What If ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Had ‘Star Wars’-Style Credits?

by 18 mins ago

If you haven’t already checked out StarWars.com’s Crawl Creator, you absolutely should. It allows you to make an authentic “Star Wars” credit sequence with whatever title or text that you want.

I’ve had a bunch of fun with it already. They’re still working out some of the bugs, so I can’t share my creations with you directly. In the mean time, you can plug my “Guardians of the Galaxy” crawl into the creator to get a taste of what a mash-up of the two might be like.

The war waging between the Kree and the Xandarians, after years of violence and countless lives lost, has ended in a peace treaty.

Enraged by what he perceives as surrender by his people, Ronan the Accuser has turned to Thanos for a way to destroy Xandar and the Nova Corps.

In exchange for the Power Stone, the Mad Titan promises to end Xandar and perhaps the universe as we know it…

Got a fun riff on the “Star Wars” crawl? Post it in the comments below!

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.

‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ Reunion Part 2: All Hell Breaks Loose On Set!

by 18 mins ago

New name alert: Puerto Rican Tornado!

Somebody get Dana White on the phone, pronto, because Joseline Hernandez went from 0 to 100 real quick on the second installment of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion show.

Punches were thrown, weaves flew, arms flailed and security guards were easily overrun as a brawl to end all brawls began and ended with Joseline, who was on a rampage.

She was the ultimate unleashed bull in a china shop: Nothing and no one could stop her.

“I come everywhere ready to fight,” Joseline said backstage after the fight(s).

Picking up where the show left off last week, after Benzino drew first blood by mumbling about Joseline being on crack, Stevie J and his enforcer charged ahead toward Althea and her fiance, opening up several cans of whoop-ass.

“I bust you in the mouth,” Benzino yelled towards Joseline. “I did that, bitch!”

Security was quick to the stage to separate all pugilists, but a determined Stevie and Joseline continued to break free from multiple restraints, with Joseline exacting further assaults on Althea, Mimi Faust and an unsuspecting Tammy Rivera. Even Deb Antney was somehow pulled into the fracas.

“Don’t get in this fight,” Joseline warned Deb. “I don’t wanna fight no old lady.”

Viewers weren’t privy to Deb’s response at the time, but later on in the broadcast, Waka Flocka Flame’s mother offered her retort.

“Deb is wit it if it comes her way,” she said, before explaining what she saw in her attacker. “She came up like ...

Does This Most Recent Photo Theft Feel Different, Or Is It Just Us?

by 23 mins ago

By Caitlin Abber

If you’ve been on the internet in the past 48 hours, you know that personal and private photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and several other female celebrities were stolen from their phones and shared widely across the internet. You’ve likely seen people tweet their opinions about it, and heard commentators on TV discuss the issue ad nauseam. In solidarity, and also just because women are generally fed up with this crap, many celebs, including Lena Dunham and Emma Watson, have also taken to Twitter to express their disgust.

But what is interesting isn’t the fact that people are talking about it (people gonna talk!), but what they are saying: The collective response has been rife with anger — and noticeably so.

It now seems that we are talking about the real issues behind the violation itself, and using language that clearly identifies who is in the wrong (the leaker of the photos), and who is not at fault (the women who took the photos of themselves). In the past this hasn’t always been the case, and you can still hear echoes of that when people say things like, “if you didn’t want your photos leaked, you shouldn’t have taken nude photos in the first place.” But that doesn’t seem to be the main message we are hearing.

“I think that the most valuable thing we can do is to reinforce, over and over, that 1) this is a crime, 2) this is a sexual violation, ...

Cop Drives Drunk Man Home, Sends Him Funny Text The Next Day

by 8 mins ago

Being hungover is punishment enough for a rough night out, so it’s kinda nice when a friend checks up on you the next morning to make sure you’re OK (and to bring you a bagel). It’s even more badass when a cop texts you.

That’s exactly what happened to Marty, who was luckily driven home by the police after what we can only assume was a raucous night of fun and debauchery. A cop sent Marty this thoughtful message the next day:

Waking up with only a hazy memory of the night before is a scary feeling. It’s no fun to frantically text everyone in your phone to piece together the details of the night à la “The Hangover.” It’s even less fun to be the poor soul that has to take care of a drunk friend — so we tip our hats to Mr. Nice Ploice Man for getting Marty home safely.

One Woman Tells Us What It Really Feels Like When Your Nude Photos Leak Online

by 8 mins ago

Have you ever wondered what it feels like when a photo you thought would only be shared with the person you’re intimate with is instead shared with the entire Internet? That’s exactly what happened to Allyson Pereira in high school, and an event that’s shaped much of the rest of her life.

In the wake of a massive phone hack that saw the illegal release of photos from celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and more, MTV News asked Allyson, now an anti-bullying and sexting expert, to share in her own words her experience, its aftermath, and what advice she can give to anyone – celebrity or otherwise – going through the same thing.

