How did Ed Sheeran celebrate his 2014 MTV Video Music Awards win for Best Male Video? By pouring a bucket of ice-cold water over Courteney Cox’s head, duh.

OK, so the “Cougar Town” actress was actually taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (I know, I had never heard of it either) after being nominated by former “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston on August 24. Speaking of nominations, Cox chose actress Isla Fisher and Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody and Johnny McDaid, which makes sense seeing as how McDaid is her fiancé.

Selecting Ed, who took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on August 18, as her ice-bucket wingman makes sense, too — despite how random it seems. The “Sing” crooner was actually the one who hooked Courteney up with Johnny in the first place, and he’s apparently spent many a night crashing at the actress’ California beach house.

So, the Courteney-Ed connection all makes sense now, right? Nope, still random. Dump that ice bucket!

With the disastrous Echosmith concert and Palos Hills High School’s senior ski trip considered, it’s safe to say road trips are not Jenna Hamilton‘s thing. But the actresses behind the blogger’s mom and guidance counselor have proven they can definitely get away in style.

Nikki Deloach and Desi Lydic, whose “Awkward” characters are known in tandem as VaLacey, traveled to Sin City for a friend’s bachelorette party this weekend. And even though Desi wound up in the laps of three Thunder Down Under performers once the ladies finally reached their destination (that minx!), it looks like the occasion’s highlights came during the journey to Vegas.

There’s no doubt that Jennifer Lopez broke barriers with her iconic backside. Jenny from the block was representing for big-booty girls since the late 1990s, back before it really became a thing in the media, and she proves that she’s still down for the derriere with her new “Booty” remix.

The original track appeared on J.Lo’s recently released album, A.K.A., and featured culo connoisseur Pitbull. But for the remix released on Tuesday (August 26), La Lopez traded Mr. Worldwide for Iggy Azalea. And why wouldn’t she? Lopez teased the song when she introduced Iggy and Rita Ora’s “Black Widow” performance at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Jennifer’s portion of the song remains unchanged; she sings seductively, boasting about her sexy rump. “It’s his birthday, give him what he asked for,” she instructs.

Then by the time Iggy brings up the rear (pun intended), the remix works up a full sweat. “The last time the world seen a booty this good it was on Jenny from the block,” she raps, praising Lopez and herself at the same time.

Well done, ladies.

“Showrunner.”

You’ve probably heard the word before, and given the context can even guess what it means. But unless you’re entrenched in the television industry, it’s a word that’s spread to the mainstream without a lot of understanding of what it is, exactly, a Showrunner does.

Luckily, there’s a new documentary aptly titled “Showrunners” which takes a look at the rise of the job position in prominence, including in depth interviews with some of the biggest names around: Joss Whedon (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer”); Damon Lindelof (“Lost”); Ronald D. Moore (“Battlestar Galactica”); and many, many more.

To accompany the documentary, Titan Books is releasing a companion volume that also works nearly as an oral history, letting showrunners explain what they do in their own words. Nick Jonas had quite the night at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and I’m not just referring to the award-worthy selfie he took with Demi Lovato and his girlfriend, Olivia Culpo. The onetime member of the Jonas Brothers also got to meet Lorde, at whom he later tweeted his congratulations for her Best Rock Video VMA win.

The “Royals” singer took this opportunity to flex her comedy muscles, but I feel like she probably should have warmed up with some comedy bench-presses first. Or maybe some comedy squats. Like, even just a leisurely 0.5-mph spin on the reclining bike with the TV hookup. #NoJudgmentZone

Amber Portwood‘s tell-all tome “Never Too Late” leaves no stone unturned about her past — including what really happened during “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom,” her struggles with drug addiction and her 17-month stay behind bars.

In an interview with MTV News, the 24-year-old opens up about the memoir — which is on sale today via Amazon — and reveals why she decided to recount her troubling experiences.

“I had been thinking about writing a book since my stay in prison,” Amber says. “I felt it was time when I got out to actually do it. I think my book is able to give strength and determination to those who are struggling.”

And while it was a challenge for Amber to pen the sometimes-brutal details, the young mom says it was an important step in making a personal connection with fans — and hopefully provide encouragement to them.

“I want people to read my book with an open mind,” she says. “I also hope my story can reach and help many people.”

Her book already has one very enthusiastic cheerleader: her five-year-old daughter Leah.

“She thinks it’s neat,” Amber gushes about her mini-me. “She said, ‘I’m in a story like the books I read!’ She’s adorable.”

Hemp festivals seem like pretty chill events, right? Gathering a bunch of people to celebrate marijuana doesn’t exactly scream “chaos.” That is, except when a naked, scary, wild-haired dude decides to wreak havoc by unleashing his inner Tarzan. Then, all hell breaks loose.

During a three-day hemp fest in southern Oregon, 27-year-old Timothy Seaux was arrested after beating on cars and getting into fights. Police arrived on the scene to find four people pinning the “naked and combative” man to the ground.

They were finally able to restrain him and take him into custody, but not before he reportedly kicked an officer several times and kicked the back of the patrol car repeatedly. Seaux was so out of control that medical personnel were called on to the scene to sedate him before high-tailing it out of there.

On top of his charges for first-degree criminal mischief and menacing, Seaux’s wild antics also earned him charges for assaulting a public safety officer and resisting arrest. Next time, someone might want to tell him that violent rampages at hemp festivals can probably be avoided by the very thing you’re there to promote. We’re just saying.
