Mariah Carey Reveals What Dem Babies Think Of ‘You’re Mine (Eternal)’

MTV threw a party for Mariah Carey on Wednesday night, but she was the one who came bearing gifts! The diva dropped by to premiere her sultry new video for "You're Mine (Eternal)" during our special hosted by Sway.

But first, Carey wanted to get the fans in the audience in the Valentine's Day spirit so she treated the lucky members of her Lambily to Godiva chocolates and heart-shaped candy.

Like the diva she is, Carey also brought a little something special for herself and Sway: a bottle of Dom Perignon and two engraved Tiffany champagne flutes. With the mood set, it was time to debut the new clip, which features Carey as a topless mermaid singing the emotional ballad about an old love.

"We were in the rainforest," Carey revealed following the premiere. "That's the same [place], maybe a few minutes down the road, for where we shot "Honey," and I love it because I wanted to highlight that we were in the rainforest because it's just something we don't see everyday."

Taking on the role of the pop/R&B superstar's love interest is Trey Songz, who's also featured on the remix of "You're Mine (Eternal)."

"I love what he did with the song because I felt like he gave us a lot of different moments artistically because he's singing the hook," Carey said. "Most people cant sing, rap and have a sound that's current, yet also classic."

The single will be featured on Carey's still-untitled album, due out May 6, and it's already earning positive reviews. But we ...

Chris Pratt Explains The Art Of The Selfie

Nobody is better at the art of the selfie than Chris Pratt.

MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with the star of for a brand-new and Pratt revealed some of what it takes to become the Michelangelo of selfies.

"It's important to gaze at your own image in the phone rather than make eye contact with yourself," said Pratt, while pointing to a shirtless selfie he had taken (cue the swooning, ladies). Otherwise, you'll look "too self-aware."

It has to look natural, almost like a mistake. Or as Pratt put it, "You just tripped, fell, and landed on some abs."

And don't forget, aspiring selfie artists: appreciate your own art. Pratt, when taking said shirtless picture, likened it to "seeing the Loch Ness Monster captured on film. You may never see it again."

But the selfie is as much about costume design and strategic lighting as anything. Guys should follow Pratt's advice and go without a shirt, though even being shirtless isn't that simple: You need good nipple shadow.

"Nip shadow is a huge part," Pratt explained.

Did you follow the advice and are still disappointed by your selfie? Don't worry. Pratt's final work of selfie art was the "best photo of about 40 that I took." If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

After his master class, Pratt then critiqued the selfies of celebrities like Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas, James Franco, and Macklemore, whose combo of shades and a relaxed demeanor led Pratt to declare it "the best one so far." Congrats, Macklemore! Just put your Chris Pratt Award For ...

‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Gets New Life On Netflix

Netflix has saved "The Clone Wars" from the galactic garbage compactor. The streaming service has reached a deal with Disney and Lucasfilm to pick up the unaired final season of the animated "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" series.

So get ready to binge on the adventures of Obi Wan, young apprentice Ahsoka Tano and not-yet-Darth Anakin Skywalker beginning March 7, when the final chapters of "Clone Wars" make their Netflix debut. "Clone Wars," which ran on the Cartoon Network, was canceled last year, shortly after Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm. The last 13-episode season, called "The Lost Missions," will chronicle Ahsoka's departure from the Jedi order as the Jedi's battle with the Sith lords intensifies.

The series, which takes place between two of the movie prequels — 2002's Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones and 2005's Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith — marks the first time any Star Wars content has been offered on Netflix.

Most excitingly, Yoda makes an appearance in the series and drops some knowledge about the nature of the Force and its mysterious power.

According to a release announcing the deal, "Some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed," in the upcoming episodes. "An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker's closest relationship is tested to its limits, and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy."

It's just the first part of a deal between ...

Shia LaBeouf Isn’t Nearly Sorry Enough

After a plagiarism scandal, a non-apology and series of shenanigans at the Berlin Film Festival that reached a bizarre apex with The Paper Bag Incident, Shia LaBeouf has steered the trainwreck of his public persona to its only logical endpoint: performance art.

LaBeouf, who quickly became an object of mockery in the wake of accusations that he'd plagiarized the work of comics artist Dan Clowes, has taken up residence in a Los Angeles art installation. Titled #IAMSORRY, the installation features the actor sitting alone in a room with a bag over his head, while audience participants pass through one by one to witness LaBeouf's contrition. (Or that seems to be the idea, anyway, based on reports from those in attendance.)

But hey, if Shia is really serious about being really sorry, then maybe he could take this opportunity to make apologies on multiple fronts, beginning with...