By Allyson Pereira

I remember what it felt like to wait up all night praying that my parents wouldn’t find out what I had done. I remember the crushing feeling when I realized my ex-boyfriend had forwarded my topless picture to everyone in his contact list. And I remember the shame; the deep, gnawing regret that I had done the unthinkable. I remember this clearly because when my ex-boyfriend forwarded my topless picture, I spent the whole night sobbing. I didn’t eat, I didn’t talk to anyone, and I felt completely and totally alone. But the feeling that was the worst of all, was realizing that everyone I knew and complete strangers had the potential of seeing me naked and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop them.

Almost immediately the harassment began in ...

Rita Ora Brought A Ton Of Wardrobe Changes To Made In America

by 13 mins ago

If we’re being honest here, I only wore, like, two outfits over Labor Day weekend. I also slept in one of those outfits. Rita Ora, on the other hand, wore upwards of four outfits at Made In America over the weekend.

Rita OraGetty Images

To perform with Iggy Azalea, Rita wore printed KTZ x Been Trill shorts and a black sports bra. If you’re wondering what’s going on with the fabric emerging from her back, join the club.

Unfortunately, a shot from the back doesn’t clarify things—in fact, it may complicate them? It looks like Rita is wearing a jacket made from the same green skull material, but it’s hanging from her back from thick black straps. That’s an alternative to tying your jacket around your waist, for sure—maybe it’ll be the hottest trend at New York Fashion Week?

Later that day, Rita changed into another KTZ x Been Trill look. She wore the red linen baseball jersey and shorts together with a red-and-white pair of Adidas adilettes. All in favor of electing Rita queen of sticking to a limited color palette? It’s settled.

For her solo performance, Rita wore head-to-toe Adidas from her recently released collaboration.

Calvin Harris Gives Us 15 Seconds Of His New Track And It’s Super Soulful

by 28 mins ago

Expect to hear a lot more from Calvin Harris in the near future. As the DJ/producer preps his upcoming dance album, he teased a collaboration with U.K. soul singer John Newman on Tuesday (September 2), giving fans a clip of “Blame” on Instagram.

The snippet zooms out of an all-white-clad, remorseful-looking Newman, whose vocals dominate the first seconds of the clip, along with piano. But the music soon gets Calvin Harris-y (you know, that chugging EDM build-up that leads to a bass drop or belted note?) right before our teaser ends.

“Blame” is the follow-up to Harris’ “Summer” and will be out September 7. Presumably, the two songs will be featured on the producer’s so-far-untitled fourth studio album.

And if you’re curious who this John Newman character is, learn more about MTV’s Artist to Watch alum and catch up with his “Love Me Again” video below.

Nev Schulman Is Officially An Author, And He’s Got ‘In Real Life’ Tips For Internet Junkies

by 35 mins ago

Catfish” host Nev Schulman: filmmaker, detective of online love gone awry and, as of today, verifiable author.

The virtual sleuth’s new book, “In Real Life,” has officially hit bookstores, and it couples topics that are explored on the hit MTV show (why people fall in love with Catfish, how you can spot red flags online) with new conversations (the power of the “digital detox,” why fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be). Whether your relationship’s in the pits, or you can’t seem to curb your addiction to the World Wide Web, the in-print guide will double as your bible, and Nev told MTV News all about what you can expect with a read.

See what Nev said, head to his website to order a copy of “In Real Life” and check out the details of his book tour below!

You’re an Internet expert on a TV show — why a book?
I’m very actively looking to branch out — to begin to define myself as more than the “Catfish” guy, as well as someone with a more rounded personality. I feel very satisfied when I make the show, because it’s a real product and I’m producing real material. But I thought a book — though it seems like the antithesis to what I do with social media and my career in the online space — would be a really good thing for me, and for those people like me who find themselves addicted to indulging in social ...

Jeezy’s Seen It All Is Packed With Tales Of The Grind

by 40 mins ago

Maybe you found it tough to get out of bed this morning, facing the realities of the week ahead after a holiday weekend. Or maybe you just can’t believe that summer has already basically come and gone, and the days are about to get shorter and colder. Or maybe you simply need that extra boost — to finish that assignment or project, to reach that goal, hell, to clean your room — like we all do sometimes.

Lucky for you, Jeezy’s new album, Seen It All, dropped on Tuesday (September 2).

No, the title of his fifth major label effort doesn’t fall in line with the theme that’s been woven in album titles during his career: That Jeezy is the Thug Motivator. But that feeling that you get in your gut when listening to one of his project remains throughout his latest.

Professor Jeezy is a little more experienced, a little wiser and a bit more reflective this time around — something symbolized both in the title of the album and his name change (he dropped the Young, of course) — all while still kicking his seasoned street stories to push you to keep pushing. “Enough,” for instance, is a tale of how all the hard work paid off, and how you can be just like Jeezy “if you grind hard enough.”

“When I listen to a lot of ‘Pac’s albums and a lot of his records, it was like then when I listened to ‘em, I loved ‘em because they ...
