‘Walking Dead’ Brick Building Sets Help Bring The Zombie Apocalypse Home

by 29 mins ago

As if AMC’s “The Walking Dead” wasn’t big enough, thanks to McFarlane Toys it’s about to invade an entirely new area of your local toy store. Move over, Lego and Kre-O: “Walking Dead” brick building sets are here! Or will be, this October.

The entirely new line of toys will debut at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, eventually hitting stores this Fall. And the concept is a pretty simple one: instead of cartoony figurines and blocky playsets, what if buildable toys looked like high-end collectibles? That’s exactly what Todd McFarlane, owner of McFarlane Toys, was aiming to do when he moved from the specialty shop to a new area of Toys R Us.

“Why can’t the art simply be better and cooler in that aisle?” McFarlane said when MTV News talked to him over the phone.

According to McFarlane, this is the mindset he brought when trying to tackle action figures for brands like “Halo,” sports figures (NBA and MLB), and yes, “Walking Dead.” Now he’s trying to tackle the same problem, but with figures that are a little over an inch tall.

And it seems like he’s solved that problem. The figures and associated sets will all work smoothly with any Legos or other brick brands you have hanging around, but will look decidedly different from the brightly colored worlds of Emmet and friends.

Instead of pirate ships and more kid-friendly landscapes, the “Walking Dead” starting sets will include Daryl Dixon and Chopper, the Governor’s room ...

‘Teen Wolf’ Poll: Will Liam Make A Good Additon To Scott’s Pack?

by 21 mins ago

Scott McCall and his friends might have taken down an alpha wolf, a few Oni and the dreaded Nogitsune, but on tonight’s “Teen Wolf” episode, a new student (and a freshman, at that) had ‘em beat.

Liam, who’d transferred from a private school to play lacrosse for Beacon Hills High School, was a force to be reckoned with as soon as he stepped onto the field. And though it seemed like he had the power of the supernatural on his side, Scott couldn’t smell or hear a trace o’ werewolf on ‘em. Liam embarrassed Scott and Stiles through most of the tryout, but incumbent captain Scott eventually got his act together by the end of a two-on-two scrimmage, and laid a hit on Liam that was so hard, it landed him in the hospital.

Liam2

As has been the case many times in Beacon Hills, though, that turned out to be the most dangerous place an injured person could be; when Sean, a wendigo, started chowing down on the building’s patients, Liam found himself in harm’s way. After apprehending Liam, Sean dangled the injured student over the edge of the hospital’s roof while holding Scott’s arms behind his back. And when it looked like Liam was a goner, Scott thrust out his jaw and caught Liam’s arms…with his teeth. The good news? He’s saved, and his busted leg will probably be good as new by morning. The bad news? He may not have wanted ...

Kanye West’s Latest Rant Shows Why He’s Exactly Like A Porcupine

by 17 mins ago

By Maurice Bobb

Kanye West compared the intrusion of paparazzi in his life to rape — and managed to compare himself to a porcupine — during another rant at his second show at the Wireless Festival at London’s Finsbury Park Saturday (July 5).

Dressed in a black and white jacket and jeans with a silver-studded mask, the Yeezus MC took a detour during his performance of “Runaway” to offer an “explanation” for his altercation with photographer Daniel Ramos last year at LAX.

“Everybody needs a day off,” Kanye said. “Everybody out here likes sex, right? Sex is great when you and your partner be like ‘Hey this something we both wanna do.’ But if one of the people don’t wanna do that, what is that called? That’s called rape. That’s called violation.”

As smoke plumed from the stage backed by a large video screen showing cascading waterfalls, Kanye explained that he was a “mix between shy, lazy and a little bit arrogant.”

“Anytime I tell the truth when I get up here, everybody thinks it’s so crazy, right?” he asked. “And the media paint me as if I’m some sort of villain or like I’ve got a bad bone in my body. I’m really more of a porcupine or a blowfish. And the photos they always take is when that blowfish is blown up or when that porcupine is defending itself from the lies and control and the manipulation that you deal with if you are an artist. Sometimes, ...

B.o.B Delivers His ‘Mission Statement’ In New Video

by 6 mins ago

“The music industry is sickening/ But no one’ll ever admit the sh–,” B.o.B raps in the video for “Mission Statement,” released on Monday (July 7). Thankfully, Bobby Ray is here with the antidote.

