Watch Drake Go Ham At The University Of Kentucky Big Blue Madness Basketball Event

by 2 mins ago

Drake has made his love for all things sports known. Whether it’s putting out the name-checking track “Draft Day,” cheering on his very own Toronto Raptors while lint-rolling his pants, or delivering a pep talk to the University of Kentucky’s basketball team after their Final Four win.

And though we know he’s loyal to his Raptors, it’s Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness pre-season scrimmage that drew Drizzy to go the extra mile—including a full dress down and warm up with the team.

First, he personally greeted every Wildcats player with a high five and his signature Drizzy good luck grin:

Unfortunately, his three-pointer is more of a brick…

But he made up for it by showing off his champion lint-rolling skills:

Truly, he is a champion lint-roller. If you need your own though, don’t forget that he had some custom-made.

And he introduced Coach Calipari to the crowd with another inspirational pump-up speech:

Drake sure knows how to warm up a crowd—might want to work on that 3-point shot though.

Logan Lerman Maybe, Possibly Punched Brad Pitt In The Face

by 42 mins ago

Filming the World War II tank drama “Fury” required Logan Lerman to squeeze into tight quarters with his co-stars, including Brad Pitt, and before he closed the hatch on his cast at the start of filming, director David Ayer wanted the actors to get even closer.

So he made them physically fight each other.

Lerman told us all about the exercise during out most recent interview, and it sounds like Ayer took the phrase “hands-on” to new extremes.

“One of the main things that we did every day that was a part of the director’s process was fought each other. We sparred together,” Lerman said. “We just fought openly. That really broke barriers surprisingly. Once you’re able to hit somebody and start punching them in the face, you can go anywhere with them physically in a scene.”

So in his many bouts with the cast, did Lerman ever land a good one on Pretty Boy Pitt? He says he doesn’t remember, but from how he describes Pitt’s fighting style, it sounds like a “no.”

“Brad’s a tough guy — you know — to punch,” Lerman said. “He’s quick. He’s got those moves.”

Prep for the film didn’t stop at fighting. In the four or five months before filming on “Fury” began, the cast spent nights together in tents together.

Wow, talk about intense!

(I regret nothing.)

“Fury” hits theaters on October 17.

Nicholas Hoult Reveals How Filming ‘Young Ones’ Was Like ‘Charlie And The Chocolate Factory’

by 8 mins ago

With reporting by Josh Horowitz

Young Ones” might be a post-apocalyptic drama with a stellar cast including Nicholas Hoult, Michael Shannon, Elle Fanning and more – but according to Hoult, what set the movie apart was really the living conditions.

“We were miles away from anywhere in this little bubble,” Hoult told MTV News about filming director Jake Paltrow’s now-in-theaters film, “and that’s often the situation with anything. You get in there, and meet these new people, suss each other out, and suddenly, hopefully, it all clicks into place and you find a groove. You’re living, sleeping – not sleeping – in a house together.”

Laughing, Hoult clarified his little sleeping gaffe, joking that he and his co-stars were in, “Just one giant bed, like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.”

Jokes aside, Hoult liked the close quarters, something that allowed him to get closer to co-star Shannon.

“when I first met Michael I thought he hated me,” Hoult recalled. “When you get to know him you realize he’s very dry, he mumbles along, doesn’t make a lot of eye contact, has this face which is so intense. And then hopefully he warms to you a little bit and then kind of takes care of you.”

Given he and Shannon were essentially living together for the duration of the “Young Ones” shoot, Hoult didn’t just get Shannon to warm to him – he also took the veteran actor on as something of a guru.

“We’d sit on the veranda in the evening,” Hoult said, “and ...

How One Female Lawyer Confronted A Sexist Judge Who Refused To Honor Her Maternity Leave

by 9 mins ago

On the list of things that qualify as good excuses, it seems like maternity leave is an air-tight reason, right? Wrong! A judge in Atlanta denied Stacy Ehrisman-Mickle’s request to postpone a hearing due to the fact that she had a baby only four weeks earlier. In response to her request, Judge J. Dan Pelletier Sr. wrote, “No good cause. Hearing date set prior to counsel accepting representation.”

Clearly, Ehrisman-Mickle was miffed at his decision, especially given that two other immigration judges had granted similar motions that she’d filed with a note from her doctor. She had accepted the immigration case in July, but her clients couldn’t afford to hire her right away and went to their first hearing alone. Then they hired her in the beginning of September, when she agreed to the case, assuming that her maternity leave request would be an acceptable reason to postpone the October date for their second hearing.

“I was in a state of panic. I didn’t know what to do with my baby,” she told The Associated Press in an interview on Thursday (October 16).

Left without options on such short notice—a four-week-old baby is too young for daycare and her truck-driver husband was out of the state—Stacy called her doctor to see if she could bring the baby to court with her. Her pediatrician assured her that as long as the baby was in a carrier facing her chest and didn’t touch anyone in the court room, it should be fine.

A Love Letter To Tyler Posey, On His 23rd Day Of Birth

by 4 mins ago

Dear Tyler Posey,

Happy birthday! You are 23 today! We’ve had it marked on our calendar for weeks.

We’re lying: months.

No, we’re not obsessed. We’re just a little…obsessed. But can you blame us? You never wear a shirt. Sometimes you don’t even wear pants. For charity!

YOU STRIP FOR CHARITY. We all win.

posey1

You look nice in pink.

But back to our point. TyPo (can we call you that? Too late — we already do): We see this being a big year for you. First of all, you’re getting married soon-ish (where’s our Save the Date card?). And while it kinda/sorta/absolutely gives us a case of the sadz to know we’ll officially never have a chance to call you our boyfriend (at least when we’re in public), it also makes us happy to see you so happy. We hear this type of selflessness is what true love is all about.

Watch: ‘Being Tyler Posey’

Secondly, you’re like, a bona fide star now. Even old people know your name. Even Ellen. We can’t help but recall the first season of “Teen Wolf,” and think about how much your acting has evolved, your confidence has grown, your facial hair has grown.

You’re a grown man now — which makes this post a little less cougary, thankfully — and we feel pretty lucky to have watched you become one over the years. Here’s to a happy, healthy 23!

Love,
MTV News

P.S. You really should wear pink more often.

Leonardo DiCaprio Takes On Gorilla Poachers In New Netflix Documentary

by 1 hour ago

Leonardo DiCaprio is going gorillas for his next film—literally.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix announced yet another industry shaking move with its plans to team up with “The Wolf Of Wall Street” actor for “Virunga,” a documentary about park rangers and the gorillas they safeguard.

DiCaprio will executive produce the film under his production company Appian Way.

“Films like Virunga are powerful stories that are a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of our world, the forces that are threatening to destroy it, and the people who are fighting to protect it,” DiCaprio said. “Partnering with Netflix on this film is an exciting opportunity to inform and inspire individuals to engage on this topic.”

Orlando von Einsiedel has been tapped to direct the film, which will explore the conflict between park rangers and the poachers who threaten the endangered primates in Virunga National Park in the Congo.

Coupled with its four-picture deal with Adam Sandler, this venture solidifies Netflix’s move into the all-new original feature film business.

“Virunga” will air on Netflix and hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on the same day: November 7.
