Shailene Woodley On ‘Insurgent’ Director Change: ‘It Was Pretty Shocking’

It's typical for new film series to keep a director around for at least two installments. Chris Columbus helmed "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" before leaving. The same was true with Jon Favreau and the "Iron Man" movies.

But that hasn't been the case with a few notable YA franchises. Gary Ross didn't stick around the "Hunger Games" series for "Catching Fire," and recently "

Despite the growing trend, Burger's announcement caught many off guard, including "Divergent" star Shailene Woodley, whom MTV News spoke with at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was promoting her new film "White Bird in a Blizzard," this past weekend. "It was pretty shocking," Woodley said.

With production scheduled to start on "Insurgent" soon, a director announcement should be coming soon. For her part, Woodley — perhaps not so seriously — suggested that she direct the sequel. "Well, I propose that I direct. I would love it," she said. "I think I'd be great at a huge action film. They're definitely trying to get another director, but I haven't heard. I've sort of been off the face of the planet for the holidays, so I don't really know where they stand." Whoever takes the reins from Burger has some work ahead of him or her, since it was the "Divergent" director's vision that dictated the feel of the series so far. "Honestly, Neil created this entire world. This whole world was based off his intuition, his own creativity," Woodley said. "It will be interesting to see someone ...

Ke$ha Speaks Out From Rehab: ‘This is Really Hard’

One day after reaching out to her Animals through a friend, Ke$ha herself got on Twitter to thank fans for their support, saying that getting through rehab is something that she "couldn't do" without them.

"hey It's Kesha from treatment. I just wanted to say that this is really hard and necessary work," Ke$ha tweeted on Wednesday (January 22). "I'm grateful for all the love and support."

Ke$ha checked into rehab at Chicago's Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center earlier this month to deal with an eating disorder and to "learn to love" herself again.

"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice. I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder," Ke$ha said in a statement to MTV News.

Fans were reassured on Tuesday after Ke$ha's friend took to her Twitter page to reveal that the singer is on the fast track to recovery and that she will "be back soon and better than ever."

A few hours after giving an update on Ke$ha's health, her friend once again reached out to the Animals, asking for them to send over some very personal supplies for her latest art project.

"Hey guys this is K's friend again. She's doing well and needs more of your teeth to make art with at the treatment center. She misses you :)," the tweet read.

The request — which, according to TMZ, is not permitted by the treatment facility — may sound odd, but Ke$ha has been known to sport human teeth ...

Have Mercy! Here’s Our ‘Full House’ Reunion Wish List

Want a dose of '90s nostalgia with your Super Bowl-ing? You got it dude! A sizable portion of the "Full House" cast will be reuniting in a commercial for Dannon during the Big Game, and we can think of a few additions to the ad spot that we'd like to see made manifest.

In a brief teaser for the commercial, we see Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) and Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) together once more, bro-ing down in the kitchen over Dannon's Oikos yogurt and football, like one does. The full spot is scheduled to premiere during the Super Bowl on February 2.

While we tear the pages from the calendar in heady anticipation for the day, MTV News has a compiled a list of six musicians and "Full House"-affiliated stars we'd like to see make an appearance in the ad.

You miss your old familiar friends, but they're waiting just around the bend— we hope.

Jesse And The Rippers
The '90s most rocking-est band already reunited for a performance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," so why shouldn't they appear in a commercial for yogurt?

The Uncle Jesse-fronted outfit shares many characteristics with the Dannon-spun treat, if you really think about it. They're both smooth, they're both tangy and they are both made infinitely more delicious by the presence of one John Stamos (this isn't Stamos' first visit to the Dannon rodeo — he appears in other ads).

Have mercy!

And we're not talking about mash-up master Gregg Gillis — although that would be cool, too. Nope, we're referring to ...

