Master P is going to cover the funeral expenses for Ray Etheridge, a 12-year-old boy who was murdered in Lousiville this week. Etheridge was homeless and living in Louisville, Kentucky, with the rest of his family when he was murdered on October 2.

According to WLKY Percy “Master P” Miller offered to foot the bill, perhaps because he lost his own brother to violence over twenty years ago and empathized with the family’s situation.

The entire Etheridge family is homeless and generally spend their time at a local mall, but this past Thursday Ray wandered off on his own. The 7th grader was caught on tape hanging out at a library with another homeless man, 21-year-old Joseph Cambron, just before the incident. Around 4:30 p.m. his body was found by a runner in a local park, and later that day the police arrested Cambron for his murder.

“I don’t know who this guy is,” the boy’s father, Ronald Etheridge, said. “Being 21 years old and my son being 12, he had no business to even be around my son.”

Homicide Unit Lt. Todd Kessinger. said the victim and Cambron knew one another and that they were involved in a fight before Cambron stabbed Etheridge.

“We were able to put some information together, they did know each other from that area for a few weeks,” Kessinger said.

Between them, Diplo and Waka Flocka have left an indelible mark on a generation’s approach to partying.

Diplo’s involved himself in almost every underground dance music movement of the last decade, opening up America’s ears to cumbia, reggaeton, dancehall, and most recently, the squeaky synths of dutch house and EDM trap. Mad Decent block parties have become epicenters of consumption and concentrated excess.

Flocka, meanwhile, embodies pure hedonism. “Hard In The Paint” and “Grove St. Party” diluted rap’s id into sheer party-hearty aggression; soon enough Flocka switched over into full-on EDM. The festival trap scene hasn’t been the same since.

Now they’ve teamed up for a new video, co-produced by LNY TNZ and Yellow Claw. With these names you’d expect nothing less than full-fledged molly-snorting, champagne snorting trap-stravagazna, right?

Wrong. Well, kind of.

The video for “Techno” does involve drugs. Ecstasy, specifically. This isn’t the kind of slow-motion, neon-saturated abstraction we’ve come to expect from EDM videos,though. Rather, it’s an arresting narrative shot in muted tones, with distinctly non-model actors.

It tell the story of a working class father who, in an obvious homage to “Breaking Bad” and Walter White, starts selling ecstasy pills in order to give his daughter a better life and a college education.

He bankrolls a few young, edgy types, who concoct pills in a warehouse laboratory. The drugs make their way into a rave, which his daughter happens to attend. Tragedy strikes.

The war between smartphone manufacturers continues. After consumers complained that Apple’s new iPhone 6 Plus has a tendency to bend when kept in a pocket for a long time, Samsung tested out the Galaxy Note 4 — on a robot butt wearing jeans.

A new Samsung ad shows a series of pressure tests on the Galaxy Note 4, a phone that’s even bigger than the biggest iPhone ever released. The most ridiculous test apparently simulates a 220-pound man sitting directly on the phone a hundred times in a row. According to Samsung, the Galaxy survived the robot butt challenge just fine.

Apple has a history of suing competitors like Samsung over similarities between products, so maybe they deserve the subtle mockery by way of robot booty. Either way, it brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “apple bottom jeans.”

Nicki Minaj has been having a cover star kind of year. And even if her latest photo shoot didn’t grace the front of L’Uomo Vogue, it is still absolutely stunning.

Nicki graced the men’s version of Vogue Italia with a black and white photo spread. The phenomenal shoot was done by Francesco Carrozzini, a photographer and filmmaker who also worked on the music video for Beyonce’s “Jealous” off the singer’s self-titled 2013 album.

For this photo shoot, Nicki rocks a brand new bob with a swath of symmetrical diamond bangs that dip down her forehead in a completely unusual way. She also sports men’s clothes in the spread, including tight fitting slacks, an unbuttoned dress shirt and tie.

…grinding is now public enemy number one.

Moline High School in western Illinois has taken a stand against the “bootydancing” (Urban Dictionary’s oh-so-clever word, not ours), imposing a “no grinding” policy at this year’s homecoming dance.

