s virtually tortured and a son will meet — and proceed to live with — the father he’s only ever heard about. Throw in a family feud, a story of in-office drama and a case of scorned hookups who’ve got a single proud player in common, and we’ve got a show on our hands! Who’s bringing the popcorn?

“No one wants their worst enemy or embarrassing past moving in with them, but by facing your past you actually grow. ...

‘Sharknado 3′ Is Coming To Destroy The East Coast

by 25 mins ago

If you’re a fan of intentionally bad B-movies with random celebrities from the ’90s and computer-generated sharks, this news is for you: “Sharknado 3″ is coming, according to the movie’s official Twitter account.

The first two “Sharknado” movies took place in Los Angeles and New York respectively (with the second one receiving its own video game adaptation), but apparently the third will be as sprawling as ever, encompassing the entirety of a most likely green-screened East Coast. Considering the specific callouts to DC and Orlando, I’d say that the White House and Disney World are not going to be particularly sharkless.

No D-listers looking for a paycheck casting news has been announced as of yet, though we hope that Tara Reid reprises her role as, err, “that woman played by Tara Reid” from the first two, but only if she wears her certified Sharknado perfume.

As for the plot? It hasn’t been announced, but I’m going to guess it’s about sharks who attack residents of the East Coast while traveling in some kind of super-twister.

We’ll see how close that forecast is when “Sharknado 3″ comes out in 2015.

by 12 mins ago

Lauren Conrad, former HBIC of The Hills and golden haired kween, took a break from basking in her newlywed glo and uploading the most perfect Instagram pics we’ve ever seen to so graciously give us all an early Christmas gift: some fresh winter-themed ensembles for her LC Lauren Conrad collection for Kohl’s. While I previously wasn’t aware LC even knew what winter was since she seems to spend her days perpetually drenched in California sunlight, the new, affordable looks she’s put together for the upcoming chilly months are actually perfection. Four for you, LC! You go, LC!

Her recent additions are exactly the kind of feminine, Pinterest-ready (and #blessed) looks we’ve come to expect from Miss Conrad (oops, Mrs. Tell!) and include every possible outfit you’ll need to straight up rule the holiday season, from glittery snowflake sweaters to a bejeweled crop top-tulle skirt combo that’s practically begging to be worn on New Year’s Eve. Head on over to Kohl’s to take a peek at the rest of LC’s new must-haves, and may God be with your wallet.