Mister Cee Gets Honest About Prostitution Troubles

Back in September, Mister Cee used his popular "Throwback At Noon" show on New York's Hot 97 radio station to address his ongoing struggle with prostitution, and in a new interview with GQ, the legendary hip-hop DJ opens up even further.

Cee played a pivotal role in the early careers of artists such as Jay Z and the Notorious B.I.G., but over the last year his personal issues began to overshadow his work, especially following an arrest for soliciting sex from an undercover male officer. Things got worse when a YouTube video surfaced containing audio of Cee soliciting the services of a transsexual.

He explained to GQ that the trouble began when he started having sex with strippers outside of the clubs, and "around 2005, 2006" he found himself deep in the throes of prostitution, not far from Hot 97's main offices in New York. "The best way I can explain it is that I was so knee-deep into doing it that it became a part of me," he said. "It's also the rush of: Get horny, A and B — you know, one plus one equals two. You get horny, go out, go get your sh-- off. It became a part of my routine. Even though I was fearful, there was a part of me that felt invincible, too."

Mister Cee was worried about how his career would be affected if the news became public. "It wasn't even about losing the job. I was just afraid of what the perception was going to be about me and ...

‘Mindy Project’ And 6 TV Hookups That Made Us Die Of Joy

Warning: spoilers ahead for the January 22 episode of "The Mindy Project." Also: high-pitched squealing.

It's cool, don't mind those barking dogs running through the streets — they can't help but respond to the high-pitched sounds fans of "The Mindy Project" are emitting after Tuesday night's mid-season finale.

In the fine tradition of 'will they or won't they' TV pairings, a well-timed bit of turbulence on an ill-timed trip to Santa Fe ended up bringing Mindy Lahiri and Danny Castellano — partners in crime, friendship and gynecological practice — together. (At the mouth.) I haven't quite recovered from the shock ending of the episode — though let's be honest, I still haven't really recovered from Danny's "you're a woman and that's good — look like a woman" speech from a few episodes ago.

While I wait 'til we're able to re-watch (and re-re-watch) the episode on Hulu, here are a few more of my favorite TV couple consummations from the recent past. (It goes without saying, can't wait to the see fallout when the series comes back in April.)

Mindy And Danny, "The Mindy Project"

What was I just talking about, guys? Like, just talking about? Of course this on here. Look at that. Guh.

Nick And Jess, "New Girl"

"The Mindy Project" isn't the only Tuesday night Fox show getting in on this action. "New Girl" roommates Nick and Jess got to it quicker than Danny and Mindy, but had a similar sneak-attack first kiss that exploded fangirls' (and boys') heads everywhere. And, if you'll recall through the static fuzz of your ...

Nicholas Hoult Had A Major Fanboy Moment On The ‘X-Men’ Set

Each year at the Sundance Film Festival, there's an interesting balance when speaking with the stars presenting new movies there. Everyone is eager to talk about the small-budget, independent and occasionally experimental films they've brought to Park City, but almost everyone also has a big-budget tentpole on the horizon.

That was the case when MTV News spoke with two of the stars of "Young Ones," Nicholas Hoult and Michael Shannon. The pair stars in the new film from writer-director Jake Paltrow — Gwyneth's little brother — about a family struggling to survive in a near future that's short on water.

Not far into our own future, Hoult will reprise his role as Hank McCoy aka Beast in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," the Marvel sequel combining the casts of the series' two timelines. For Hoult, returning to the character meant less time in the makeup chair and many more fanboy moments.

"A lot of makeup, less time, more comfortable. It was very exciting to shoot. Obviously, we've got the cast from the original movies and 'First Class' all together, and Bryan says it's looking really good. I'm excited to see it," Hoult said. "The first day, I was walking down the corridor to Cerebro with Hugh Jackman, and I looked over during the scene and I saw that it was Wolverine. That was who I grew up with when I was 11, watching these films. I had a bit of trouble getting my lines out on the first day. It was just a weird moment."

While not on as huge of ...
