‘Spider-Man’: With Woodley Out, Who Should Play Mary Jane?

Face it, tiger — you need to start looking for a new jackpot.

At Sundance, actress Shailene Woodley spoke with MTV News about the possibility of playing Mary Jane Watson in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3," after her role was cut from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." To hear her tell it, Woodley's upcoming schedule with the next two "Divergent" films could stand in the way of her reprising the Mary Jane role — leaving the part wide-open, should the character appear in the third "Amazing Spider-Man" as expected.

With Woodley all but out of the running, it's worth thinking about who can step in with their own take on Mary Jane. Here are a few actors we have in mind:

Margot Robbie
The "Wolf of Wall Street" leading lady is on the rise, thanks to her fantastic work in Martin Scorsese's fantastic drama. In the past few days, Robbie has booked two new roles, in the upcoming "Tarzan" remake and in the post-apocalyptic drama "Z for Zachariah." Clearly, Hollywood is getting in the Robbie business while the getting's still good, and it'll only be a matter of time before she's approached for superhero movies — if she hasn't been already.

If Robbie's interested in the comic book movie scene, then there are few characters she's better suited for than Mary Jane. Outwardly and inwardly gorgeous in every sense of the word, Robbie fits MJ to the letter(s).

Megan Boone
As special agent Elizabeth Keen on "The Blacklist," Boone has a weekly televised platform to show off her talents. She's beautiful, she's smart, she's kind, but she ...

Justin Timberlake Covers Elvis, Tupac, Michael Jackson And More All In One Show

INGLEWOOD, California — If Justin Timberlake's rockin' VMAs set last August didn't prove it, rest assured that at 32 years old, JT's dance moves are still sharp as ever.

The singer hit, in his words, "the real L.A." on Monday night during his latest stop on The 20/20 Experience World Tour at the newly renovated Forum arena in Inglewood, delivering a three-hour set that left fans wanting for nothing. JT and the Tennessee Kids performed Timberlake's biggest hits past and present (N'SYNC tracks excluded), including "Rock Your Body," "Like I Love You," "TKO," "Cry Me a River," "Suit & Tie," "SexyBack," "Mirrors" and even a Jay Z-less version of "Holy Grail" (a wicked tease, if you ask us).

"I didn't know if you were gonna go Hollywood on me, but this is a real f---ing crowd," Timberlake joked at one point. Then, raising a shot glass to toast the audience: "This is the real L.A. out here."

Though Timberlake confessed to seeing "a lot of faces I know" in the audience, the fans weren't treated to any familiar faces onstage. The singer did, however, pay tribute to the city with a brief cover of Tupac's "California Love." Later, JT would dive into Elvis' "Heartbreak Hotel," Michael Jackson's "Human Nature," Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison" and Bloodhound Gang's "The Roof Is On Fire."

Timberlake will stop by Denver on Wednesday before returning to the City of Angels on Sunday for the Grammys, where he is up for seven trophies.

‘Ride Along’ Speeds Past Box-Office Records

Although Ice Cube once rapped "F--- Tha Police," this weekend's "Ride Along" became the #1 movie in America. And he got there by playing a cop.

"Ride Along" sped past previous record-holder "Cloverfield" with the biggest January opening in history, grabbing an estimated $41.6 million ($48.1 million over the four-day Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend) in its nationwide debut. The action comedy stars Cube as a comically mean cop who takes his sister's security guard boyfriend out on the job in an attempt to scare him off. Kevin Hart plays Cube's comedic foil, fresh off the success last summer's "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain" standup comedy concert film and a decade removed from the critical and commercial dud "Soul Plane."

"Ride Along" pushed Cube's total domestic box office gross past $1 billion, a figure that includes the "Barbershop" movies, the "Friday" franchise, Singleton's "Higher Learning" and his 1991 debut "Boyz 'N the Hood."

Ice Cube Does A Mean Kevin Hart Impression: Watch Now!

In a much shorter time period, Chris Pine has participated in more than $900 million worth of movies. More than half of that figure is due to the successful relaunch of the "Star Trek" series. Over the weekend, Pine was much less successful in breathing new life into Jack Ryan, late author Tom Clancy's fictional spy previously portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck. At $18 million, "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" had the lowest debut of all five Jack Ryan movies.

The holiday weekend was even worse for "Devil's Due," another supernatural-themed found-footage horror ...

Six Things We Learned From Kanye West’s Interview Interview

Fame can be like floating in cold, empty space. At least according to Kanye West, who described his family's life as a kind of trip to the stars in an interview with "12 Years a Slave" director Steve McQueen in Interview magazine.

In the wide-ranging story, in which Yeezus also vented once more about his Grammy snubs, he also finally explained the controversial look of his "Bound 2" video and clarified that his so-called onstage "meltdowns" are actually "turn-ups."

