The 6 Bruno Mars-iest Moments From Bruno Mars’ Super Bowl Halftime Show

Somewhere in-between all those Tim Tebow commercials and the Seahawks breaking the spirit of the entire Denver Metropolitan Area, Bruno Mars put on a halftime show for the ages during Super Bowl XLVIII ... specifically females, aged 12-24 (the Red Hot Chili Peppers were on hand to appeal to males 18-34).

What made Mars' performance so great wasn't just the songs, the staging or that split — though we loved all of them, too — it was the fact that it showcased his rather epic ego, too. From the opening drum solo to his closing salute, this one was Maximum Mars.

What can we say? Unlike the Broncos, Bruno never takes a play off. Want proof? Check out our favorite Bruno Mars moments from his halftime spectacular.

Bruno plays the drums! Take that, Beyonce.

Bruno belts! If you're gonna hit the high notes, you better work.

Bruno wants you! Yes, you, girl. C'mere, and bring those nachos.

Bruno gets down! This one was giving us James Brown flashbacks. All that was missing was Danny Ray draping a cape over his shoulders.

Bruno risks having children! Think Bruno was worried about babies? Based on this split, the answer is no. Hey, you gotta go for broke at the Big Game.

Bruno does jazz hands! YAAAAS, Bruno. YAAAAS.

Bruno Mars And Chili Peppers Seriously Funk Up Halftime

Weather was not a factor on Sunday night when Bruno Mars took the stage for Sunday night's (February 2) Super Bowl halftime show
.

Because the Hawaiian native came out smoking, playing a bad-ass drum solo while wearing a gold lame suit and floating across MetLife Field in the intro to a hyped "Locked Out of Heaven" to kick off the festivities of what was already looking like a rout by the Seattle Seahawks. The multi-talented singer/songwriter opened his bid for Super Bowl supremacy
just moments earlier with a children's choir harmonizing on a pop gospel version of the chorus from "Billionaire," the Travie McCoy hit Mars produced with his crew, the Smeezingtons.

In case you still wondered whether he had the cred to land the kind of gig reserved for Beyoncé
, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones, Mars seemed determined to prove he did. The singer jammed into the old school rollerboogie disco jam "Treasure," complete with synchronized foot slides, before doubling the tempo for a rip through "Runaway Baby," which included a riff on the Isley Brothers house party soul classic "Shout."

With his broken-ankle James Brown footwork and splits, the Elvis Pompadour and the GIF-worthy swagger, Mars looked the part of a stadium-rocker. And, he seamlessly executed a difficult-to-imagine-before-it-happened hand-off to co-stars the Red Hot Chili Peppers
when his sock hop version of their hit "Give It Away" morphed into the Californicators' bass-plucking funk punk original.

Mars, 28, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with ageless, and always shirtless Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis, 51, as he let ...

Kevin And Danielle Jonas Score With Super Bowl Baby

Former Jonas Brothers member Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle Jonas welcomed the birth of their first child on Sunday evening (February 2) just as many were settling in for kick-off of Super Bowl XLVIII.

that they were expecting in July.

Earlier in the day, Kevin posted a photo of his wife's vitals as a tip-off that the blessed event was on its way. While his wife shot back with a sleeping snap of the one-time Jonas Brothers senior member and her co-star in "Married to Jonas."

It seems like just yesterday that we found out the reality couple were expecting. "It's true ‪@daniellejonas is pregnant! can't even imagine how excited we are I can't wait to share this with my best friend," wrote Kevin last summer. "I love you baby."

The singer put the couple's fly six-bedroom former Jersey crib for rent

What Was The Song In That Amazing Chevy Commercial?

The Super Bowl is always known for over-the-top ads ... but so far, it's been a single, somber spot that's dominated the discussion on social media.

The commercial, called "Life," came from Chevrolet, and it doesn't feature a high-profile celeb or big-budget special effect. Instead, it's a song — "Don't Leave," from Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun — stealing the spotlight.

Brun released her debut album in 2002 and has toured Europe for years. She also caught the attention of Peter Gabriel, who featured her on his 2011 album New Blood.

"Don't Leave" is taken from Brun's 2008 album Changing of the Seasons, and it's used to tremendous effect in the commercial, which is a "celebration of cancer survivors," according to Chevy. Fans of the spot are encouraged to turn their Facebook or Twitter profile pictures purple through Chevy.com/purpleroads in support of World Cancer Day on February 4.

Chevrolet will contribute $1 to the American Cancer Society for every purple profile picture, up to $1 million.

Actress Kim Rhodes as a cancer survivor, and moments after the commercial appeared, she took to Twitter to respond to those who had seen it.

And she wasn't alone. Sure, other commercials may have broken the bank on Sunday, but this spot seems to be the rare one that actually spoke to those watching at home.