The Atlanta native clearly has a few things to get off his chest, and he uses this track, off of his upcoming mixtape No Genre Pt. 2, as one way to do that. As he talks to the camera in between his first and second verse — each delivered with frantic energy and precision — B.o.B offers what appears to be part of his mission statement: “You can’t box it in,” he says. “You’ll never be able to describe me.”

We’ll describe this one as dope. How’s that?

In addition to the new visual, over the weekend, the Atlantic Records artist dropped the audio for “Swing My Way,” featuring Sevyn Streeter, which is a remake of the K.P. & Envyi hit “Shorty Swing My Way” from 1998.

Listen below, and check for No Genre Pt. 2 on Wednesday.

Things Get Weird In Majid Jordan’s ‘A Place Like This’ Video

by 7 mins ago

By Maurice Bobb

Majid Jordan, best known for their contributions to Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” served up a trippy new video Monday (July 7) for “A Place Like This,” from their upcoming EP of the same name.

The Common Good-directed clip follows a seeming dangerous infatuation between a man and a woman — with the visuals flashing intermittently to the OVO Sound duo—Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman.

After he appears to be comatose in bed, she goes back out to the party, only to find him on the dancefloor, with confetti rising instead of falling around them. Once in the bedroom, they both disrobe before her kisses cause him to pass out. Unable to resuscitate him, she just looks at him, longingly as the video ends.

A Place Like This is scheduled to be released on July 22.

CIA Speaks Up On Those Tupac Murder Conspiracy Theories

by 1 hour ago

Nearly 18 years after his death, people are still incredibly curious about the murder of Tupac Shakur. Conspiracy theories abound — with some even suggesting that he isn’t dead after all, but living on a remote island.

But who could have the answers?

Well, we know who doesn’t (or so they claim…): The CIA.

The Central Intelligence Agency clarified that on Monday (July 7), after a series of tweets sent out to celebrate one month of being on the social networking site, where they responded to some of the top questions they’ve been asked in that span.

So, yup, people are still curious and skeptical about what happened to Tupac.

And they still forget their passwords. And the CIA swears they can’t help recover them.

Lil Durk Drops Signed to the Streets 2: Listen Here

by 6 mins ago

Lil Durk is signed to Def Jam, true. But he’s Signed to the Streets 2, and is out to remind everyone with his latest mixtape, which he released on Monday (July 7).

The Chicago native’s latest tape is hosted by DJ Drama and Don Cannon, and features production from Young Chop, Cardo, C-Sick and more, as well as features from French Montana and Migos.

The release should satisfy fans for the time being, but Durk has no plans on slowing down. He has plans to drop his major label debut in 2014, as well — along with a heavy-hitter single to kick things off.

“I’mma put out a single with Chris Brown and French, then I’mma shoot for an album,” Durk recently told HotNewHipHop of his plans for the rest of the year.

Until then, you can stream Signed to the Streets 2.

Man Sues MLB, ESPN For $10m Because He Fell Asleep At Game

by 21 mins ago

Nobody ever accused baseball of being the fastest-moving sport, and a guy’s liable to doze off after a few innings, especially when beer is added to the mix. But we’d NEVER imply that Andrew Robert Rector enjoyed a sip of any adult beverage before slumbering at the April 13 Yankees-Red Sox game, ’cause this dude is lawyered up.

When an ESPN cameraman noticed Rector catching some Zs at Yankee Stadium, announcers Dan Shulman and John Kruk poked fun at him for a couple minutes:

Rector is now suing the network, its announcers, Major League Baseball and even the Yankees themselves (maybe they should’ve played more thrillingly?) in Bronx County Supreme Court for $10 million, claiming defamation and emotional damage. The legal complaint argues that the broadcast led the public to assume Rector is a “symbol of failure” and furthermore:

“Plaintiff is [an] unintelligent and stupid individual.
“Plaintiff is not worthy to be fan of the New York Yankee[s].
“Plaintiff is a fatty cow that need[s] two seats…
“Plaintiff is [a] confused individual that neither understands nor knows anything about history and the meaning of rivalry between Red Sox and New York Yankee[s].
“Plaintiff is so stupid that he cannot differentiate between his house and public place by snoozing throughout the fourth inning of the Yankee game.”

Maybe the ESPN commentary was a little harsh — who hasn’t fallen asleep in public? — but $10 million is a ridiculous amount of cash. George Constanza could’ve been a rich, rich man:
