Hit-Boy And Audio Push Respond To G-Unit Remix Of ‘Grindin’ My Whole Life’

by 06/03/14

G-Unit created major waves on Monday night when they released “Nah I’m Talkin’ Bout,” their first collaboration in years. In addition to the novelty of hearing 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and Tony Yayo on a record together again, the inherent energy of the song and it’s beat played a part in the excitement, too.

That beat, produced by Hit-Boy, was originally used on “Grindin’ My Whole Life.” The song was included on Hit and his HS87 squad’s We The Plug, which dropped last week. But they weren’t even aware that Fif and the Unit were hopping on their joint.

“We really just seen that on the ride over to this office here,” Hit-Boy told MTV News on Monday, just hours before the song dropped. “50, it sounded like he was gassin’ it, so I’m excited. We really just appreciative to be in the game, man. We been working for a long time. ‘Grindin’ My Whole Life’ ain’t just a song. We really been trying to get to it for a long time, so for people to be taking notice is a blessing.”

Audio Push
, who are also in HS87 and on the original track, were similarly enthused. “50, he’s still a rapper; he’s still hip-hop,” said Price, one half of the duo. “If he hears somethin’ he like, he probably just rapping on it, you feel me. Which is hard.”

This won’t be the last remix from the 18-track project We The Plug, which showcases ...

It’s RoboCop Day In Detroit. Yes, Really

by 06/03/14

Dreams really can come true, folks, especially when those dreams involve an entire day devoted to RoboCop in a major metro area. (Dream big.)

Yes, today is Robocop Day in Detroit, thanks to a Kickstarter funding project (taglined “Part man, part machine, all crowd funded,” of course) to build a statue of the 1987 crime-fighting robohero in the city.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that today is also the DVD release date for the recent remake of “RoboCop,” either.

Detroit cops will be present and honored at the unveiling of the statue, after which fans will have a chance to take pictures with RoboCop, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Later tonight, RoboCop will throw out the first pitch at the Detroit Tigers-Toronto Blue Jays game at Comerica Park.

Let’s see if he can beat 50 Cent’s wild toss, shall we?

Stay out of trouble, everyone.

How Did “The Fault In Our Stars” Inspire This Nat & Alex Wolff Single? Listen

by 06/03/14

Nat Wolff is a huge fan of John Green’s “The Fault In Our Stars.” Not only does he co-star in the cinematic adaptation — and deserve some of the credit for making the movie manifest after sharing the book with director Josh Boone — he also wrote a song inspired by the YA classic.

Nat & Alex Wolff — previously The Naked Brothers Band — are out with that jam, “Last Station,” today, along with another single that they’ve exclusively shared with MTV News titled “Rules.”

So how did a tear-jearker of epic proportions make its way to the band’s guitar strings? Well, after finishing Green’s book — about a pair of teens who meet in a cancer support group — Nat was inspired, to say the least.

“I had the idea of coming to the end of something early,” he told MTV News. “You know, coming to the end of life but living, even if it makes it sadder to know that it’s over so early. I can’t pinpoint what exactly what it was about it, what gets me inspired by the book, but something about it inspired me.”

The result was “Last Station,” a clear-as-a-bell lost love song that Nat says is about “a combination of girls I went to high school with and grew up with.” With a mournful, singalong of a chorus — “Follow your train to its last station/ follow, follow, follow” — and a collection of verses like faded photos, this soft, folky song easily fits into the ...

Kendall And Kylie Jenner Sum Up Kim And Kanye’s Wedding In One Word

by 06/03/14

There’s only one word to describe Kim and Kanye’s wedding and that is “amazing.”

At least according to Kim’s sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who stopped by “Good Morning America” on Tuesday (June 3) to talk all about their new book, a YA novel titled “Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.” Not surprisingly, though, the conversation kicked off with deets on the lavish wedding.

“The whole wedding was just filled with so much love,” Kylie said. “It was just really amazing to watch that.”

ABC US News | ABC International News

So what was their favorite part? The rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles or maybe the picturesque wedding at the Belvedere Fort in Florence, Italy?

“Honestly, everything was amazing.” Kendall said. “And to see two people so happy. I think that that was probably my favorite part.”

The girls, who wore “simple dresses that Kim and Kanye picked out,” also sort of commented on their brother Rob missing the wedding. Kim’s brother reportedly left the festivities early due to a family argument, but all the sisters would say is, “He’s doing really well.”

Kim, meanwhile, is back in Los Angeles following her “relaxing romantic honeymoon” with husband Kanye in Ireland and Prague. The getaway included biking, hitting up the movies and enjoying a little makeout session at a friend’s wedding.

‘Catfish’ Sleuth Nev Schulman Has Gotten So Gangsta In Season 3

by 06/03/14

We’re not sure what’s gotten into Nev Schulman lately, but we kinda like it.

For two seasons of “Catfish,” the super-sleuth and his partner-in-crime, Max Joseph, criss-crossed the country righting the Internet’s wrongs using compassion and reverse Google image searches, but along the way, Nev seemed to have learned that in order to effectively take down digital gangstas, he had to become one himself. Now, well into Season 3, Nev is taking no prisoners.

Consider last Wednesday’s episode, for example, when Nev snatched scam artist Kidd Cole’s phone straight out of his hand and threw it into the Potomac.

“I like that case,” Nev said slyly, before prompting Cole to give him a closer look.

Next thing you know, our “Catfish” hero had swiped the phone and chucked it into the water!

Maybe Nev’s newfound gangsta attitude has something to do with his recent Rocawear endorsement, or maybe he’s just sick of having to console unfortunate victims of heartbreak. Either way, he has our full support.

