VMA Cheerleader Britney Spears Applauds Miley’s Fight Against Homelessness

by 2 mins ago

Meet Miss Britney Spears, unofficial cheerleader for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. First, Brit showed her appreciation for Katy Perry’s all-denim dress homage, now she’s throwing shine Miley Cyrus’ way for her charitable acceptance speech. Someone dig up this lady’s pom-poms — they’re probably still in the attic somewhere.

Spears took to Twitter Monday to show her support for Miley’s new endeavor with the below tweet:

If you’ve been dozing under a stone since Sunday, when Miley won the Video of the Year award for “Wrecking Ball,” instead of accepting the award herself, she sent a formerly homeless man named Jesse to take the trophy from Jimmy Fallon — and promote Miley’s new effort to raise money for an L.A. homeless shelter.

Miley, for her part, cried silently in the audience, a show of emotion and support that made Miss Spears clap with glee. At least via emoji. Relive the moment below — or just re-watch the whole show here.

Seth Meyers Levels Up Ice Bucket Challenge By Doing It On The Emmys Stage In A Tux

by 11 mins ago

OK, there have been so many ALS Ice Bucket Challenges already, and there are many more still in our future, but you have to admit that Seth Meyers’ iteration is pretty baller.

Meyers hosted last night’s Emmy Awards, and immediately after wrapping up the show, decided to cross the Bucket Challenge off his personal bucket list.

His “Late Night” show team caught the action on Instagram.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be an Ice Bucket Challenge without extending the dare to others (them’s the rules), and Meyers is nothing if not a rule-abiding citizen, so of course he chose the best person ever to challenge. Who could it be? Spoiler alert: It’s Vladimir Putin. Sorry, couldn’t wait for you to find out on your own.

Watch Drake Give His VMA Acceptance Speech… One Day Late

by 12 mins ago

When Drake won his first MTV Video Music Award in 2012, he gave an unforgettable speech about being black and Jewish and then dedicated his award to all the kids who had to to take “a long walk home” by themselves.

We were so moved by the speech, we just couldn’t wait to hear what Drizzy would say after winning his second moonman in the Best Hip-Hop category on Sunday at the 2014 VMAs, but unfortunately he was out on tour and couldn’t make it to the Forum in Los Angeles.

Still, Aubrey made up for his absence on Monday night at the Mansfield, Massachusetts stop on his Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour. “First of all, uh, I wanna thank God,” Drake told the crowd before thanking his mother and Weezy, for making his rap dreams come true.

Drake’s romantic sing-along “Hold On, We’re Going Home” won Best Hip-Hop Video, beating out more traditional rap songs like Kanye West’s “New Slaves” and Eminem’s “Berzerk,” and the nuance wasn’t lost on him.

“I know this is a hip-hop award, and I know a lot of you out there are frustrated, like, ‘This is not a hip-hop song.’ And you know what? You’re right — I tricked you all,” he joked. “Rappers, better luck next year. Thank you.”

7 People Who Will Probably Die On The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Fatal Finale

by 17 mins ago

It’s officially “FAtal Finale” Tuesday, Little Liars! By the time tonight (August 26) is through, Rosewood, Pennsylvania will be down one taxpaying citizen due to yet another A-related murder.

Now, many have speculated that the death could be one of our main Liars, but we personally don’t feel that the show is ready to lose Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, or Shay Mitchell at this time. Also, Ali just returned, so we’re going to — reluctantly — cross her off our list as well. And “Pretty Little Liars” has had a tendency to focus on killing parental units in the recent past, so we’re going to cross them off too, which helps in the whole narrowing down our options department.

So, who does that leave? Err, well, a lot of people. But here are some of our favorites:

1. Noel Kahn

Noel11ABC Family

He hangs out with shady people (Ali), gets involved in shady business (Ali’s business), and is important enough to have an emotional impact without really shaking things up too much. We hope it’s not Noel — we want someone bigger — but he’s high on our list due to his surprising reemergence as a major B-player this season, and it would definitely make sense for A to want to hurt Ali’s helper.

2. Jason DiLaurentis

originalABC Family

Jason DiLaurentis is always high up on any deathpool, simply by virtue of being Jason DiLaurentis. We don’t necessarily want him to go, because there’s still so much mystery ...

This Job Interview Will Make You Laugh (And Cringe)

by 1 min ago

There are times when you don’t need to keep talking. Some situations are just better when you say one thing, close your mouth and move on — an interview is one of those moments. But sometimes word vomit gets the best of us and we keep talking. There really is such a thing as Too Much Information, in this case.

Short shows, random weirdness.

