‘Divergent’ Exclusive: Ellie Goulding Reveals Soundtrack Secrets

Late last year, when the first clip from premiered, it rather prominently featured Ellie Goulding's "Dead in the Water" ... though, in a subsequent interview, director Neil Burger wouldn't confirm if the song would appear in the final cut of the film, saying only "she's going to do some music."

On Wednesday morning (January 22), during an appearance on "Good Morning America," Goulding went one step further, revealing that she'd contributed plenty to the movie, including a brand-new song that would appear on the film's soundtrack.

Of course, she stopped short of actually naming that new song ... which is where we come in. Because during a recent sit-down interview with MTV News, Goulding was ready to reveal all about her brand-new track, and the work she's done on the film's soundtrack.

Vote for 'Divergent' in MTV's 2014 Movie Brawl!

"I wrote a song for 'Divergent,' called 'Beating Heart,' and it's being used for the soundtrack," she said. "And they're also going to use 'Don't Say a Word' and 'Dead in the Water,' and the rest of it is instrumental vocal stuff."

Goulding added that she recorded those instrumental tracks with orchestral accompaniment (she also posted an Instagram pic of the sessions last week), and that the music they made will definitely surprise both her fans and Initiates alike ... both in the way it sounds, and the way it will be featured in the film.

"I was recording with an orchestra for 'Divergent,' and my voice is kind of woven into the instrumental bits ...

Katy Perry Riding High On Charts With ‘Dark Horse’

Another week, another chance for Katy Perry, to ride hard on the competition on the Billboard Digital Songs chart. With the top 10 moving very little as sales stay in a January deep freeze, Perry's witchy "Dark Horse" will lodge another week at the top thanks to sales of 261,000 for her collaboration with rapper Juicy J. (Perry also held down the top spot on the iTunes singles chart.)

A Great Big World Ride High Again
A week before their debut hits shelves, breakout "Voice" performers A Great Big World rose a spot to #2 as their "Say Something" collabo with Christina Aguilera moved another 208,000 copies. That pushed one of the charts biggest recent hits, Pitbull and Ke$ha's "Timber," down to #3 (202,000), while Aloe Blacc's "The Man" moved up three spots to #4 (165,000).

The week's other big mover was Jason DeRulo, whose duet with 2 Chainz, "Talk Dirty," shot up 12 spots to #6 as sales ballooned by 84 percent to 148,000. Holding steady was Grammy nominee Lorde, whose "Team" hung at #8 (133,000).

The Boss Takes Over
They don't call him the Boss for nothing. Bruce Springsteen will land his eleventh #1 album this week when his new collection of covers, revamps and previously shelved tunes, High Hopes, debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, the album featuring guitar from Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello moved 99,000 copies.

Frozen Iced Out After Three Weeks
After a surprise two-week run at the top, the Frozen soundtrack (87,000) had to ...

Shakira’s New Album Title Sounds Familiar

Shakira might have hooked up with Rihanna for her new single, but the singer's March 25 album release is all about her. She took to Facebook on Wednesday (January 22) to announce why her next album will be self-titled.

"When the time came to put a name to this album, I realized that it's not exactly a thematic album, though love is and always has been one of my main subjects and sources for inspiration. It's also not necessarily conceptual, as some of my albums have been in the past," she wrote about naming the album after herself.

"In the end, what I realized is that throughout the course of creating this body of work, I learned a lot about myself. Though I didn't realize it at the time, all the directions I began exploring in the initial phases of recording were helping to pave a path for me of rediscovery. In the end I realized that I will always be a little bit of everything and I don't have to choose," she added. "I am sometimes extremely sensitive, sometimes upbeat, others dreamy and romantic, and even at times a little melodramatic. (Call it the Caribbean blood.) But always authentic and always sincere.

"Most importantly, I am enough," she continued. "Imperfections and all. So what I am offering you now is just that."

In the lengthy open letter to her fans, Shakira, who will return to "The Voice" next month, noted that the album came during a very happy time in her personal life.

"The work on this album ...

‘Workaholics’ Is Back, And Someone’s Getting Their D–k Cut Off

Over the years, the guys of Comedy Central's have openly campaigned for the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and, uh, Anthony Anderson to make cameos on their show ... but so far, they've come up empty handed.

Despite that, they're keeping the tradition alive, and it looks like it's finally paid off. Because on the new season — which premieres Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT — the 'Holics are bringing out the big guns.

"A whole lot of Lorenzo Lamas," Blake Anderson told MTV News.

"If you were a fan of the early '90s television show 'Renegade,' getcher getcher on, because Lorenzo Lamas is gonna be cruising right into your hearts once again," Adam DeVine added. "We haven't had any other guest stars just yet, but we'll get someone [else] big. I'm guessing Matt Damon. Shoot for the stars, land at Lorenzo."

Of course, to the best of our knowledge, Lorenzo Lamas isn't actually going to appear on the show's fourth season (and Matt Damon definitely isn't), though the mere mention of his rippling pectorals — and sweet karate skills — certainly raised the temperature a few degrees ... which is why this season of "Workaholics" will be the hottest yet.

"[It's] probably our most sexual to date. There's some love fallin'. Me and Ders fight over a woman, who you may know from the show," DeVine said. "So get ready, that's going to be an exciting episode. People are going to be like 'I can't even believe they did that.' "

And yet, despite that focus on ...

In an interview with the Newsday, the "Spring Breakers" star said that shooting the small film was a good way to deal with "the everyday madness that I've got to go through."

In the same way her films are showing her growth, Selena said she hopes to show more maturation in her music.

"No, I'm actually serious," she said. ''I started music when I was 14. And I had like four #1 club songs before I was even allowed in a club. So I think that journey still kind of is happening for me. I've never really had the opportunity to share a lot of that side of myself through lyrical ...