+ What do you think of Gangsta Nev? Sound off, and catch a new episode of “Catfish” Wednesday night at 10/9c.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Can’t Wait For George R.R. Martin Anymore

by 06/03/14

The threat of “Game of Thrones” catching up with George R.R. Martin has always been very real — but never more so than it is now.

With the season four finale of “Thrones” less than two weeks away, fans of Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels have more than a few reasons to be concerned. As of season five, show runners and writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will start digging into the next two novels in the series: “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons,” two behemoth-sized books that take place concurrently, but feature different sets of characters and locations.

Many believe that “Feast” and “Dance” contain enough material to carry across two seasons of “Game of Thrones.” Except that “Thrones” has already started adapting material from those books, as early as season three, in fact. At the current rate, certain characters on the show will have caught up with their book counterparts by the end of this season, let alone next season.

Fans hope that “The Winds of Winter,” the penultimate novel in Martin’s series, will be on shelves before much longer. Even then, there’s cause for concern, based on the fact that Martin’s editor Anne Groell recently said (via Hypable) that the “Ice and Fire” saga, currently planned to end with the seventh book, could go as long as eight books.

“There are really technically eight kingdoms,” she said, “So, maybe eight books for Seven Kingdoms would be okay.”

At Martin’s current pace, an eighth ...

Rihanna’s Sheer Dress At The CFDA’s Tops A Year Of #FreeTheNipple Outfits

by 06/03/14

On Monday night, Rihanna was honored at the CFDA Awards as the 2014 Fashion Icon. So what does a fashion icon wear to be awarded as the best of the best? Something bold. Something unique. An outfit that establishes the individual as a tastemaker, a style superstar — indeed, an icon.

Ultimately, Rihanna went with a choice that was bold — if not exactly unique for her these days. Let’s just say Rih is having a sheer moment. At the Vogue -supported event, her sparkles were spectacular (230,000 Swarovski crystals are pretty impressive no matter how they’re presented), and her body was on full display.

Stylist Mel Ottenberg told Style.com they were aiming for a “scandalous” look. And Ottenberg’s partner, the dress designer Adam Selman, has been an ongoing collaborator of Riri’s. That’s probably the reason the dress felt familiar — and helps explain why we’ve now seen Rihanna’s nipples so many times.

How often has the Internet collectively gasped in awe of Riri’s bared bod? How many jaws have dropped at the sight of her in an undergarment-less outfit? Never mind that Rihanna in a sheer top is less shocking to us now than Rih in a tee — the pop superstar seems to be in an “if it ain’t sheer, don’t rock it” phase. Don’t believe us?

Remember what she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2011?

by 06/03/14

If you’re out and about in New York City Tuesday morning (June 3), you may notice a little something extra plastered on the subway platforms and nearby scaffolding. The familiar symbol isn’t a new subway line but rather clues about new duo Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s just-announced collaboration album.

The former manager of Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso’s Swedish House Mafia, Amy Thomson snapped a few pics on Instagram, announcing, “NYC. Let the games begin. Lines of a new song lie on your streets. Only sharing will make it grow. For everyone else who signed up we posted you your part :-)”
subway

Ingrosso then tweeted, “Watch your mail for post. If you didn’t sign up look on streets of NYC & together we’ll build a song.”

Fans have been tweeting and Instagramming any clues they have spotted throughout NYC, including lyrics like “all for a better day,” “go throw the key away,” “tell everyone under the sun,” and “you will always be the same,” as well as the duo’s trademark /\ symbol. At this point what these clues are leading up to is still TBD, but hopefully fans will be able to decode it on this massive scavenger hunt.

LYRICS

Ingrosso and Axwell will perform together for the first time since the announcement this weekend at Governor’s Ball in New York.

Watch Rihanna Twerk In Her See-Through Dress, YAAAAAS

by 06/03/14

What could be better than Rihanna in a see-through dress? Rihanna twerking in a see-through dress, that’s what.

The Bajan beauty made jaws drop when strutted her stuff in a sheer Adam Selman dress at the 2014 CFDAs on Tuesday, and then made her booty drop with a celebration twerk later that evening.

Hair and image consultant Yusef (yes, he goes by just one name like Rihanna), captured the moment and posted it to Instagram last night.

“The way we celebrate after a beautiful night or should I say the second half of a beautiful night #cdfaicon,” he captioned the vid.

At the start of the 15-second clip, Rih walks into a room as members of her team cheer her on, after winning a fashion icon award. To celebrate, the Good Girl Gone Bad hiked up her dress slightly, grabbed onto a table, arched her back and gave us nine booty pumps — yes we counted.

Now, we’re just praying Instagram doesn’t take it down.

Beyonce Once Ran Up On 50 Cent To Defend Jay Z

by 06/03/14

Although people were amazed at how calm Beyoncé remained during that whole elevator scuffle, 50 Cent explains that Queen Bey really doesn’t play any games when it comes to her man.

During a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Fif detailed an encounter with Bey at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas, where she got a little aggressive in defense of Jay Z. Needless to say, it was very unexpected.

“One time she jumped off of a ledge and came running over cause she thought me and Jay had issues,” 50 explained, relaying his surprise. “I was like — “What the f—? Did she really just jump and run at me like that?”

“We was at the Cosmopolitan [hotel] and she jumped out and was like this — ‘What?! That Bonnie and Clyde forreal! You try this or what, boy? I’m here!’ She bugged out at me,” he continued. Apparently Hov thought the whole thing was ridiculous.

“I looked at Jay, [he] started laughing. He’s like, “Yo, you know what it is.”

“I said, ‘Oh sh–! What the f— y’all got going on, man?’ Bey jumped down off of that joint like, ‘What? Wassup?’”

Thankfully everyone laughed that one off. Unlike the whole chain-snatching incident that went down at Summer Jam this weekend.
