Need To Know: Bryan Cranston Dedicated His Emmy To ‘Sneaky Pete.’ Who Is He?

by 20 mins ago

With additional reporting by Janelle Myers

His Last Emmy For ‘Breaking Bad’
When “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston accepted the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, he dedicated his award to “all the Sneaky Petes in the world.” Earlier in his speech, he revealed that his family gave him that nickname because until he started acting, he always schemed and looked for the easy way out. He advised us not to settle for the mediocre and said, “Take a chance. Take a risk. Find that passion. Rekindle it. Fall in love all over again. It’s really worth it.”

Emmy Winners
It was a big night for “Breaking Bad,” which won Best Drama Series in the last Emmy Awards show it could contend for. Other huge winners include “Modern Family” for Outstanding Comedy Series, “Orange Is The New Black”s Uzo Aduba for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series and “Sherlock: His Last Vow”s Benedict Cumberbatch for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie. Here’s a complete list of the winners.

Billy Crystal Remembered Robin Williams
“It’s very hard to talk about him in the past, because he was so present in all of our lives,” Billy Crystal said as he gave a moving tribute to his late friend Robin Williams at the Emmy Awards.

Rapper Young Jeezy was reportedly arrested after an assault rifle, which was linked to a backstage shooting during a tour stop in California, was found ...

Sorry Heidi Klum, Here’s How You Twerk

by 29 mins ago

The thing about supermodels is, they’re used to doing everything right. Outrageously beautiful? Check. Thin and perfectly aligned with societal expectations regarding appearance? Check. Even when they do mess up, we usually kindly overlook their errors because people like Heidi Klum are just so. dang. hot.

But, this time, we’re gonna have to take a minute to let you know: Heidi, this is not a twerk. It’s just not.

I mean, this year’s VMAs were practically an ode to butts, and twerking has been front and center in cultural consciousness since Miley took to the VMA stage last year to show off her own booty-shaking technique. Given these circumstances, we must present to you dear Heidi, a few proper examples of twerking.

Nicki Minaj knows how.

nicki-buttpop1

But like, she really knows.

Beyonce knows how.

We’ve all seen Miley do it…

And for a more authentic, original twerk, here’s the Queen of Bounce herself, Big Freedia breaking twerking records.

So in conclusion, Heidi, sorry girl, that was not twerking. You’re still beautiful though! K?? Kisses, love you, bye!

Watch 50 Cent And G-Unit Talk The Beauty Of Their Reunion

by 18 mins ago

G-Unit is officially back. On Monday (August 25), 50 Cent and his maniacal band of MCs dropped The Beauty of Independence, a brand new six-song EP to cement the comeback which they put into play at the beginning of the summer.

To celebrate, Fif, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Young Buck and newcomer Kidd Kidd gave a special radio interview to Shade45 on SiriusXM and also spoke to MTV News about their reunion.

“I always felt like we would be back together and doing music. That was the most important part to me,” Banks told us. “All the other things that helped break sh– up, I didn’t participate in.”

Fif has been putting his G-Unit crew in the forefront since his storied mixtape run in the early 2000s. Even before 50 dropped his diamond-selling debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’ in 2003 fans were well acquainted with Banks, Buck and Yayo.

G-Unit were amongst the most successful rap groups in the early aughts, but around the time the group released their sophomore LP T.O.S. in 2008, things began to go sour. 50 and Banks stopped seeing eye-to-eye, and Bucks also found himself at odds with the G-Unit CEO. Yayo would go on to voice his displeasure about the crew’s lack of unity.

Despite six years of turmoil, the squad was able to put their differences aside to perform at Hot 97′s annual Summer Jam concert on June 1. Two days later 50 dropped his first ...

Robin Williams’ Old Friend Billy Crystal Delivers Heartbreaking Emmys Tribute

by 1 min ago

The memory of comedian Robin Williams, whose death shocked world earlier this month, loomed large over the annual fete honoring the best and brightest and most beloved in television, the Emmys.

At the awards ceremony Monday night (August 25), a special segment was set aside after the traditional In Memoriam montage, detailing the greats of the medium who passed since last year’s ceremony, for fellow comedian Billy Crystal to share a tribute to Williams.

As a giant photograph of Williams lit up an otherwise darkened stage, Crystal (whose friendship with his Comic Relief co-host spanned more than three decades) described Williams’ infective energy.

“I mean, the brilliance was astounding,” Crystal said. “The relentless energy was kind of … thrilling. I used to think if I could just put a saddle on him and stay on for eight seconds, I was going to do okay.”

He told of Williams coming to family gatherings and casual get-togethers, places out of the public eye where performers always have to be on. He was as funny off-stage as off, Crystal remembered. “He could be funny anywhere.”

Crystal’s speech was followed by a compilation of several late night appearances and stand up clips from Williams, ending with the image of the comedian waving while walking off-stage.

The full text of Crystal’s tribute is below.