Chloë Moretz Says Pirates Killed Her ‘Kick-Ass 3′ Hopes

by 1 min ago

If you’ve been holding out hopes of seeing Chloë Grace Moretz put on her purple wig for one more turn as Hit Girl, the following news will make you very sad, indeed. According to the actress, greedy masses of malignant torrenters have pretty much left the “Kick-Ass” franchise dead in the water.

As reported by Screenrant, Moretz told Digital Spy that the lack of a paying audience for “Kick-Ass 2″ meant that she and her fellow heroes would have to hang up their capes and move on.

“Sadly, I think I’m done with the character,” Moretz said. “Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don’t think there will be any more movies. You make these movies for the fanboys, but nowadays everyone seems to pirate them rather than watch them in the movie theatre.”

Of course, it’s worth noting that “Kick-Ass 2″ had bigger problems than piracy, not least the part where one of the film’s most recognizable stars (Jim Carrey) publicly denounced his involvement and refused to promote the movie — which is something to be considered before we all go chasing after our local fanboys with a meat cleaver while shrieking, “THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS!”

And despite Moretz’s regretful remarks about leaving Hit Girl behind, her own tastes are clearly running toward a wider variety of different and more adult roles. In addition to starring in two of the most-anticipated teen movies currently on the radar, she told Digital Spy ...

Weird Al’s Emmys Medley Featured The Best ‘Game Of Thrones’ Joke Ever: Watch

by 4 mins ago

Weird Al did the famous person’s equivalent of what we all do alone in our apartments Monday night when he added words to some of TV’s most well-known theme songs in an epic medley during The 2014 Emmy Awards.

From “Mad Men” to “Scandal” to “Game Of Thrones,” the Billboard-topping parody artist left no popular show unparodied — the best satire being “Game Of Thrones,” which featured Andy Samberg as King Joffrey and a very sporting cameo by George R.R. Martin, whom Al entreated, “Type, George! Type was fast as you can! We need more scripts!” Samberg then handed the famously meticulous writer a massive typewriter.

We second that assertion. Get that ribbon running, RR!

The Only Emmys Moment That Mattered Was Bryan Cranston Trying To Swallow Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Face

by 2 mins ago

The 2014 Emmy Awards went on for hours last night, but as far as the Internet is concerned, the entire ceremony began and ended with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ walk to the stage to claim her win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series — during which she was accosted and violently made out with by a passionate Bryan Cranston, who wanted to remind her once and for all that they totally kissed on “Seinfeld” back in the 1990s.

Fortunately, Jimmy Fallon stepped in and put a stop to the smooch before Julia’s entire head disappeared down Bryan Cranston’s throat, but only just before.

Cranston also took home his own Emmy for his work on “Breaking Bad,” but let’s be real, winning the award is definitely not the part of last night’s ceremony that he’s bragging about this morning.

How To Be The Best Third Wheel EVER

by 5 mins ago

There are certain situations in life that you just can’t avoid. You will have to pay taxes. You will get super fat after college. You will be a third wheel. It’s uncomfortable, but that’s just because you suck at being a third wheel. Here are tips to up your being-part-of-somebody-else’s-relationship game.

Let the other two wheels roll to you
There’s nothing wrong with being a third wheel. Couples like hanging out with people who aren’t them just as much as you like hanging out with people who aren’t your Xbox. Just make sure the time’s right by waiting for them to invite you to hang out. Going to a movie, a game or a concert can be a great night — but inviting yourself to their anniversary dinner might be a little tricky.

Don’t make them feel awkward
Even when you’ve been invited out, understand that they’re still on a date and there’s many, many ways you could f–k it up. If they’ve been on the rocks, don’t mention their arguments. If your friend has confided in you, don’t bring the secret up — or even allude to it with a smirk. If they’re snuggling romantically, maybe don’t tell that story about how you got diarrhea on the elliptical.

This is the best way to ensure that you don’t get “forgotten” next time they’re having a pool party. Also, probably don’t tell anybody that elliptical story — might be why you’re single.

Don’t ignore one of them
Sure, you’re naturally inclined to pay more attention to ...

This Little Girl Just Summed Up Beyonce’s Epic 2014 VMA Performance In 6 Glorious Seconds

by 9 mins ago

By now, you’ve probably watched Beyoncé’s 15-plus-minute VMA performance so many times it’s burned into your brain. If not, let this little girl’s ***flawless Vine break it down for you.

Although the video is only mere seconds long, somehow this child just captures Bey’s essence. Maybe it’s that amazing Queen Bey wig. Maybe it’s the spot-on sparkle leotard. (Seriously, where did she get that?) Maybe it’s the super-serious backup dancers leaning on this genius little girl’s makeshift laundry basket throne. Or… maybe it’s all those things combined. Just watch.
