Is A ‘Big Lebowski’ Sequel Happening After All?

by 18 mins ago

“Nobody f—s with The Jesus” — nobody, it seems, except John Turturro himself.

The actor responsible for bringing ball-licking bowler Jesus Quintana to life in “The Big Lebowski” is itching to reprise his role in an upcoming movie. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Turturro made it clear that he wants one more chance to play “The Jesus” in a “Big Lebowski” spinoff.

“If I can get the permission I need, I’d like to return to that role,” he said, with a new film possible for next year.

Of course, striking out with The Jesus is easier said than done. The character belongs to Joel and Ethan Coen, the masterminds behind “The Big Lebowski.” They’ve resisted the urge to return to the “Big Lebowski” well on multiple occasions, despite fans’ best wishes. If he can get the Coen Brothers’ permission, perhaps Turturro would direct a movie about The Jesus all on his own; in addition to acting, Turturro has made quite a name for himself recently behind the camera, with films like “Fading Gigolo” and a segment of “Rio, I Love You.”

Count us on board for a full-length “The Big The Jesus” movie, as long as it’s just two hours of this scene over and over again:

Do you want to see Turturro’s planned “Lebowski” spinoff?

Beyonce To Star In ‘Hancock 2′ With Will Smith?

by 1 min ago

Will Beyoncé star in “Hancock 2″ with Will Smith? According to Vibe, the singer will be taking the role of Carly Kicker in the follow-up to the 2008 film.

The magazine cites IMDb as the source of the info, but when MTV News checked back, it had since been deleted.

Bey, who kicks off a tour with husband Jay Z on Wednesday (June 25) night, most recently showed off her acting skills in the trailer for the On The Run Tour. The trailer featured big names like Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Rashida and Kidada Jones.

Beyonc#&233′s latest acting credit was for 2013′s “Epic,” when she voiced Queen Tara. But don’t forget her surprise album, made up entirely of cinematic music videos.

Back in 2011, Bey was linked to Clint Eastwood’s “A Star is Born” remake, but had to back out. That film has yet to start production.

‘Survivor’ Contestant Caleb Bankston Killed In Railroad Accident

by 1 min ago

Caleb Bankston, a former contestant on the CBS reality series “Survivor,” has died. He was 26.

Bankston was an employee of the Alabama Warrior Railway in Birmingham, Alabama. He was killed on Tuesday (June 24) when the train he was working on derailed, according to People.com.

“Caleb was an amazing man and friend,” Bankston’s fellow contestant Aras Baskauskas told People in a statement. “One of the sweetest and most sincere humans I’ve ever come across. I am gutted by his loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Bankston appeared on 2013′s “Survivor: Blood Vs. Water,” the 27th edition of the revolutionary reality competition. The season featured ten returning players competing against ten of their loved ones. Bankston appeared alongside his fiancé and notorious “Survivor: One World” villain Colton Cumbie, who voluntarily withdrew from the season after seven stressful days on the island. The Alabama native was slated to marry Cumbie in October.

Following Cumbie’s self-imposed exit, Bankston continued to outwit, outplay and outlast his fellow “Survivor” competitors for several weeks, famously turning the tables on former ally and professional football player Brad Culpepper in one of the season’s most dramatic vote-outs. In the end, Bankston earned a respectable ninth-place finish, leaving the game on Day 30 of 39.

Bankston is the third “Survivor” player to have died since the show’s launch in 2001. “Survivor: Palau” contestant Jenn Lyon passed away in 2010 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Original “Survivor” player B.B. Andersen, the second contestant ever eliminated ...

Peeta Stands With The Capitol In Haunting ‘Hunger Games’ Teaser

by 34 mins ago

Unity, prosperity, and sacrifice: The three key ingredients to living well within the system of Panem, the fictional country at the heart of “The Hunger Games.”

But not everyone wants to live up to those ideals. Over the course of the two “Hunger Games” movies released thus far, not to mention the upcoming two-part “Mockingjay” finale, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has resisted the Capitol’s call for obedience. Soon, all-out war will be the consequence of her defiance — and we can now see one of the first casualties of that war.