Watch This 12-Year-Old Flawlessly Recreate Every 2014 VMA Performance

by 29 mins ago

I know everyone is still reeling from the sheer enormity of talent that was on display at the VMAs yesterday, but while you’re trying to process all that, why not watch another extremely talented kid give the super stars a run for their money?

Sure, he may not have Usher’s explosive set or Taylor Swift‘s fashion game, but 12-year-old Johnny Constantino is an aspiring singer and boy can we see why! He’s got some serious vocal chops and is currently in choir, learning guitar, and in the past he’s sung with the New York State School Music Association. So no wonder these Instagram videos recreating key moments from the VMAs are so great! Let’s take a listen, shall we?

First he “Breaks Free”:

Not as many sparkles, but yes, he can hit those Ariana high notes!

Johnny’s take on “Anaconda”:

A.K.A. channeling the mean girls from the Sir Mix-A-Lot sample of “Baby Got Back.”

And he nails the chorus of “Bang Bang”:

Excuse me?? Is that Jessie J herself???

Here’s him doing Taylor Swift’s new single “Shake It Off”:

Johnny’s version is a little more melodic and down-played -— there’s no silver sparkles and men in ties. But it still sounds pitch-perfect!

“Stay With Me” gets the treatment:

Okay so no one can come close to Sam Smith, but I think I just figured out which VMA performer Johnny reminds me of the most…

Here’s him doing Usher‘s “She Came To Give It To You”:

Seriously, someone get him an all-white get-up ...

Kiernan Shipka, Allison Williams, And More Are Best Dressed At 2014 Emmys

by 1 min ago

It’s not often we get two killer red carpets twice in one week, let alone TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW, but that’s what’s happening right this very minute. (Best week ever? Best week ever.) On the heels of the 2014 Video Music Awards, which we’re all frankly still recovering from both from sheer slayage and also lack of sleep, comes the Emmys.

There was very little overlap, neither in crowd nor in yardage of fabric. Only two crop tops made appearances tonight (on the Modern Family girls, those minxes). Twenty-four hours ago, most girls just completely forwent bottoms. Take a scroll through the best dressed to see what I mean.

KIERNAN SHIPKA IN ANTONIO BERARDI

Kiernan ShipkaGetty Images

At this point, it’s redundant to mention that Kiernan is so stylish at suuuuch a young age because girl’s been killing the red carpet game since she was 12. And that’s not being hyperbolic, that’s just the straight-up truth. But yeah, tonight’s incredible gray gown with a sequin waist unlike anything I’ve ever laid eyes on is no exception. Also: THOSE SHOES.

SARAH HYLAND IN CHRISTIAN SIRIANO

Sarah HylandGetty Images

There were very few crop tops at the Emmys. Like, suuuuure, there could have been some on seat fillers in the rafters, but as far as red carpet appearances go, Sarah (and her small screen little sis!) were it. Good thing, because ...

Check Out All The Best VMA Nails (Including Rita Ora’s $56K Mani!)

by 11 mins ago

By now you’ve probably seen the best dressed ladies on the VMA red carpet, but did y’all peep those on-point nails? If you weren’t able to see the celebs IRL (or don’t have insane zooming capabilities), we’re here to help. We rounded up the best nails below just for you guys—’cause we’re cool like that.

NICKI MINAJ

Nicki Minaj NailsGetty Images/Instagram

Nicki Instagrammed her killer 3D digits (twice!) a few days ago, and dang, we can totally see why. She loaded up on the studs, gems, and iridescent glitter for a nail look that was sure to stand out with all 5 of her outfit changes.

RITA ORA

Rita Ora NailsGetty Images

We already saw a preview of Rita’s “Black Widow”-themed manicure yesterday, but dang–girl forget mention that it cost $56,000 to put that nail art together! Rita used AZATURE Black Diamond nail polish paired with hand-crafted diamond spiders and ruby bows for THE most killer (heh) look of the night.

SARAH HYLAND

Sarah Hyland NailsGetty Images

Sarah went for a single stripe of gold across nude nails for a simple-yet-dressy look we could totally sport on the daily.

BEYONCE

Beyonce NailsGetty Images

If you can tear your eyes away from those rings, Bey’s nails are just as amazing. She swiped silver metallic polish on stiletto tips with an accent charm on the ring finger.

Billy Eichner Gives Voice To Your TV Nerd Pain With ‘Emmy On The Street’

by 1 min ago

After watching this video we’ve got one thing to proclaim: “Billy Eichner For Emmy Awards Host 2015!”

In the middle of the 2014 Emmy Awards, we were given this beautiful gift: a mini episode of “Billy On The Street,” Emmy Edition. And, well? He said the things we were all thinking (Tatiana Maslany was snubbed, y’all!) and harassed with the fervency of any good television obsessive.

Thankfully you can relive the magic again — in its full-fledged, extended edition glory! — and see just how few people in New York actually give a crap about famous people who live inside their TVs.

I’ll say it again: BILLY EICHNER FOR EMMY AWARDS HOST 2015!

Too much exuberance for one person. Follow her on Twitter @alicialutes.