#IAMSORRY: For The Plagiarism Scandal We would like Shia to apologize for plagiarizing the work of Dan Clowes, and also apologize for plagiarizing his original apology. He should also apologize for being a plagiarism apologist, and while he's at it, apologize for the existence of plagiarism in general.

#IAMSORRY: For Past Personal Infractions Shia will then move on to righting old wrongs, beginning with apologies to Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas for spilling the beans about their illicit romantic affairs, and to the women's partners for his embarrassing lack of discretion. The neighbor with whom Shia had an altercation back in 2005 should receive an apology for Shia having threatened him with ...

Dakota Johnson Reveals The Part Of ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ That’s ‘Kinda Boring’

There are officially 365 days until hits theaters, and the anticipation is killing us.

But at least Anastasia Steele herself, Dakota Johnson, has been giving us a little taste of what we can expect from E L James' erotic novel-turned-movie.

The brunette beauty is now featured in Vanity Fair's March issue. Photographed in a printed grey strapless dress, she revealed what it's been like preparing for the role, and surprisingly, it's "kinda boring."

"A lot of getting into the character's head, in Ana's headspace before she meets Christian, so it's a lot of reading, which I love," Johnson told the magazine. "She's an English major, so that's kinda boring."

Most likely, that will be the only boring part of the flick. Johnson recently told Elle magazine that she "doesn't have a problem" doing anything, which comes in quite handy in this movie, as it follows the unlikely romance of Anastasia, who is looking for love, and billionaire tycoon Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, who's in it for the S&M.

Johnson and Dornan have been snapped filming scenes for the movie in Vancouver, and Johnson admits that so far, so good.

"It's been a very smooth and fun and creative experience," Johnson admitted. "I think going into something like this, you kind of have fears of what it could be like and none of those fears are happening. We all get along really well and the crew's amazing. We're just all trying to make this project the best it can be."

"Fifty Shades of Grey" hits theaters February 13, 2015.

Ballet Skiing: Mourning A Lost Olympic Sport Where Glitter Gloves Were Encouraged

Ballet skiing has become the stuff of viral Internet video these days, but during the winter months of the late '90s, it was pretty much how I spent my weekends — weekends I whiled away competing against future Olympians, as it turned out.

While freestyle skiing as a sport has morphed and changed over the years, back in the 1990s, the three concentrations Olympic hopefuls could focus on were moguls, aerials and ballet, the latter later dubbed Acroski.

Ballet skiing never really made it as big as the other two concentrations — and it never became an official Olympic sport, either. It was a demonstration sport at the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics, sure, and it had a few standout stars (Richard Schabl and Susan Chaffe, in particular) but people basically stopped competing in it around 2000.

The International Olympic Council just wasn't down with it, according to Slate, so competing at a lower level was basically a non-starter.

Back in the '90s, however, my family and I would trudge to various competitions across Vermont and New Hampshire where my sister and I would duct-tape ourselves into teeny tiny skis (so that they wouldn't fly off mid-spin), grab our really long poles (the better to do tricks with) and cue up songs for our 90-second routines. She skied to Huey Lewis and the News' "The Power of Love," I twisted and tangoed to Queen's "Princes Of the Universe."

My sister was much better than I was and managed to place a few times, whereas I pretty much never cracked the top 7. This ...

‘American Idol’ Recap: MK Says Being ‘Very Obviously Gay’ Is A ‘Positive Thing’

This season of "American Idol" is ticking right along. Wednesday's episode began the process of narrowing the field to the final 30 — 15 guys, 15 girls — which will be determined by the end of Thursday's (February 13) episode. The live shows begin next week. Is this real life?

If the process this year feels streamlined, it is — but only a bit. Last year's live shows kicked off with 40 singers, so this year's talent pool will be tighter. This season is also unfolding more naturally: By this time last year, the narrative seed that it was a woman's year to win had already been planted, while no such lines have been drawn in the sand this year ... not yet, at least.

Wednesday's episode found singers riding The Elevator of Fate to learn whether judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr. were going to keep them around or send them, broken and bruised, back to their hometowns.

Here are a handful of highlights from Wednesday's episode.

Meuse Sings For Her Life
Jessica Meuse, whose uncanny ability to find herself embroiled in drama was a hallmark of Hollywood Week, was summonsed before the judges not alone, but alongside fellow singer Jesse Roach. It seems the judges only had room for one of them going forward, and both were asked to prove their mettle right there in front of the judges.

Meuse volunteered to go first, belted out an a capella version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man," and set the bar for Roach. Roach's version of K.T. Oslin's "Do Ya" couldn't quite ...