"You know, becoming famous is like being catapulted into space, sometimes without a space suit," Kanye said of his budding family's existence. "We've seen so many people combust, suffocate, get lost in all these different things ... But to have an anchor of other astronauts and to make a little space family ... I wanted a family. So God gives you opportunities, and you make sacrifices for something that's greater."

With baby North just turning nine months old, 'Ye said it was too early to say yet how he feels about being a dad, but give him some time. "I think I have to experience it for another few years to be able to give you an opinion," he said. "It's all brand new, how it feels to be a father. There are some things that I understand, certain things that I don't understand, certain things that I like to get off my chest in interviews, certain things that I want to talk about. But when we talk about love, I don't have an answer. All I can say is that ...

‘Agent Carter’: Can Marvel Bring Captain America To Television?

It's official: Marvel believes in

Last week, ABC confirmed plans to pursue an "Agent Carter" TV series, spinning out of the "Agent Carter" One-Shot included on the "Iron Man 3" Blu-ray last year. Hayley Atwell originated the role of Peggy Carter, secret agent and Captain America's former flame. It's expected she'll continue the role when "Agent Carter" rolls out, presumably sometime in the fall.

Beyond Peggy's central role, however, little to nothing is known about the story of "Agent Carter" — which means there's plenty of time to get our casting wish-list out into the world! Here are seven Marvel heroes (well, six heroes and one villain) we want to see alongside Peggy on "Agent Carter."

Captain America
Let's start with the big gun, shall we? Unlike "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," an "Agent Carter" TV series stars a character with a very strong and very direct connection to one of the Marvel movie heroes. Without Steve Rogers, we wouldn't have met Peggy Carter. It's hard to imagine "Agent Carter" existing without a Captain America cameo and flashback here and there, given how much time is covered over the course of "The First Avenger." Evans is an understandably expensive and busy man, but hopefully not too expensive and busy to log a few guest appearances here and there.

Dum Dum Dugan
And the rest of the Howling Commandos while we're at it, but Dum Dum's number one. Neal McDonough is too great of an actor, and Dum Dum too great of a character, to waste on just one brief Marvel movie appearance. Bring McDonough ...

How Marvel Can Battle Batman/Superman

Batman and Superman are often considered the World's Finest superheroes, but right now, they're also a little tardy.

Late last week, Warner Bros. announced the surprising decision to move Zack Snyder's untitled "Man of Steel" sequel from its original July 2015 release date, to nine months later on May 6, 2016. It's a notable move for a few reasons, not the least of which being the complete absence of DC Entertainment movies on the calendar until at least 2016. The other big reason: DC is going directly against Marvel Studios, which also has an unannounced picture scheduled for May 6, 2016.

With Warner Bros. positioning Batman and Superman as gladiators against Marvel Studios' second scheduled Phase Three film, it's worth asking the question: Which movie should Marvel slot for May 6, 2016? Does the house that Iron Man built have a trick up its sleeve powerful enough to topple the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader? We think it's certainly possible — and here are some of the films that could do the trick.

"Iron Man 4"
It's highly unlikely we'll see a standalone Shellhead movie before "The Avengers 3," since Robert Downey Jr. is currently only signed for the next two "Avengers" films and nothing more. But if Marvel wants to compete against Batman and Superman, there are few surer bets than the Armored Avenger.

"Captain America" and "Thor" Sequels
Two's a party, and three's an even bigger party, at least where movies are concerned. Trilogies are all the rage in Hollywood, and with just one more film to go in each ...

Beyonce And Jay Z To Perform At 2014 Grammy Awards?

[Insert "bow down" joke here] because Beyoncé and Jay Z are bringing the royal family to the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Sources told US Weekly that the couple are indeed performing together at Sunday's ceremony after it was rumored earlier in the week. AllHipHop.com cited a CBS commercial that quietly spilled the beans on Sunday night. The commercial has since been removed from YouTube.

The talk for the past few days had been that Madonna would take the stage with Queen Bey. Although Madonna may come show— she's said to lend her vocals as a guest — we're not sure who she will join now.

The speculation now comes down to what song the couple will perform together. Their "Part II (On The Run)" is up for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the awards. They have previously duetted on songs like "Crazy In Love," "03 Bonnie and Clyde," and most recently, "Drunk in Love" off Bey's surprise album. However, with the Grammys being a dry event, "Drunk" might be a hard to pull off, but then again, that rule didn't stop Jay from sippin' D'USSE at last year's show ["if I do say so myself, if I do say so myself"].

As for Blue Ivy's appearance? We're not sure if the tot will make it to the show. She's too busy hanging out with President Obama's dog Bo.

The 2014 Grammys are on January 26 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Other performers include Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Sara Bareilles and Carole King, John Legend, Macklemore & ...