As the “Mockingjay” marketing campaign ramps up, Lionsgate has rolled out a haunting new video featuring President Snow (Donald Sutherland) speaking directly to the people of Panem about what makes their society so great, and what makes it so dangerous.

“Ours is an elegant system conceived to nourish and protect,” he says, “but if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.”

To punctuate those points, President Snow is joined in the video by a familiar face: Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), the co-champion of the 74th annual Hunger Games — stoic, silent and stone-cold as he wordlessly stands by Snow during the speech. It’s a skin-crawling, bone-chilling look at the escalated stakes Katniss faces as this story rushes to its conclusion.

“Mockingjay — Part 1″ opens on November 21.

Tanks A Lot: Watch Brad Pitt Ride In The First ‘Fury’ Trailer

by 37 mins ago

“Just wait until you see it — what a man can do to another man.”

Shia LaBeouf’s words of wisdom are quiet and cutting, reserved until the very end of the first trailer for “Fury,” director David Ayer’s upcoming World War II thriller. It centers on Wardaddy (Brad Pitt), the leader of a five-man crew operating a Sherman tank called “the Fury.” Wardaddy has been fighting alongside his fellow soldiers for years, having started the war killing Germans in Africa.

“Now I’m killing Germans in Germany,” he tells a rookie played by Logan Lerman, the newest addition to the tank squad. For his part, Lerman’s doe-eyed assistant driver hasn’t ever even seen the inside of a tank before.

“You will,” Wardaddy promises.

The trailer gets down in the mud to focus on the nitty, gritty and dirty sides of war, with strong actors like Jon Bernthal (“The Walking Dead”) and Michael Peña (“End of Watch”) along for the ride. The only thing that stands between the American forces and success in Germany is a 300-strong squad of Nazis — and the five tank operators are the only soldiers who can take them down.

Watch the full “Fury” trailer over at Apple.

“Fury” hits theaters on November 14.

Demi Lovato Reveals Grandfather Was Gay: Watch Her Touching Tribute

by 38 mins ago

Demi Lovato and the LGBT community have always been rather close. The “Heart Attack” singer was the Grand Marshall at Los Angeles’ Pride Parade earlier this month. She’ll be performing at New York’s Pride this weekend.

And as she revealed at Logo TV’s inaugural “Trailblazers” special (airing this Thursday at 9pm), one of her family members was also a trailblazer in the LGBT community.

When speaking at the event, which coincides with the one-year anniversary of the defeat of DOMA — Demi shared something she’s never shared before.

“I’ve never spoken about this before, but my grandfather himself was a trailblazer. He was brave enough to come out in the 1960s, and I feel a lot of my spirit has come from him,” she said. “He passed away a few years later and I only wish he could have been able to see all the progress that has been made.”

Demi is hardly the only big-name celebrity who was there for the “Trailblazers” special. Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Levine, Nate Ruess, Lance Bass, Joe Manganiello, the cast of Orange Is The New Black and Sia were all in the house to honor leaders in the LGBT community.

And you can watch it all on Logo TV, this Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

Demi Lovato’s ‘Really Don’t Care’ Video Is Gonna Be A Party: See The Teaser

by 7 hours ago

Demi Lovato is just two days away from revealing her “Really Don’t Care” music video, and in a new teaser, she tells her Lovatics to get ready for a “celebration.”

In a previous teaser clip, Demetria cloaked fans in mystery with a short clip of her parade performance during Los Angeles’ Pride celebration in West Hollywood, where she served as grand marshall, and in a new clip on Tuesday (June 24), she tells us what made the parade the perfect setting for her new clip.

“Originally, [the song] started out as a break-up song. Then I realized I’m in such an awesome place that I didn’t really want it to have a negative message,” Demi says. “It’s awesome when you get to see thousands of people just being themselves, being who they are. I thought that was so fitting for this music video.”
