Miley Cyrus Thinks Matt Lauer Doesn’t Have Sex… And Other Juicy ‘Today’ Snippets

She can’t stop! Miley Cyrus sat down with the “Today” show on Monday (October 7), one day before she releases her album, Bangerz. On the show, she opened up about her career, including her recent feud with Sinead O’Connor, her “dream” gig hosting “Saturday Night Live” and what’s next for her.

In between her performances — a Nintendo/Mario Bros.-themed performance of “We Can’t Stop” and an emotional take on “Wrecking Ball” — Cyrus sat down with Matt Lauer, breaking down some of the current headlines about her.

Missed it? Well, MTV News has some of her best moments from her “Today” show interview.

Attention Seeker!
Miley knows you’re talking about her. And she’s just fine with that. Why? Well, she’s got a new record out. She said, “It’s kind of what I want. l’m an artist, so I’m hoping I get a little attention, otherwise my record sales might be a little sketch.”

Though she noted that when it came to that VMAs performance, “I don’t ever really plan to offend people but sometimes that happens because I think people, they’re not open to what they don’t understand. That’s why what I’m doing is for my fans.”

She’s All Good
Miley’s been pretty transparent — especially with her recent MTV documentary, “Miley: The Movement.” If people want to know more about her, they can listen to Bangerz, Cyrus said.

“I don’t really worry about anything because I know who I am and I know that I’m an artist,” Miley explained. “And I know that I put all this time and this effort into my record, and my record is proof of really who I am. For me, the most important thing is being a really good person, and that doesn’t depend on what you do onstage. That depends on how you treat people when you’re offstage, and I know how I treat people, so I’m not really too worried about it.”

Settling Down…Maybe?
When Lauer wondered when she planned on toning down her sexual image (which included her naked ), the quick-on-her-feet Cyrus had a timeline for him in mind. “Well I heard when you turn 40 things start to turn a little less sexual; so probably around 40, around that time I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore, so probably around then,” she teased. And when Lauer told her he is 55, she quipped, “55! Oh, well then you’re really definitely not sexual.”

No Regrets
In the end, Miley is pretty happy being Miley. She told Lauer, “I can’t change anything. I can’t go back, so I can do a lot of things but I can’t change the past. Anything I can’t control, I don’t think about. I just live my life the way it is and I don’t regret anything.”

What’s Next?
With her album out Tuesday, Miley is already looking forward to what’s next. That includes hitting the road in 2014.

“I’m focused on when I get to go on tour, which is gonna be next year [and] which I’m really excited about,” she said. “My plan is focusing on right now and continuing what I’m doing,” she said. “I’m the happiest I’ve been in my whole life.”