The school sent a letter home to parents saying they deem grinding “offensive and inappropriate,” and want their students to act more tame on the dance floor. Several other schools in the area have a similar rule in place.

As you can probably imagine, some students were less than thrilled about this infliction on their plans to get down and drrty. And since telling people they can’t do something usually just makes them want to do it more, they decided to take matters into their own hands.

The riled-up rebel teens planned to boycott the dance by throwing their own “anti-homecoming” shindig at the Moline Club, a special events space that’s only a couple miles away from the high school. According to students at the school, most people were planning on attending that party than the official dance itself.

Moline’s homecoming festivities took place last night (October 3), so we’ll be waiting eagerly to find out how all the action went down…or how it grinded to a halt.

She might not be known as a sports expert yet, but Katy Perry made a convincing guest picker on ESPN’s “College GameDay” show earlier today (October 4). The “Roar” singer gave her hilarious picks for upcoming college football games alongside seasoned sports broadcasters.

Wearing a fuzzy pink sports jersey and bright red and black hair, Perry wasn’t shy about picking her teams based on which ones had the cutest players. When asked whether she’d pick TCU or Oklahoma, she chose Oklahoma, saying, “I’m picking this one based one on… looks. Trevor Knight, do you hear me?”

The singer pulled a few more gags before her screen time was up, including ripping a mascot’s head off and throwing corn dogs at the camera.

Lorde has been having a great time in California. Last night (October 3), the New Zealand singer posted pictures of an amazing piece of fan art painted by a boy named Fabian from Berkeley.

Ella Yelich-O’Connor, the 17-year-old pop star who dominated the charts last year with her single “Royals,” shared photos of the painting with her fans on Twitter a day after her concert at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre. She even took a few selfies next to the work of art — and the likeness is pretty uncanny!

The teen star will continue her North American tour with three more dates in California before she plays one last show at Austin City Limits on October 12. She also took the time to thank all her fans that make gifts for her:

It’s been a year of change for G-Unit, so it’s only right they release the music video for “Changes” off their new EP The Beauty Of Independence.

The 50 Cent-directed video, which was released today (October 4), also shows off a change in style for the G-Unit emcees. A dapper Unit trades hats and t-shirts for suits and ties, reflecting on the changes they’ve experienced. But watching all the money-counting and lounging poolside next to bikini-clad models definitely feels familiar.

If you’re waiting on new music from the group like we are, you shouldn’t worry. Beyond releasing videos, the Unit is also planning to release a new project, The Beast Is G-Unit soon. That’s if you ask Tony Yayo.

“The Beast is coming soon,” Yayo said in a Shade 45 interview recently.” “It’ll be coming probably like end of November, early December. It’s an EP, man. Six records. This one will have a bonus [song] on there. We gon’ give you something extra.”

Extra music is always great and Young Buck says there’s even more coming before The Beast is released.

“I think the EP is doing so well that we’re gonna release two bonus tracks of this EP that’s out now and give the fans an extra couple records and then release, like Yayo said, The Beast sometime around November.”

Have you ever gone on Facebook or Twitter and seen the same friend post a seemingly endless stream of updates? That kind of constant over-sharing can be annoying and obnoxious, but it may also be a sign of something much deeper.

According to human behavior expert Eric Barker, emotionally unstable people post on social media more often, seeking a supportive environment that will help control their feelings.

Psychologists actually encourage the behavior because they say people are more likely to share their emotions online, and the potential for empathy gives their well-being a much-needed boost.

The one downside to using Facebook as a pseudo therapist’s office, though, is that it can damage people’s self-esteem by showing them what they’ll never have.

Most people’s profiles aren’t actually an accurate depiction of their real lives — we use Facebook as more of a highlight reel that shows the good, brag-worthy stuff and leaves out the bad. These seemingly unattainable lives may make emotionally unstable people feel worse by comparison, making Facebook a self-esteem buzzkill.

Nevertheless, experts seem to agree that emotionally unstable people are flocking to social media — and that’s ultimately a good thing. That isn’t to say every friend or follower you have who can’t go two minutes without telling the world their every thought is emotionally out of whack.

But the next time you notice a friend posting a stream of sensitive updates, consider the possibility that they may actually need ...
